WOYWW #464

Another Wednesday, time to peek at each others desks and projects! If you want to know what WOYWW is, just go to http://www.stamping-ground.blogspot.ca/p/what-is-woyww.html  and all will be revealed!

Hello all! Happy WOYWW! After a few lovely days of sunshine and warmth, I can't even show you because today is cold and rainy! But more of that later on. . . you came to see my desk, and here it is:

Big changes happening on the end of my table - I am making room for a friend to come and play! Usually we go to her place, but she is having her floors replaced, so she wants to come to mine. So I've had to clear off the end of my table (not ready yet though!) I have moved my big guillotine ans one of my twirly whirlys, I will have to get used to everything being on my left side! The things that used to be to my left are now on a shelf behind me. I am also using my empty boxes that used to hold my stamps (of which I am in the process of unmounting) for holding washi tape, sprays, embossing powders, etc. I am currently unmounting my ocean stamps. Hopefully I will be done my next week.

In my first picture you can see a black ATC - that is my WOYWW ATC turned over! This will be the first time I have been actually ready to send one out!

My friend gave me a sample of a technique she had found online (in the 1st photo), and so of course I had to try it before I forgot:

These are Distress Oxide Ink techniques, and can be found here:
Distress Oxide technique and another one here:  Distress Oxide technique 2  I used the first technique on the card with the leaves, but just from the description by Marg, I hadn't seen it yet. Will try it again. I did the rest with the 2nd technique.

I made this one after seeing the video, removed the colour from inside the shell and painted in pink:
Using the ocean stamps that happen to be on my desk this week!

Wondering if Spring has found it's way to Southern Ontario, Canada yet? Perhaps. . .at least we have some rain that is greening up the grass!

And a sure sign is that I have put up the porch curtains to block the hot afternoon sun whilst I sit on the porch with my wine and read. . . not today though!

Here is Inky whining to get back inside where it is warm and dry. . .
but after her treats she wanted to go right back out again! Silly kitty!

Well, that's us for today. Inky says "meow" and I say have a great week!

PS: Julia asked in her previous post how we got into stamping - my story was a visit to the mall, where a stamp company had set up a Pop-up stamp store - I had never seen anything like this before, and stopped to watch a demo on embossing - there I was - hooked! The rest is history. . .it was probably around 1990. I had no money to buy many stamps, but there was an image trading group on Yahoo that I participated in, and I also (don't tell!) used to print off stamp images from stamp catalogues that I had photocopied. The first online group I ever joined was a Yahoo stamping group.

What an amazing space, I love how you labelled it up for us all to see what's inside the boxes without actually seeing whats in them. Have fun with your friend in your amazing work space. I hope the sun comes out again real soon for you to enjoy a wine or two on your equally amazing porch.
Thank you for sharing WOYWW & Meows to Inky.. Tracey #10

Cats really do have a knack of making themselves incredibly annoying sometimes - and I say that as a confirmed cat lover!! My Rob whines for fod, you put some lovely fresh Kitty Mush down and he walks away...I tell him he's ungrateful but it doesn't seem to make any difference!! Love the stamping story - I got into sewing to prove to myself (and my old sewing teacher) that I wasn't completely useless :-D That was 8 years ago!

Fantastic cards with the distress oxides! Look forward to meeting your friend when she comes over - unless she's camera shy, of course. Oreo is the same - in and out, in and out. Yesterday I had to boot him out because he was just so unsettled and then I pretended I didn't hear him when he wanted to come back in. I felt a bit bad about it but he was getting on my nerves LOL! Enjoyed your story about how you got into stamping! Happy belated WOYWW! zsuzsa #12

Won't tell of your secret re your first stamping exploits. Am sure we all have secrets re our stamping.
Say Hi with a tickle to Inky - hope he got let in AGAIN!! Ooh, I remember my cat being like that - even the neighbours cat as well.
Hope you had a good time with your friend around your place, at least it saved you going out in the cold.
Enjoy the Oxides and make more of those lovely cards for us all to see.
Hugs, Neet xx
