WOYWW #639

Another Wednesday, time for a peek at each other's desks and projects! If you would like to learn more, just go to http://www.stamping-ground.blogspot.ca/p/what-is-woyww.html. Maybe you could join our little group!

HI all! I'm a day late...waiting for the pictures on my computer to co-operate, which I just figured out how to do. But I forgot yesterday how to do it...senior moment I guess! It's taking me ages just to post this one photo!

Here is my desk yesterday morning:

I couldn't even add notes to it this time. Hopefully next week the computer will be co-operating.

Here are some pics of a project I'm working on. I signed up for a week long workshop with Marjie Kemper to make a Mini Art Journal. Marjie is the Queen of Distress Inks, and I hadn't worked with them for a long time, so I thought I would do a "refresher course"! So here is day one:

Next week I will (hopefully) be able to show you the next 4 days.

Last Wednesday we went on an adventure to Ottawa to the Van Gogh Exhibition. Not real Van Gogh, but a really neat "show" of his art. It was in a big room (unfortunately it was a very hot day and there was no AC or ventilation) with images projected on the walls and the floor. The images were constantly changing, it was very cool!

The "show" was about 45 minutes long of constantly changing, morphing and evolving Van Gogh paintings and quotes, it was amazing! And of course it leads you out through the (very expensive) Gift Shop!

I started a Keto (low-carb) diet a month ago and I'm experimenting with ways to have bread without having real bread. So I made some "Chaffles". Waffles made with cheese, eggs and almond flour. Here was my Chaffle sandwich the other day:

Cute, isn't it? It's made with a mini-waffle maker!

That's it for me, a day late, I will try to get to as many as I can this week, last week was a bomb :-(

The kitties are doing well, the heat has gone away (for awhile), and it feels like Fall already.

Hello to all my cyber-friends! I'm not sure I could have survived the last year and a few months as well without you! My count is 462 days since I left work due to the pandemic, and I will be counting until I am fully vaccinated, which will be on July 13th! Then I am (sort of) free again!

You are here to see my desk, well here it is. I am in mid-production of my latest project, which hopefully I can show you next week. You saw the first step last week on my desk.

We had Father's Day last Sunday, which I think most of you did as well. Here is my card to my hubby

And from the kitties

(Tim Holtz cats)

We had a Father's Day feast of Take-Out Chinese food - our favourite! We always order way more than we need so it will last a few days!

Now for that project, if you watch Bohemian Crafting videos you will know what this is, if not...

That's all you get for now!

Garden: You have been so kind to me about my garden, thank you. I do not consider myself a "gardener" but over the years things have started to look good! Hubby got a birdbath fountain for the birdbath for Father's Day, it's so mesmerizing to watch! It works through solar power, so on sunny days we get this, and on cloudy days we get spurts...

These Chinese Bellflowers were given by a neighbor last year - so pretty! Purple and white ones

and my rosebuds...are now roses! We don't get too many, so this is the best way to enjoy them

Here are Mittsy and her friend Loki hanging around the watercooler...

And Mittsy approving our new addition, a Spirea bush with 3 different coloured flowers when it blooms!

My DD finally gave me her permission to post a picture of my new granddaughter, Jasper Jane! Here she is at just over 1 month old...smiling at her Mom for the first time (usually she only smiles for her Dad!)

I will leave you with Mittsy at her finest, lounging in bed with hubby and me as we watch Dr. Who...

I will try and get some pics of Inky next week, she's a bit less active and less flamboyant!

The kitties say "meow!" and I say "Have a wonderful week!

Another Wednesday, time for a peek at each other's desks and projects! If you would like to learn more, just go to http://www.stamping-ground.blogspot.ca/p/what-is-woyww.html. Maybe you could join our little group!

Hello! Today is the first sunny, warm(ish) rain free day we've had in awhile now! The temperature will actually go up to 15°C (59°F), a temperature we haven't felt for at least a month!

Well, lets get to desks, I haven't created any art this week, the week has flown by, I only got around to replying to everyone yesterday! I don't know where the days go! In the pandemic lockdown with "nothing" to do and nowhere to go you would think I have lots of time! But I have gotten onto such a scheduled routine of things I have wanted to do, that the days fly by.

So here is my desk, I'm still working on gluing unmounteds and getting them in their proper places.

I do have some tidying up to do!

I have wanted to properly play the piano for decades. I've always had a piano, I've taken a few lessons here and there, but now the the pandemic I decided to give it a real try, complete with daily practicing, so I am taking an online piano course called Piano in a Flash with Scott Houston. I'm already on course 4! The last song I learned was "Great Balls of Fire"! I'm having a great time, learning a LOT, and going at my own pace.

I also go for a walk every day in my quest to lose some weight, which seems to be working. Right now, these are the flowers I'm seeing most of - do you know what it's from?

We have lots of these beautiful trees in my neighborhood, they are Magnolia trees! They bloom before there are leaves on the trees, and last only a couple of weeks.

This is what I see from my backyard window almost everyday...

Papa fox babysitting! This is a close-up, here is the real view

Only one yard over!

Sunday was Mother's Day here, my lovely daughter sent me a surprise...

A Frida Paint-by Number! Should be fun!
And we had a feast from a local restaurant, this was mine:

So delicious!

Well that's it from me today, here is Inky doing her favourite thing
Rooting through the garbage to find a piece of paper to play with! She and Mittsy say "meow" and I say "have a wonderful week"

Mittsy says "Get your Vaccine!"
and "Good for you!" if you have it!

WOYWW #618

Another Wednesday, time to peek at each others desks and projects! If you want to know what WOYWW is, just go to http://www.stamping-ground.blogspot.ca/p/what-is-woyww.html  and all will be revealed!

Happy April!! It seems Spring is finally here, we've been having warmer than usual temperatures lately, with lots of sunshine! I can remember Easter Sundays of the past, when Easter came early, there still being a lot of snow outside, and the kids would hunt for their eggs in the snow! I guess Global Warming is at work.

Here is my desk today. I've been working a lot on my BUJO to get caught up for April.

And here are my BUJO pages

I haven't quite finished my gratitude page, and I have 2 more weekly pages to do. Hopefully it will all be done by the time I have to start May!

The Easter Bunny did come to our house, as he always does, kids or no kids! The chocolate pile is much smaller this year, as I am trying to lose my last 25 lbs...but he still gave me my favourites!

We had our deviled eggs on the porch in the sunshine (until we got too chilly!) made by hubby,

then a lovely crock-pot ham with pineapple, scalloped potatoes, and asparagus. I used frozen sliced potatoes for the first time, and it worked perfectly! Will definitely get another big bag of potatoes for the freezer!

So, we have a nice lot of leftovers to enjoy!

Dessert was carrot cake, made from carrots I had shredded a few weeks ago, and that worked out beautifully as well...but very high in calories :-( so only one piece for me and I gave away most of the rest of it.

It was a very nice Easter in spite of the fact that our DD, who usually comes for Easter, wasn't here for yet another year, thanks to the virus.

I think the nicest part of spring, besides the weather, is the sound of birds singing early in the morning when I open my front door. I'm really looking forward to having my coffee outside when it warms up a bit more! There is a Robin who sits in the top of this tree and torments Inky, who is watching it from the upstairs window. Anyone who has cats knows the sound of a cat watching a bird...

Inky had a run-in with Mr Fox yesterday, but she is very fast and scary and Mr Fox had a very surprised look on his face when I came out to shoo him away!

And here is Inky in her favourite spot once again...

And I just remembered I forgot to do an April 1 photo from my office window, so here it is a few days late...

That big dark spot is the cat's hammock, empty at the moment...no leaves yet, but no snow either!

Well, that's it for us, Inky and Mittsy say "meow, watch out for the foxes!" and I say have a great week, stay safe!
