Another Wednesday, time for a peek at each other's desks and projects! If you would like to learn more, just go to http://www.stamping-ground.blogspot.ca/p/what-is-woyww.html. Maybe you could join our little group!

Happy April! We woke up this morning to a lovely thunderstorm, and it will probably rain all day. That's what April is for! Bring on the green!

Here is my desk this morning, I have a lovely prepared watercolour sheet to play with, all my favourite colours!

I carved 2 new stamps this week:

And here is how I used them this week:

I love how they both turned out!

Here are a couple pages in my little mini journal that I did this week:

and some pages from my full sized journal:

On this page I added the script in the half circles - I photo copied one of my pages of script on to a round label sheet, which made them easy to add to this page!

I added the rainbow crown to this stamp! It changes her whole personality!

Well that's it for me this week, I am busy cleaning house for Easter visitors, so I'm not sure how much art will get done, but I will have pics!

Here is Inky, waiting for Spring to actually arrive so she can go out and sleep in the sunshine on the porch. Not today though!

It is so nice to watch the rain obliterate the snow that was left! Have a wonderful Easter weekend!

Spring is so fickle...we had, hopefully, our last blizzard-like weather, and how nice it was that none of the snow stayed! We still have patches of old snow piles here and there, but we also have bulbs starting to push their way through! How I love Spring!

Here is my desk this morning, a bit boring I'm afraid...

That's because I spent most of yesterday planning out Jasper's Quiet Book that (hopefully) I'm making her for her birthday, hence all the markers.

Have any of you ever made one of these books? I was planning on using all felt, but last night someone told me to use denim because you can wash it. I had never thought of that before, but she had wild boys...has anyone made a felt one, and how did it stand up? Any tips?

Anyway, I did work on my journal this week, and carved a couple of new stamps, a leaf and a woman:

I think I now have to work on getting my lines thinner.

Here are the pages I worked on this week:

The blue girl asked for the fox...
This was in my little journal

I added the boy to this one

I added the words to this one - all stickers

I used hand carved stamps for this border, Oxide Distress ink and embossed it all because I have found the Oxide ink takes forever to dry

The hand is a stencil from Megan Quinlan, and I think I free-handed the feather.

That's it for me for today. I did make a purchase, however I forgot to take a pic of it, a new magnifying glass on a stand with a light. It's called a "8 X Magnifying Glass Light with Stand and Holder, 3 Color Modes 10 Steps Dimmable, 2 in 1 Real Glass LED Lighted Magnifier with Adjustable Swing Arm for Handicraft Repair, Reading, Craft, Close Work"

It has made a HUGE difference! Why didn't I buy this years ago? Especially with carving stamps! Oh well, the cats are raring to go outside in the sunshine, but come running right back in because the temperatures are still hovering around 0°. Brrr!

Have a wonderful week,

PS: I try to make all my words in the largest font, and Blogger assures me that it is all largest, so I apologize if Blogger is lying...

Spring has finally arrived! Someone just needs to tell the snow to go away! The birds are chirping, which is always nice to hear.

I have been sick since the weekend, so nothing has been done since then, but here is my desk this morning, pretty quiet:

I did get a few things done last week before I got sick. Do you remember this? I really disliked this page...

And here it is now...

I like this much better!

A friend and I went to the only stamp store we have in our city last week, and I got a Dina Wakely stamp set, some blank stencil sheets, and a couple of chip board dragonflies and twigs which I am sure will come in handy one day!

So of course I had to use the stamps right away!

I also worked on my Fodder School 1 lesson on incorporating your handwriting into your journals, wild writing, secret writing, it's all fun, so I practiced here...

and here behind the stamped words...

and here inside a flower in my tiny art journal

I really like the effect!

Well that's it for me, I'm going to grab a muffin and some coffee and rest, hopefully this cold will be gone soon! Isn't getting sick while retired lovely! No stress on getting back to work before completely better! Love it!

Take care, enjoy your Spring, the kitties say "meow" and they can't wait to get outside!

Hello everyone! We have a glorious sunny day today, though still  very cold at -5°C, feeling like -12°! I hope you are warming up for spring - I can't wait!

Here is my desk this morning, I'm working on a kind of star crown for the head on one of my pages that I didn't like. Hopefully this will fix it! I will show you next week if it did.

Last week I mentioned that I was going to make a few stamps of my own, and that is what I did this week! This is the most recent stamp - a fox!

And here is where I used it in my journal

Here are two more stamps I carved this week. I started with the girl, then wondered why hadn't I ever used "man" stamps, so I made one of those too

And this is how I used them in my journal

This page was a page I didn't like, it had a big orange butterfly where the man is now. I took it off and I had outlined in black around the butterfly, which was left on the page. Here is a great tip for removing things like that - use hand sanitizer! It came off easily with hand sanitizer and a Q-Tip! You can't tell at all that there was a butterfly outline behind the man! (I also carved his hat)

And this guy is just starting a new page

Here are some more pages I worked on this week:

Here is a Character Construction man stamp that I found...

I added words to this page

And to this page

The ladies open up...

Mittsy did survive her trip to the vet...apparently she is overweight. Oh well, she has a summer to run it off!

Next week it will be SPRING!!! It may not look like it, but things will be warming up, and the kitties and I can't wait! Have a great week, and "meow" from Inky and Mittsy!

Hello all! Today will be short and sweet for a change. We had company this weekend, and I am trying to rest my very sore shoulder. I did get a bunch of images painted and cut out, and I managed one page this week, hopefully I can do better next week! So here is my desk this morning. I am trying to design some stamps to carve because the stamps I want to buy are just too expensive with shipping on top. I thought I would try my hand at making my own, similar, not exact copies. Not easy!

Here is the journal page I made this week using Megan Quinlan's stencil, and the flowers are from a dollar store stencil:

March may be the bringer of Spring on the 20th, but winter is hanging on as long as it can! This was from last Saturday morning:

Mittsy was so depressed after watching the snow all night from her bedroom perch, to sitting in her hammock on my desk staring out at all the snow...I'm sure she thinks it will never go away!

Mittsy goes for her annual check-up at the vet today, she knows something is up because the travel cage is out, she just doesn't know it's for her...yet. Hopefully I will be able to find her before the appointment!

Have a wonderful week, hopefully Spring is closer to you than it is to us!
