WOYWW #613

Another Wednesday, time to peek at each others desks and projects! If you want to know what WOYWW is, just go to http://www.stamping-ground.blogspot.ca/p/what-is-woyww.html  and all will be revealed!

Hello everyone! I hope you are all safe and warm, and getting your jabs! We are no where near getting ours yet, even my 90 year old step-father hasn't gotten his. But we have been promised it will start March 15, but for the likes of us over 60's...probably not until June! Crazy!

Anyway, I think I forgot to post the look out my window for February, but here is March:

Still lots of snow!

And here is my desk in the chilly room

And the warmer room - working on my meal planning for next week

I have been doing some art this week, which is nice. My cold room is slightly warming up...
I made a book mark - do you know what I used for the base?

and some ATCs from the masterboard I made last week, and Tim Holtz words

Here are my last two pages of my March Bujo:

I have also finally figured out my Meal Planning pages, which I will post next week if anyone is interested.

Can you help?

I have been having trouble sleeping lately, mostly due to hubby's snoring, and I've been experimenting with earplugs. I get my best sleep with earplugs. I started using the cheap foam ones which worked well, but after a few days my ears started itching and hurting because they were too big. So I ordered some smaller plastic/silicone earplugs for small ears, which worked great the first two nights, but now drive me crazy with the itching. I couldn't wear them last night, I had to take them out. Has anyone else had experience with ear plugs at night that you could share with me? TIA!

I'm sure you are wondering what Inky and Mittsy are up to...Inky as you saw is sleeping under her hammock at the moment. Here is where Mittsy was this morning...
This window looks onto the backyard, Mittsy's favourite playground. She wants so badly to get back outside!

Anyway that's it for us today, have a wonderful week, Inky and Mittsy say "meow!"

Hello there! Thanks for stopping by - looks cold there with all that snow, we are now back to rain. I had to give in today and put on a big jumper again - amazing how much difference 2 degrees on the thermometer and no sunshine makes!! Thanks for your positive comments on the wedding plans - the original plan was indeed to get married in the woods but the bride's family wanted a church ceremony (I did advise them it wasn't worth alienating your parents for a couple of hours in church) so we opted for a 'close family only' official church wedding and another celebration in the forest for friends and wider family where they would repeat their vows etc. The setting is beautiful (mind you I've only been when the sun is shining....) and I know we will have a lovely day. There will just be far fewer of us at each event!! Have a great week, stay well stay safe, love n hugs, Cindy x #18

Hi Linda. Fun art there this week, Linda. Well done for using that master board. Can't help with the ear plug issues I'm afraid. I have never used them at all - even though hubby did snore, I couldn't afford not to waken if he needed me, so couldn't risk them. One daughter wears them, but I don't know what sort or anything - sorry. Love the view of snow from your window - but then, I am a massive fan of snow!! Living so close to the beach we don't get much, if any, each year.
Take care. God bless.

Fabulous atcs and projects! can't help with ear plugs I am afraid - I sleep poorly but no idea if I snore unless that's what wakes me up, lol!! Thanks for visiting - I have to make an appointment for my vaccine - and all the places they are recommending based on where I live are miles away so I'm dithering about booking it for now! I should get "done" eventually at my Doctor's surgery so may hold off a few days and see if they call me. Helen #5

Hi Linda, you did great work with that masterboard, love those ATC's especially the imagination one with the film strip in the background. Yes I can see you still have the snow, hope it thaws and gives you a blooming great Spring. You must be allergic to some kind of plastic contained in the ear plugs have you tried pure cotton wool? They may be a help if you are sensitive to certain properties. I have a pet stalker too.. she's never too far away from my side even at bedtime. Happy WoywW Hugs Tracey xx

I'm sorry to hear about the snoring. I tried earplugs but couldn't get comfy with them so tried kicking him in the back Lol! which works for a few seconds so does pushing them a little but I'm sorry to say there really is only one option and that is another bed when things get too much for you although I do have a friend who is a doctor and it's actually her that snores not her husband and her remedy is to give him sleeping pills so that he doesn't wake up when she snores but not sure that's a good idea either. Have a very creative week and a happy woyww, Angela x19x

I knew that wonderful masterboard would make great ATCs! We have years of snoring experience here - for about 20 years it was my husband snoring and me poking him / trying ear plugs but I have very sensitive ears anyway and they itch frequently for no reason. Now it's me that's overweight and I have issues with my sinusses so it's me snoring. I'm due to see ENT soon. Is his mouth open? If so, you can get a mouthguard which kind of holds it closed. You can put things into his PJs to stop him sleeping on his back if that's the issue. Or you can try nasal strips which hold the nasal cavities open. I snore sitting up with my mouth closed so none of these work! We have to sleep separately during the week so he gets a decent sleep for work as he can't wear ear plugs for the same reasons as me! What a pair we are! Stay safe and keep smiling, Lisa-Jane #7

Sorry I can't be any help with the ear plugs Linda as I have no experience. SOme fab ATCs on your desk today. I do hope Cnada gets the vaccination programm going soon. My brother in BC is now the only member of the family not to have had at least the first jab but the rest of us are all in the UK. He is not yet 50 so he says it will be years at the rate things are moving until he gets one sadly. Meow to the kitties. Stay safe and happy WOYWW. Sarah #3

Snoring first - my hubby was a champion snorer. It ruined my sleep for years. After both his parents got Cpap machines, they urged him to be tested. He has quite bad sleep apnea and that was what caused the snoring. One tip - does your hubby snore then go silent and then snort and carry on? If so it could be sleep apnea! As that is linked to things like heart attacks and stroke, it is well worth looking in to it. How like us women to think WE need to do something to get a good night's sleep because HE is snoring rather than trying to solve the snoring LOL! We did have some luck with the nose strips but not enough, and earplugs leave you too unaware. When the kids were small there was no way I could cut myself off from any distress they might have in the night, and after we were almost robbed there was no way I would take away one of my warning senses IYKWIM.

OK on to craftiness! The bookmark shape reminds me of SOMETHING but I can't put my finger on it! I love both of the saying on them. Yours or from sSmall Talk or the like? So perfect. The ATCS are fab - love the paper dolls on it all.

Good luck with your sleep!

Catching up with the later linkers :D

Really interesting post, Linda! Kitties first of all - poor Mittsy, not being able to go out. I am sure it's far too cold at the moment! Ruby wanted the same yesterday but my hubby was out so she had to wait till today! Love the cat funny - how true. Ruby was under my feet all day yesterday wanting me, and definitely stalking me, and I must have given her at least 20 cuddles!

Love all your ATCs and the bookmark, but I can't guess what the base of it is.

Your bullet journal is fabulous. I'd be most interested to see your meal planner. I've designed a chart on the computer that I've printed out so I can do the initial plan on that, and then I copy the info onto my Paprika recipe app on the iPad (that app is nothing short of totally brilliant). I put things on there that are happening too - like the time of my weekly Tesco delivery, my hubby's zoom sessions in case they require early or late meals etc., and also what I need to get out of the freezer, and what I need to make that day. It's working very well for me. I'm always interested to see how other people tackle this task.

Blogger isn't allowing me to put everything in one comment so I'll put the earplugs/snoring part in a separate one.

Happy belated WOYWW,

Earplugs and snoring! We sorted that by my hubby getting a diagnosis of obstructive sleep apnoea and wearing a CPAP mask - the snoring completely stopped overnight (pun intended)! He really should go back to the Heart & Lung Dept at the hospital and get checked out again now he's lost so much weight, because I suspect he doesn't need it any longer. He used to snore for England and I could literally hear him all over the house, and until he got his machine, separate rooms were the only answer. As Mary Anne said, sleep apnoea is a serious condition that can lead to life-threatening strokes etc. My hubby was actually stopping breathing up to 300 times a night, according to the sleep monitor he used when he was diagnosed. It's a condition mostly in older, and overweight men - one of the things they ask is what collar size they wear. There's too much fat in the neck and throat area which causes the obstruction when lying down and being relaxed in sleep, and it vibrates causing the noise (horrendous!) and does actually obstruct the breathing altogether. This causes the person to wake up, or to rouse partially, so that they never get a good night's sleep with the proper progression through the different brainwave frequencies to the deep delta wave sleep. They end up being very tired all the time and liable to drop off really easily during the day. My hubby was told not to drive for 6 weeks until he had gained the benefit of the machine The CPAP machine pumps air with positive pressure, keep the airways open and preventing the obstruction.

I have always found earplugs to be awful - terribly itchy and uncomfortable. A few years ago I stated using a pair of defunct in-ear earbuds that I cut the bottom piece of cable off so they are just a shorter length of cable with a bud on each end. They were noise-reducing ones and work very well. I don't use them at home but they've been brilliant when I've been in hospital, where there is always so much noise throughout the night to prevent good sleep - I sleep badly enough as it is!

I have got a new wireless set on order now (due to arrive in a few days) - called a Sleepband (https://sleepband.com/) which can either be worn like a hairband or over your eyes as an eye mask. There are speakers in it, and a control on the front, which are all removable for washing - it's wireless (bluetooth). I thought this would be brilliant for when I'm in hospital, and also I've been trying some different sounds to help with sleep. There are loads of YouTube videos of binaural beats at sleep frequency which help one's brain settle down, some accompanied with relaxing musical sounds. You can also just listen to white noise which is very good for cutting out other sounds. Sometimes if you can't eradicate one sound, you can counteract it with another. Sleeping with earbuds in isn't always that comfortable, but I think the Sleepband is going to be brilliant. I'll let you know how I get on. I hope this helps, anyway.

Ummm....no luck or help on the ear blugs or the snoring I used to just elbow hubby and tell him to STOP SNORING!! he doesn't really to it now!
And the cat follower! Yes, Mr Jinx does that all the time, usually because he thinks he should have cream when we have our evening meal... My ATC's are usually cereal cardboard cut to size. Stay safe, keep crafting! Happy WOYWW?! (((Lyn)#16

Thank you for your return visit, Linda - so glad you are enjoying the kitty throw! More progress has been achieved this week, as you will see tomorrow. I did hear back from the blender company - I think my threats to report them to Trading Standards put the wind up them, and they sent me a new jug free of charge. The blender works fine now. However, now I've got the Vitamix which is altogether a better blender, it has taken up residence in the cupboard to be used as a spare in case of emergencies, although I don't anticipate any. It's good to have a standby, though, because it's something I use literally every day and more than once a day.

I'm glad your hubby is getting a sleep test - it's really important to get on top of sleep apnoea asap as it's really dangerous. You won't need earplugs with the CPAP machine - they are remarkably quiet. I've written a piece about the SleepBand earphones in tomorrow's blog post so keep an eye out for that they arrived on Monday and I'm very pleased with them. You could certainly use them for walking - or any activity. The band would keep the hair out of your eyes too!

Lots more kitty activity in tomorrow's blog post too. They are very sweet together and endlessly entertaining - as you say, like yin and yang, they are two halves of a whole, and I love thinking about how they've always been together all their lives, even in their mummy's womb!

See you tomorrow.
