WOYWW #590

Another Wednesday, time to peek at each others desks and projects! If you want to know what WOYWW is, just go to http://www.stamping-ground.blogspot.ca/p/what-is-woyww.html  and all will be revealed!

I hear that the UK is having covid-19 surges again, I hope everyone can stay safe, wear your masks, and carry on! I think a second wave is due for everyone, so we all need to stay vigilant.

I did not post last week because I was in Toronto getting ready for my daughter's wedding! The wedding was on Friday, a beautiful day (but got very cold as the day went into night, the wedding and reception were outside!)

But first things first, here was my desk yesterday afternoon, as I left it last week:

Working on my scroll, and making the sculpy tags for the macrames. There were several trials, until we finally hit on the perfect tag! The tag is edged in gold, and on the back is their initials and the date. All the men got leaves pointing to the right, the ladies got leaves pointing to the left, and on the back, the leaves are crossed!

I can also now show you the big project I was making for the wedding. I was going to keep it a secret until the day, but we ended up talking about it as becoming part of the ceremony, and she loved it! The large tag at the top has their names and date of the wedding. It fit perfectly for their Boho wedding!!

Here they are getting married. The efficient was at the side which is why they were looking sideways.

Then the "altar" was brought into the reception area, an open but enclosed area. You can see the one of the buntings I made from the extra small hangings (there were supposed to be 120 people at the wedding, but we only needed 20 small hangings)

Here is the place setting with the small hangings, everyone had one at their spot.

It got very cold as the night went on, and as we were outside, they set up heaters in the space, but there was also this! We all ended up in this area at the end!

The food was incredible, the people, all close friends and family, were wonderful. They zoomed the wedding so others could watch as well. All in all it was a terrific, wonderful, exciting, and memorable wedding!

So that's it for me. Inky and Mittsy spent 5 days at the "Whisker's Inn", Mittsy did well, and bounced back right away when we got home, but I think Inky was traumatized. She's still recovering. Hopefully will be completely back to her old self in a day or so.

Have a great week! Stay safe!

Congratulations to the Bride and Groom your Daughter looked incredible and a beautiful day. I'm glad to read the limit on people attending did not put a dampener on the day. Keeping warm around an open fire just adds the the romance of it all at the end of the day. Thank you for sharing with us all, your hard work with macrame must have been loved by all, what a lovely way to share creativity with everyone. Hope Inky recovers from her holiday @ the Inn soon.
No enjoy some well earned crafty time at your desk, Happy WoywW Tracey #5 xx

I am so glad all your hard work paid off - the wedding looks fantastic and congratulations to the happy couple!! Hope you're having a good rest after - you deserve it. ~We are indeed seeing surging COVID numbers, which I guess was inevitable. Some people think the rules don't apply to them, which is infuriating and causes the numbers to increase. Helen #3

Hi Linda. What a beautiful day to remember - quite different and utterly unique. Well done on all your hard work. That large hanging is something else.Congratulations to your daughter and her young man.
Yes, various areas in Britain are in local lockdown - not a complete lockdown like before, but more restrictions. It's not good, and I don't think it is going to go away soon! May God have mercy upon us.
Take care. God bless.

Hi, Linda!
Thank you for sharing the pictures of the wedding! Sharing some good and happiness!
And the decor! You outdid yourself! Now they are family keepsakes !

Nothing for me to post this week. We are replacing drywall, insulation and flooring from the leak damage in the basement. I am literally walking around stacks of relocated objects...
Stay safe and well! Congratulations and Happy Wednesday!

Hi Linda, your daughter looks lovely and what a gorgeous dress. So pleased you were able to attend the wedding as there are all kinds of problems with these functions in the UK at the moment. Thanks for sharing those lovely photos with us. Wishing you a happy and creative woyww, Angela x15x

Fabulous 'altar' piece!!
Love all the things you made for the wedding and though it was probably disappointing that only 20/120 could attend, I am sure they really appreciated it...

I love macrame and made lots of hanging for my various pots when I was at uni for my final examination. Must say I did ceramics so as to clear up why I did macrame. But mine was never anything like this. That is absolutely gob smackingly wonderful. Wow, that must have been heavy and hard to work on with that weight. Did you have help? I am just thinking of you doing that and all the favours for the guests and the bunting - wow, what a lot you put into that wedding. But how beautiful the bride was and how proud you must have been on that day. I take my cap off to you and salute you.
Hope Inky is soon back to normal - lots of love and cuddles are on the horizon I can see.
Hugs, Neet (and one for Inky from me, a special tickle under the chin) 7 xx
ps imagine if thre had been 120 guests - how much macrame!

Oh wow, Linda, that's totally awesome!!! What an unusual wedding, and all that macramé is just magnificent! The big hanging is so gorgeous, and then all the little individual ones with people's names... I love how the couple are standing on carpets out of doors too. It's all so different and beautiful.

I'm sorry to hear poor Inky had such a bad time in the kitty hotel. I hope by now she's settling back into her normal home routine. It must have helped having Mittsy along, though, to keep her company. They don't like their routines being disrupted, do they. Give her a cuddle from me! Lily and Ruby say "meaow" and "purr-purr" and "keep smiling Inky!"

Happy belated WOYWW,

Oh Linda it looked perfect, congratulations to the beautiful bride and groom of course, and well done you, the macrame is a wonderful finish to their theme. Your daughter looked beautiful, and a small wedding forced by circumstances has become an intimate and warm wonderful day, you must be so pleased, and still glowing in those fresh memories! Poor Inky, probably gonna have a bit of separation anxiety for a while, he’s probably in shock that you could do such a thing!

Congratulations to the happy couple! Love your daughter's wedding dress - it looks very vintage and what a beautiful setting in the woods - even if a bit cold. Poor kitties having to stay in a cattery - at least they were together. We only ever put Oreo in cattery once when he was still just a kitten - I think the younger they are, the easier it is for them to deal with the change. I would really hate to send him to cattery now, but we might have to one day. Have a lovely weekend! zsuzsa #20

Thank you for your lovely comment, Linda - I'm so glad you enjoyed my latest outfit! Not bad for 2 separate gifts, is it! Also, I think it's great that sharing my story of how my hubby and I met has sparked off others to tell their stories too! I love hearing about it. Amazing that there was another Linda at the wrong number!!

I am very pleased to hear that Inky is back to her normal self again. Poor little thing... Their temperaments are all different. Some are a lot more sensitive than others. Of our 2 old ones, the older one was very sensitive and was terribly upset when I came back from hospital that first time with a stoma - I obviously didn't smell right! She was just getting used to me again when I started my chemo and it completely freaked her out and try as she might to get close to me, as soon as she was within smelling distance she'd freeze and back off. Then she started over-grooming and lost all the fur off her back legs. My hubby took her to the vet and she asked if anything had changed at home - she'd ruled out any physical skin condition that might be causing it - and when he told her that I was having chemo, she said that was it. The other kitty didn't seem to mind. Ruby is a lot more nervous than laid-back Lily and when my cleaning lady comes, as soon as she hears her, she runs into the flat and hides behind the fridge for the duration! She is absolutely terrified of the vacuum cleaner and my cleaning lady also has quite a loud voice and it's all too much for her!!

See you on Wednesday for the next WOYWW I hope!

Hugs,
Shoshi x
