Another Wednesday, time for a peek at each other's desks and projects! If you would like to learn more, just go to http://www.stamping-ground.blogspot.ca/p/what-is-woyww.html. Maybe you could join our little group!

Hello all! We are in the midst of a heatwave, just for a few days, probably the most "summer weather" we've had all summer, so I'm happy! It's very quiet here now, with all the neighborhood kids back at school!

Here is my desk this morning. It is mostly the underpaper that I have been using, which I will use in a project someday, but if you look hard you can see a little pile of mushrooms...

I made a mushroom stencil, as I am now running low on this type of fodder, and then made a bunch of cute little mushrooms

I will probably make more today

I have also been playing with paper dolls (which I loved to do as a kid!). I bought a course from Megan Quillan called "The Comprehensive Paper Doll" and I am having a lot of fun with it! I had ben watching "The Witcher" on Netflix, and 2 of these paper dolls were inspired by a couple of the characters!

So I will probably be making more paper dolls this week as well!

And, as promised, a picture of Mittsy! She often comes to the window while I am at the computer just to see what I'm doing and to make sure I'm safe, then off she goes!

With that said, everyone have a safe and creative week this week!

It's almost September! August has FLOWN by with not a lot to show for it, but last week I decided that I was finally going to learn how to use my Cricut Joy to make stencils (I've only had it for 3 months!)

and I did!

First, here's my desk this morning:

I just finished cutting out some leaves because I was running out of them, you can see some stencil images I'm working on designing, some quotes I was trying for a journal page, my sponges I use for Distress Inks, dirty watercolour water, and lots of paint pens and markers.

But on to the stencils. My first try was direct from Cricut Design Space, A sugar skull. This was very easy and lends itself to decorating

Then I needed hearts, so I made a heart stencil

Then I wanted to see if I could create a design from an existing image, so this happened

I was quite pleased with it! Then I got very brave, and made a whole alphabet and numbers using the Rialto font (which took ages to find)

And finally, why I wanted to make my own stencils in the first place, I made a stencil of Jasper!

This is the first impression I made, and I put it on the cover of her art book that she writes in when she's here. I couldn't stop at that though!

I made a page in my JIYA Journal, and another page in my tiny book

I am currently working on making stencils from my own drawings, Hopefully will have something to show you next week!

I also discovered that I could buy, very cheaply, SVGs from Etsy, so I bought this one (from Citra Graphics) which was in a huge package of SVGs. It's a whole new world out there!

I didn't manage to get a Mittsy pic this week, but I will try for next week. Have a wonderful week, and if you are starting school next week, have a wonderful year! ( we start the day after Labour Day here, which is the 4th, so school starts on the 5th of September)

I have missed a few weeks, a holiday in Niagara Falls took one of those weeks, and I got a new phone where I couldn't figure out how to get my photos onto my computer anymore, it's so frustrating getting a new phone! And I switched from an iPhone to a Google 6a, just to make things more complicated. So I finally figured out an easy way to get photos from my phone to my computer, and here I am!

Here is my desk this morning:

I'm working on a stenciled flower, yet to be fussy cut. I am having a lot of fun lately with watercoloured stencils. I cleaned off my desk a week ago, and got yet more storage, and a little basket to put things that I am working on, that need drying, etc, before storing them away somewhere else.

My latest project has been Fodder School 1, February, taught by Megan Quinlan, one of my favourite artists. We made little collages, or assemblages, or clusters, all the same thing. You start with a background and pile things onto it, like this: This was one of my first ones, I think I got better the more I made!

I made a lot of them! This I one used a house stencil that I cut up into squares for the background, and built them all at once

Here are some more:

I have already used a few on journal pages here and there. Makes for a nice and quick journal page!

Hopefully by next week I will have a book to show you from Fodder School 2, July, also by Meagan Quinlan! I am also trying to figure out how to use the Cricut Design Space so I can make my own stencils, looking forward to that!

Well, here's Jasper, enjoying the summer!

She's growing up so fast! And here's Inky, who hasn't shown up on my blog recently, but she is still around!

Mittsy is around somewhere too!  We all wish you a wonderful and crafty week!

Last week got away from me somehow! Last Wednesday was hubby's birthday, and a picnic, and singing in the choir I belong to, and out for dinner, and a play (Sound of Music). Whew! For someone who's been essentially bedbound for 3 months it was a lot for one day! So I recovered for the next couple of days, then the weekend happened...off to visit our niece and a swim in her lake...a day in the sun and I'm exhausted again! So I didn't get a chance to visit any blogs, but I will visit both your blog posts today! (or tomorrow...) This weekend I am off for my annual "Girl's week" with my good friend in Niagara Falls, so I probably won't post next week.

I didn't get a lot done last week, but here is my desk this morning: pretty full and messy desk! I am drying some images I glued into my tag book

Here is my Tag Book (as taught by Megan Quinlan in the Fodder Challenge)

It's not finished, I thought I would bring it to Niagara Falls with me and use it as my travel journal this year. It has 4 pockets for tags and 8 pages (or 4 long pages). It should work fine! I'll show you when I get back.

Here are a couple of pages in my small ongoing art journal that I started last year in Fodder School. I keep adding to it once in awhile:

And that's it for me! We just had a torrential rain a few minutes ago, it's all over now! I hope the heat isn't too bad for you over there. Luckily we haven't gotten it yet.

Inky and Mittsy are enjoying the summer so far, out every day, rolling in the dirt (seems to be a requirement before coming in for the night😒) And so they say "Meow!" And I say, have a great week! Stay cool! Have fun! Create Joy!

Hello! I hope everyone is enjoying their summer and staying out of the heat! We have been enjoying relatively cool weather, mostly 20°-29°, lots of rain, everything is beautifully green and lush.  I have lots to show you today, as I wasn't able to post photos last week.

Here is my desk Tuesday morning, not showing much, just a bunch of leftover things from my Fodder School Challenges:

And here are my Fodder School Challenge Projects so far, There are 2 so far I opted not to do, but may do later on
Day 1: Tiffany Sharpe watercolour leaf fodder

Day 2: I skipped, it was covering a notebook or journal with collage
Day 3: Floating Words, Alison Bomber, hopefully you can see the words "floating"

Day 4: Started but didn't finish, no photo (didn't like it to be truthful)
Day 5: Mixed Media Tokens, Kecia Deveney, showing the process

These were fun, I only did a few, but will continue on!

Day 6-skipped, will come back to it later (making printed ribbons)
Day 7-Gratitude Medals, Jennifer Wilkin Pennick

Day 8 was yesterday, I will try and make it today, it's a little tag book by Megan Quinlan
Day 9 is today, I probably won't get to it until Thursday!

In my journal I played with one of my favourite stamps by Meer Image.
I turned her into a mermaid! And I am ready to make more!

And this one has a Steampunk head!

Well I'm sure you are overloaded by now, I leave you with a photo of my Mom and me at our weekly lunch, at our favourite Vietnamese restaurant!

Have a great week!

I am having a terrible time downloading photos from my phone to my computer, very frustrating. I can get some of my photos but not all, and the ones I'm missing are the ones I need for this post😡Grr!

Two weeks ago I twisted my ankle, and it was very sore, but my DD and Jasper were visiting, so I ignored it the best I could.  I have been trying to get it to heal for the past 1 1/2 weeks, and today it feels almost back to normal. 😃

I have been getting some art done, and I joined the Fodder School Challenge 2023 which started yesterday. I'm posting on Instagram, so if you want to see what I did for Day 1 you can go to @Lindart61. If you want to join, it is free, go to https://willa-workshops.teachable.com/p/fodder-challenge-2023 It was through this challenge in 2021 that I got involved with Fodder School!

I can't even leave you with a cute photo of Jasper when she was visiting 😞.

Hoping you all are enjoying your summer so far, and hopefully I will have the photo problem figured out by next week.
