WOYWW #615

Another Wednesday, time to peek at each others desks and projects! If you want to know what WOYWW is, just go to http://www.stamping-ground.blogspot.ca/p/what-is-woyww.html  and all will be revealed!

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Living in a University town, St. Patrick's Day in the past was absolutely crazy. The downtown streets were literally packed with beer drinking students wearing silly hats and drunk by lunchtime. It was scary driving down the streets because you were driving though a wave of people who parted as you drove through. This year that definitely didn't happen, and since all the parties took place on the weekend and were fined if there were over 5 people, it was a pretty quiet year. I'm thinking next year they will make up for it.

So, onto my desks today. Here is my craft room desk

And my BUJO desk

My Christmas Gift Card was spent yesterday! My April BUJO is Fairies and Fantasy themed

I made 2 "Mandala" style pages last week in my art journal. I was inspired by one of our own, Sue Renshaw, who makes gorgeous mandalas. I came across a set of Jane Davenport stamps that looked like it could be made into a kind of mandala, so I tried it!

When I started these pages I had no idea what I was going to do, so I glued on some scrapbooking paper, stenciled over it with triangles, then found these stamps. I used markers to colour, and you can see the stenciled triangles peeking through the black. I stamped the eyes onto sticker paper, coloured them and stuck them on.

Vaccines are happening all around me! People 80+ can get vaccinated, and people 60-65, but not us 65-80 yet. Craziness! Many of my younger friends are vaccinated. Hopefully our turn will come soon.

I will be thinking of Shaz on Friday, as her family says good-bye on last time. Goodbye but not forgotten, Shaz.

Well, that's it for me. It's s-l-o-w-l-y warming up here, the snow is receding, but realistically our date for no more below zero nights is May 24th. So it will be awhile, and we could possibly get snowed on again!

Here is Mittsy after less than 5 minutes outside this morning...

And now she's conked out in the hammock on my desk! (Inky's still outside)

Have a wonderful week, the kitties say "meow"!

Happy St Patrick’s Day! I think it’s funny that it is celebrated so much over in your continent than it is here in the UK! Love your mandala card, it worked really well...I agree that Susan’s are fantastic. So much patience! It’s typical of cats isn’t it, mine has a perfectly good cat flap but he’ll sit and yolk through the patio door or be let in...crazy creature!

Hi Linda. A strange order for your vaccinations, as you say. But hang in there - your turn will come soon. It is almost 3 weeks now since my first vaccination, so I am planning on being out and about a little more soon. Might even book myself a holiday -although it will have to be a self catering place on my own - or I could perhaps snaffle the family touring caravan, and go a little further. The trouble with that idea is that the site showers would need to be open. Our caravan is 39 years old - far to old for such refinements as our own shower! Oh well... as it's 12 months to the day since I slept anywhere other than my own home, I suppose a few more days to wait won't be such a hardship, will it:-(
Take care. God bless.

Happy St. Patricks Day to you too though we don't really celebrate it here though I'm sure the Irish do. The Mandalas are beautiful, well done with those. The vaccine plan seems a bit odd, hope you get yours soon. It's been cold here again today but I guess it's that time of the year when the weather is changing all the time. Have a lovely week and a very happy woyww, Angela x18x

Your mandala card is great and I love the new Lavinia stamps and theme for April! I am having my vaccine this week (aged 46) but only because of an underlying heart condition. Here in the UK we are at the 55+ year olds being vaccinated (I think) although it is slightly dependent on where you live. Happy WOYWW. Take care and stay safe. With love & God Bless, Caro x (#12)

I bet the town was eerily quiet when normally it would be busy... at least everyone stayed safe! Fabulous mandala pages, how beautiful. Helen #3

Lovely mandala page! I love all the Jane Davenport supplies but I don't have much at all, it's so expensive. You've made great use of them here! Stay safe and keep smiling, Lisa-Jane #8

Hi, Linda!

Yes, it still is Wednesday here, barely! Sorry to be so late.

We have had a few days in the 60’s, then a few of rain. And I think today may have hit 70! The odd thing is that it still gets below freezing at night. We could always get one last snow storm, there’s always one more right?

Looking forward to the fantasy and fairies pages. I love Lavinia stamps but haven’t gotten any yet. I belong to a Christmas card FB group and a couple ladies create with those stamps. They seem to have a technique or a certain look to them.

And a woman also needs a cat or two....

Stay safe and well.

Happy Wednesday

Happy belated St Patrick's Day Linda. My brother is called Patrick but I can't say we have ever celebrated it in particular. Love the mandala pages - those stamps have worked so well. The fairy/fantasy theme sounds great for your BUJO in APril. Meow to the kitties. Stay safe. Saarh #6

I love the picture saying women need wine and a cat! I don’t blame Mittsy wanting to come in out of the cold! There is a Lavinia Exravaganza on Facebook at the moment. They make lovely stamps. Have a great week Angela #17

Do you really have to wait until May 24th for Spring to arrive? I don't think I could bear that! Maybe you'll get early Spring this year, fingers crossed! Here in the UK 50+ can now get vaccinated - I've got mine booked for Saturday, hubs got his last week as he's in the 55+ group. Hope you get your call soon too - it doesn't make sense to vaccinate younger people before the older ones. Loving your mandala inspired art - keep those kitties warm! xx zsuzsa #21

Weird, isn't it? Hubby and daughter got dates for their 2nd dose when they got the first one, but I got mine first and got no date for dose two! Now worried about all the chatter about short supplies. So annoying, but what can you do? I just try to be patient and trust it WILL happen. Love the Women need wine & a cat image. so cute, even from a not-cat person. I love the mandalas as well, just lovely.

Crazy week, so late..

Students here celebrate St Patricks Day too -I think they celebrate quite a few things that a lot of others pass by! I suppose it's any excuse to get together ...even in these COVID times - there were quite a few illegal gatherings - quite worrying really! Both of your desks look very tidy. I love the mandala! Love your mandala, Linda - really clever idea and gorgeous colours. The kitties made me smile - Ruby's a bit like that, wanting to come in, but we have more of a problem getting Lily in. We haven't had snow this year (apart from that earth-shattering dusting a few weeks ago!) and they've enjoyed being out. They love it in the summer.

Thank you for your visit and your very kind words! The planning method I've chosen for the blanket is working very well, and is a lot more practical than trying to do it for real, crawling around on the floor, and I can see exactly what I still need to make. It has the added advantage that when I'm on the computer my hubby has no idea what I'm up to! The bag of embellishments is filling up nicely now, to go with the full bag of squares.

We have mostly hard floors downstairs but the kitties usually choose a nice bit of carpet to be sick on if they can!

Happy belated WOYWW,

Love the thingy on your desk, about ideas not coming out the way you had them in your head, I need to print that out! as the card on my this weeks desk is most likely going in the bin!
