Happy January 31st! One more month closer to Spring! Things are looking about the same outside here, but it hasn't snowed in awhile so there isn't quite as much snow as last week. We are actually supposed to get some sun this week! Here is my desk this morning:

I actually have been working quite bit in my art room this week, all journal pages...once I get going it's hard to stop! Some still need words, others I have shown before, but now have words.

I want to start on my Fodder School lesson this week now that I have the right paper.

That's it for me today, I leave you with a picture of Mittsy sitting in a basket in Jasper's room, watching Lara the robot vacuum, clean. She is fascinated with Lara and will sit for a long time watching her, no matter where she is...Inky not so much!

Hello everyone! Here is the view from my window this morning...

a winter wonderland! Soon to disappear under freezing rain...oh well, I'm sure it will come back at some point!

Here is my desk this morning:

Nice and neat because I just finished making my brother's Birthday Card yesterday, and of course, forgot to take a photo. I usually make him Pirate inspired cards, he's a pirate at heart - Arrrgh!

I finished sorting my paints and making little tags for each colour, and found a place for them to live...

The least full basket is orange, probably my least favourite colour, although I did do my new journal in orange, and trying not to regret it! Here are my journal pages from this week:

I can maybe take a little break now and do some Fodder School lessons now! I'm still in Fodder School 1, the lesson I'm starting is ATCs, so we will see how that goes!

Here is a card that my good friend Therese from Alberta sent, I just love it! I miss her a lot, we used to do a lot of art together when she lived here!

Well, that's is for me today. We will be staying put today, freezing rain is not fun, especially on top of snow! Happy Birthday to my baby brother, who never reads my blog, but oh well! The cats say "meow", they won't be going anywhere today either! Have a lovely week!

Finally we have a lovely sunny day with no snow squalls! It has been quite the snowy week so far, with so much snow I couldn't see the houses across the street! We went from no snow at all to mounds of it now. Very pretty from indoors!

Here is my desk this morning. I have spent all week getting my paints sorted and I made a tag for each colour. I didn't realize how many paints I had!

I put the colour tags on rings as you can see in each basket. One thing I discovered - Ranger Dabber Paint is the worst paint I have. Most of them are dried up, and the ones that aren't are chunky. I will probably toss those too. They were expensive at the time, just to have to throw them all out 😢. But the Distress Paints are wonderful, creamy , and I didn't need to throw any away. Most of the rest of my paints are cheap craft paints. Now I just have to figure out where I will put all the boxes! And then hopefully next week there will be evidence of actually using them.

I received 2 handmade cards for my birthday. One of my friends loves Lavinia and makes gorgeous cards, and I love the "70's" look of the other card that my good friend sent, since I am now 70!

Inky and Mittsy are not happy with the snow and the freezing weather (feeling like -18°C today!). Here is Mittsy dreaming of Spring in her hammock (taken before the mounds of snow we got this week!):

I have missed a couple of posts, but now I'm back on track. The Christmas Holidays were a mixture of joy and sadness, as just before Christmas my niece passed away from unknown causes, leaving a 14 year old son and an adult son. It was quite a shock, not at all expected. But as we do, we got through Christmas, as did they with a lot of community support. We spent half the holidays in Toronto and half here with the kids visiting us. This was Jasper's first year of really understanding Christmas, so that was a lot of fun. But not much time to do anything at all in my art room, then I needed some recovery time, and here I am, I finally got into my art room yesterday, and tidied up a little:

And then I made my first journal page of 2024 using on of the last pictures from my Cat Calendar which jumped out and spoke to me. The words I got from one of these "which 3 words in this jumble of words and letters pop out at you first?"

They all seemed to go with this picture of the cat.

So that's it for me today. One of my sisters-in-law is in the hospital with only a few days to live, so that's where we will be today. 

I forgot to mention that my 70th birthday was on January 1st. I can't believe I am 70, such a bizarre concept! So it's been a sad ending to 2023 and a sad beginning to 2024. I can only hope that it gets better as the year goes on.

Well, it's the last Wednesday before Christmas! If anyone else is like me, I haven't even looked at my desk in the past week. I have been too busy doing this...

Anyone want a MOUSE or two? I have had 3 mice at different times (this is the second time we had to do this) jump out at me while cleaning out the mess they made. They even ate through my Tetra Boxes of broth and almond milk!

And once that was cleared up and traps set, I managed to do this:

as well as chocolate Spritz cookies which was pretty much a disaster. Anyway, I'm sure you were all busy baking and /or eating yummy things as well!

My DD took my Granddaughter Jasper to see Santa...

I have the feeling she said "sit in your lap? I don't think so!"

Anyone else have cats who like to take ornaments off the tree? Hubby came up with this brilliant idea when I had removed all the ornaments from the bottom foot or so of the tree:

Those are all their cat toys! Now when I come down in the morning it's just the cat toys on the floor!

We have a beautiful sunny morning this morning, after a week of dreary cloudy and rainy days, but it's still 0°!

Lovely December has arrived! Almost all my cards are made, but I still have to do the insides, and address the envelopes and mail. I am ahead of my usual timing! Here is my desk this morning, ready for some more cards...

My water definitely needs a change! Some handmade stamps  for a journal page I did, some tweezers, scissors, my box to corral my card making stamps and glitter, my TV remote, favourite glue and stamp pad, and that's about it!

I did manage a few journal pages this week:

A couple of letters are obscured by leaves, but I think it can be read!

Last but not least, Mittsy, just hanging out with a snowman!

I really expected to find this snowman on the floor the next morning, but I guess she likes him!

Inky and Mittsy say "meow!" and I say have a crafty week! Enjoy all the decorating for Christmas!
