Hello all! I hope you all had a lovely Christmas wherever you were, and that you have recovered! It does take a lot out of me now, and after returning home, I slept like a log 2 days in a row! Unheard of!

Here is my desk this morning, awaiting a new project. I think I need a good tidying of my art room first though!

We left for Toronto to spend Christmas with the "kids" and DD's in-laws, and had a fabulous time! We were going to leave on Friday, but left on Thursday instead. This is why:
Friday Dec 23

Friday was the start of the Big Storm of 22, a once in a decade type storm. I was very glad we made the choice that we did! Many people did not make it to where they were going. Even the trains were not safe

This was just one of the trains stranded for 17 hours, full of people trying to get home for Christmas. No food, no water, no facilities. Our train system is pretty bad compared to Europe, and even USA.

Anyway, we were very smart to leave when we did, we hunkered down for the storm on Friday and by Saturday Toronto had cleared everything and we were able to go to our son-in-law's parents for Christmas Eve and Christmas dinner - 14 people for dinner!

Granddaughter Jasper had a great time opening presents, though she still doesn't really understand any of it. Here she is with 2 of her fav presents:

I hope I have something more to show next week besides a very sad desk!

Have a great week, and...

Happy New Year!

Happy Winter Solstice! It arrives at 4:47pm, the shortest day of the year. From now on the days get longer!

Here is my desk this morning...

not a lot happening here! I was working on a little project yesterday, but it will probably get abandoned. It's sitting just above the Black ink pad. I was trying to incorporate some essential oils to it, but hubby didn't like any of the scents, and as it was supposed to go in the car, I may have to go and buy more scents.

I did, however, buy myself a little present of a cookie press and made these for the first time ever. It was a lot of fun! And they are so cute! I might even make some more today...

Not a long post today, hoping all of you have a wonderful Christmas. Mother Nature is seeing that here in Southern Canada and lots of the USA, we will be getting a White Christmas this weekend, along with rain, and flash freezing... I'm hoping it just stays away on our travel days!

Because of this little rascal, the first 2 feet of our tree has nothing on it...Inky just likes to sit and stare at it, and see what trouble Mittsy is getting onto! Just like a big sister!

Merry Christmas, have a wonderful holiday with family and friends, or if you are on your own, know that there are people out there who care about you and wish you happiness and peace. Enjoy!

Hello all! Hope you are all enjoying the Season, as they say! I finally got all my Christmas Cards made and mailed out yesterday. Some will be late, I'm sure! I did do a mass card making, all pretty much the same. I wanted to try an idea using the technique I've been working on for my Art Journal Workshop, so here is the first part:

Looks like a total mess! My thought was to tone it down with stenciling as I did my journal pages, so I tried it just along the bottom, and made a few cards, then decided I didn't like it because it covered too much of the stencil.

Couldn't really see what the stencil was. So I just painted the rest of the page with a dry brush and white paint, then sprayed it all with gold spray (I sprayed the stenciled one too), I really liked this effect so that is what I used for the rest of the cards. And I gave it a bit of spatter with white paint.

So this was my desk yesterday morning:

Today there is essentially nothing on it.

I wanted to show you my "powder room" which I always decorate for Christmas. It is where my Christmas Mice live, and collections of past cards by me and my friends.

This garland is handmade from years ago when I  was in a 12 days of Christmas Swap (when postage was affordable!) It was such a fun swap and I still have many of the handmade gifts that were sent.

Well, that's it for me! The kitties are hunkered down somewhere warm in the house - it's very cold outside! But I'm sure they wish you all a Merry Christmas! Have a great week!

Hello everyone! I hope everyone is happy and well today! I was travelling last week to Toronto and Niagara Falls, so wasn't able to post, but I'm back again today. I have been in my art room once since I got back, so this is what my desk looks like this morning:

If you go back to my last post where I was painting these pages you can see a big difference now that I've done some stencilling to tone down the colours.

I did buy some new Christmas stamps at a thrift shop, only $7.95CAD (4.78GBP) for these 3 stamps! I rarely buy stamps anymore as I have so many, but I couldn't resist!

So what have I been doing? Probably what most of you have been doing...decorating for Christmas!

You can see my snowmen collection, and hubby's passion - Scotch! All the boxes on top of the cabinet are empty. He likes to keep the boxes of the Scotch he has tried. The full bottles are inside the cabinet! I don't drink it, hence the wine shelf! Hopefully all of this will be done today, and I can relax.

The tree is up but not decorated...

Unless you consider this...

The cutest decoration ever!

All our snow is gone, so it's just rain for us for awhile. We hope you have a wonderful week, meow from Mittsy and Inky!

Hello everyone! I hope everyone is happy and well today!

Here is my desk this morning. I have put away all the Plaster of Paris and piles of fodder to start my new art journal from the workshop I just got by Megan Quinlan. We start by painting these giant pieces of paper, six of them, both sides.

The next step is stenciling. I bought some  dabbers to use for stenciling which arrived a few weeks ago, but do you think I can find them now that I need them?

I think a major clean-up is the only way!

I  finished another canvas last week. This one is growing on me too.

And here's the first one in a better light

It has been very cold lately, the cats only go out for short periods of time. Today Mittsy decided she was going to follow me around, so here she is in my art room.

Well, that's it for me today! Wish me luck finding my daubers! I just may have to use something else!

Have a great week, stay healthy and happy! Inky and Mittsy say "meow"!

Hello everyone! I hope everyone is happy and well today!

Here are two pics to start us off today:

Yesterday and today...it has begun.

Here is my desk this morning:

I have been working on collage fodder all month, and finally got to put my project together! The lighting is yellowy because it is on the wall next to my bedroom lamp, which gives it the yellow glow. It took me awhile to like this, but now, after walking by it many times, it has grown on me! I do like it now!

Completed, top close up, middle close up and bottom close up. The feather fell off of a trick-or-treater's costume on Halloween, I saved it for this!

I am now working on little collages to add to journal pages, books, or maybe another collage canvas, which I have already prepared, ready to go!

This has been a fun project, next I will start on my new Art Journal from my new workshop before I delve into the next Fodder School lesson. And I will make more of the tiny collages. FUN!!

Here is Mittsy on the porch wondering what all this cold icky white stuff is, and why is it so cold????

I haven't see any kitty prints in the snow yet!

Inky and Mittsy say "Meow" and I say "I hope everyone has a lovely week!" Until next week, stay warm!
