Hello everyone! I hope you are all safe and warm, and getting your jabs! We are no where near getting ours yet, even my 90 year old step-father hasn't gotten his. But we have been promised it will start March 15, but for the likes of us over 60's...probably not until June! Crazy!

Anyway, I think I forgot to post the look out my window for February, but here is March:

Can you help?

I have been having trouble sleeping lately, mostly due to hubby's snoring, and I've been experimenting with earplugs. I get my best sleep with earplugs. I started using the cheap foam ones which worked well, but after a few days my ears started itching and hurting because they were too big. So I ordered some smaller plastic/silicone earplugs for small ears, which worked great the first two nights, but now drive me crazy with the itching. I couldn't wear them last night, I had to take them out. Has anyone else had experience with ear plugs at night that you could share with me? TIA!

I'm sure you are wondering what Inky and Mittsy are up to...Inky as you saw is sleeping under her hammock at the moment. Here is where Mittsy was this morning...

This window looks onto the backyard, Mittsy's favourite playground. She wants so badly to get back outside!

Happy New Year everyone! I truly hope this new year brings you new hope, health and happiness, wherever in the world you are. I hope everyone gets their vaccine sooner than later, and that we can toss our masks soon! 

We are still in a lockdown until the 28th, and I hear that England is also getting more restrictions. Bummer.

So I thought I would give you a different view, from my door:

It's not that I didn't do anything in there this week, but it's darn cold in there! So I don't tend to spend a long time in there. I did make this tag, after joining a Facebook group called 52 Tags, where we will be making a tag a week for a year. Hopefully  can keep up!

The challenge for this one was white on white.

 So, I have been working on my Bullet Journal, also called a Bujo. A lot of you expressed an interest in it, so I will show you what I did this week. You can skip it if your are not interested! I've known about these for years, always thought they were a lot of work, and who has the time for that? Well...pandemic...no job...guess who has time!

My friend Marg sent me this beautiful card for my birthday, which was on the 1st of January. Lavinia! Hubby gave me $100 gift certificate to my local stamp store - time to get more Lavinia!

In the last week of January I will make February's calendar and daily pages.  This is the general recommended order, though some people do all their dailies for the year at once. I decided to do it this way. The tracking pages are for whatever you want to track (don't look at those numbers too closely!). I do have several more I want to make, and I could also add more after my February dailies if I wanted to. This has certainly kept me busy and my creative juices flowing! The perfect fonts you see on the first 3 pages are printed from the computer! One of things I want to do is learn to letter like that!

Happy Fourth to my US Friends!

Hope everyone is having a Happy 4th of July today! Our holiday was on Tuesday, Canada Day, and that's when I broke a tooth and had to have it extracted. Great day! Hope yours turns out better!

Finished my 4X4


Worked on my Journal:



Using watercolour pencils I sometimes trace around the edges of the images just to accent them, and I draw the lines. Then I go over the lines in white to tone them down. I decided to use white gel pen to write.



And worked in a friends Altered Dictionary:



The picture is not stuck down, just sitting there so I can think about it. It sitting on top of some of the words. The dictionary word I chose was "fragrance" This page is just started, not finished. Perhaps I will finish it tomorrow.

I Look at Some Online Challenges

So, today I was wondering what I would do, since I had completed the things I needed to do. I worked on my Journal, adding some magazine cut-outs. I was looking for interesting images with colors that would go with what I had, nothing more. I found a few and added them. I glue these down with Liquitex Glazing Medium. It's liquidy, paints on smoothly with a brush, then I go over top of the image as well, like decoupage.

Below is the box of magazine cut-outs I keep. Just anything that catches my fancy!

As I was wondering what to do next, I remembered all the Challenge Blogs that I look at each week, and say "I don't have the time. . ." Well, now I do! So I chose 2 challenges to do in one -GPP Street Team (my fav) and 4X4 Friday. GPP Street team is doing stencils, very cool technique, using a crayon, rub the stencil with paper over top, then paint over with acrylic paint, spritz with water, and gently rub off. Easy! 4X4 wanted an orange and yellow color palette, so this is what I came up with:



But, it's not finished yet. I will leave it until tomorrow and we'll see what I come up with to finish it, if anything. (Image from Altered Pages)

Some May Challenges

Since my DH's knee surgery and subsequent recovery, I haven't had much time to do much! But I did have these two challenges to do, and now that DH is a little less reliant on me, perhaps I can get more done~

The newest Yahoo group that I have joined is called Colour Postcards. It's a really neat group where we choose a colour combo each month, and make postcards for the people on our list, like a Mingle. May's combo is Turquoise and Salmon. So here is my first colour postcard for the group:

I have 7 more to do...

The next piece is for my Byhand Artists group, for what is lovingly called a "Yalpha Mingle". We choose a letter each month (our own choice) and make a 4X4 page for it. This month I chose "P", because I am reminded of the upcoming Proms for the high school students. I didn't go to mine, my DD went to hers, it always seemed so feminine and wonderful, I wish I could go back in time and go to my Prom!

This weekend is a long weekend in Canada, called Victoria Day. It's not as warm as I would like it, but it's nice to have a day off from work. Only one month left before I can do art all summer!

November Mingle

This month I chose Diwali (or Divali) for my Holiday Mingle for ByHand. I had some gorgeous napkins that remind me of India, so I used those for the background. Diwali is a Festival of Lights, so I added lots of jewels! The page on the back opens up to explain the holiday.

Twelve Days of Christmas Fat Book Page

I finished my "Eleven Pipers Piping" page for my ByHand Artists group. I made a Mandala with ten pipers, and put the 11th in the middle. The wheel turns! This was a fun one to do, and a challenge with the Mandala.

I have been home sick lately, and so took the opportunity to try something new - a digital Mandala. I was given a tutorial link here and followed the directions, and viola!

I also made another one for a 4X4 fat book, I'm just waiting to see if I am allowed to use it!

Still home today, maybe I'll do another one!

August Mingle page

This 4X4 page was done for the Byhand Yahoo group ongoing "This 'N That Mingle". This month I chose "Less Salt More Herbs" day, August 29th.




I used a photo of a saltshaker form the internet, a Margerita Colour Mist for the background, and Stampin' Up stamps. There is kosher salt glued onto the salt shaker and oregano glued onto the herb shaker. The back gives herb names and what they are used for.
