WOYWW #614

Another Wednesday, time to peek at each others desks and projects! If you want to know what WOYWW is, just go to http://www.stamping-ground.blogspot.ca/p/what-is-woyww.html  and all will be revealed!

Good morning/afternoon/evening! I hope everyone is well and in good spirits. Today is the first day our temperatures have gone above 0°C in a long time! Hopefully it means we are on our way to Spring. But there is still a good chance we have a couple more snowstorms in our future.

Anyway, here is my #1 desk this morning:

And #2 desk

Last week I challenged you to guess where I got the base for my bookmarks...here are two more I made this week:

side 1

flipped to side 2

And here is where I got the bases! I just couldn't continue to throw these perfect pieces away every time I opened a tissue box!

Some of you were interested in how I do my menu planning in my BUJO, here it is. I worked for a very long time on this, tweaking and changing things. I started with putting everything on colour coded post-it strips, but that just became insane - I have so many recipes I like! So I switched to writing my menus in pencil, and I erase them every month. And I choose my meals from the 3x5 cards.

That's it for menu planning. I have photocopied the pages to add to my next BUJO so I don't have to do it all again by hand! It seems to be working for me so far...

And here, last but not least, Mittsy in the window wanting in, but just before I took this photo Inky was right there playing with Mittsy through the window. It was so funny!

Mittsy asks for this! She loves it! Especially the mice...

So that's it for us, I hope everyone has a lovely week, and the kitties say "meow!"

Hi, Linda! that 's a great use of the tissue box! Hope the cold weather is definitely finished - I've had enough of it too. Helen #3

Those bookmarks are fab and a really great bit of upcycling from the tissue box, you’d never tell! The cat photos made me smile, we used to have a cat who was mesmerised by downhill ski races, lol! He always used to try to catch the skiers but was left disappointed many a time, I’m afraid, lol!! Hooray for warmer temperatures, Spring is on its way.

I'd have never of guessed about the tissue box opener as the book mark base, maybe ours are a different shape, now that's a great salvage. Your Bujo is getting well used, i'm very impressed to see your love and devotion to it.
I did smile about the Mittsy TV, so funny. Have a great week & take care.

and THAT is why I thought it looked familiar - I literally JUST opened a box of tissues the day before WOYWW last week. I should have twigged. I have a stack of the hard cardboard inserts that come when you buy shortie socks from Primark - they have a hole on one end and a lovely curve. I always planned to use them for some sort of mini-book but never got around to it... I was also super chilled by your expanded cold-desk photo. The SNOW. Burrrrr.Nice planner too - I have been looking at the disc binding system for planners and art journals. Have you seen it? I like the fact you can insert and remove pages so easily. I keep threatening to use a planner then fall at the first hurdle. You and Caro are so inspiring....maybe one day (another threat - I won't, I am guessing....)

catching up…

What a great idea for using tissue boxes Linda. Love how you are so organised in your BuJo. Sensible to photocopy the pages so you don't have to continually rewrite them by hand too. Meow to inky and Mittsy. Stay safe and happy WOYWW. Sarah #4

I am guilty of keeping things like tissue boxes for my craft. My last junk journal was all pieces cut from Corona beer carriers...
Very impressed with the menu organisation!
Stay safe and keep well.
Happy WOYWW!

Hi Linda,
your cat cartoon was spot on. Ours always things we're just there to hold the door for her. She likes looking over my shoulder at my phone, loves anything that moves well.
Great journal, and you're impressively organised with food logging and planning.
take care, stay safe

Great ideas with the menu planning. There was a local lady recently wondering if anyone could make use of her mum's freezer log that she'd found. 35 years of logging everything in and out and portioning it up and attributing costs etc. As a scrapbooker I found it fascinating and tried to do it myself. Too many people use our freezer that forget to write things down though! As always, stay safe and keep smiling, Lisa-Jane #8

I'd never have guessed what the bookmarks were made of, Linda! The tissues we have have an oval piece that you pull out. It's a great upcycling idea! I laughed at Mittsy! She and Lily both love watching TV, especially wildlife programmes. Ruby isn't so interested. I love the cat funny at the end, too - absolutely typical. What is it with cats and doors? Always on the wrong side of the door, and when you open it, they don't come in. I love your meal planner - it's a lot prettier than mine, which is severely practical. I have an A5 loose-leaf ring binder for my freezer record and I also keep a record of all the spare supplies of dry whole-foods that I store in the cupboards in the flat kitchen, and this saves a good deal of rummaging.

Happy belated WOYWW and cuddles for the kitties,

Hi Linda, I'm late this week as I had to sort some stuff out yesterday ready for my mum coming home. I would never have guessed where you got the base from but I'm just as bad. I love the boxes that my coffee pods come in and now have quite a collection. I am well impressed with the meal planning. That's cats for you lol! Happy creative, belated WOYWW, Angela x19x

Aww, that's such a sweet photo of Mittsy watching the birdie on the screen and when she wants to come in. I often find Oreo behind the glass door like that - so funny. He's also got into the habit of hanging from the door handle and even manages to open the door sometimes. I absolutely love those vintage tags and you seem to be having so much fun with your bullet journal - you make me want to try it! Have a lovely weekend, Linda, and thanks so much for your visit! xx zsuzsa #24

Oh look at that, kitty TV for Mittsy! How clever they are. And how clever you are, the bases for those bookmarks, what a genius idea! Made me think that I might have to rethink the shape of the boxes I buy! My word your menu planning is amazing, your handwriting is just beautiful. You must have a big fridge, your ‘on hand’ fridge list is huge! I hope the weather starts to show improvement, it will be nice to hear that it’s above zero for you!

Hi Linda, sorry for the late visit, love that end picture of the cat, so true! Mittsy looks delightful watching TV. I can quite imagine the thoughts going through her head - the same as mine when I look at a Cadbury’s creme egg in the cupboard:)
Enjoy your weekend Angela #21
