WOYWW #576

Another Wednesday, time to peek at each others desks and projects! If you want to know what WOYWW is, just go to http://www.stamping-ground.blogspot.ca/p/what-is-woyww.html  and all will be revealed!

I'm very late today, I spent all morning trying to make a slide show, which I have never done before.
Anyway, quite the boring desk today, I actually managed to clean things up a bit after finishing my latest journal!

And then I made these cute little journaling booklets to uses as tuck-in when I need one!

I have made a slide show of my latest journal, but can't seem to get it onto You Tube. (I made it using Picassa) It says my browser (Google Chrome) may not be secure. Has anyone done this before who can walk me through it? Thanks! Hopefully I will have a slide show to share next week.

And that's it for me. Short and sweet today. Hubby is in the hospital after double knee surgery, and I don't know how long he will be there. Inky and Mittsy say "meow" and I say have a great week! Stay safe!

PS: Happy birthday to my good friend Therese - I miss you!

Hello all! Hope everything is going well in your part of the world! Things are starting to ease up here as we are at zero covid-19 cases! We will see what happens...

Here is my desk this morning. One view is straight on, the other is from the end on my table! Big messy difference!

I have been working on my new journal all week, and today I worked on this insert for my last page (although the journal isn't finished yet).

This is the front with a little pocket,
then it flips up like this with space for journaling and 2 pockets

Here is one of the inserts

I got this idea from Bohemian Crafting.

Garden:

things are starting to bloom, like my favourite bush in my "grotto". We have a dead tree to get rid of right in the middle of it though!

Today I have to take Inky to the vet for her annual checkup and shots. They won't let me in, I have to sit in the car. It will be her first time at the vets without her mom. I'm sure I will be more traumatized than she will!

We still have to watch out for foxes, the cats had an encounter this week with one of the kits. It's funny how I am only alerted by the fox and not and growling or hissing on the part of the cats! As soon as I get them inside Mittsy goes crazy wanting to get back outside to see the fox!

Mittsy and Inky say "Meow" and I say have a great week! Stay safe!

Another Wednesday, time to peek at each others desks and projects! If you want to know what WOYWW is, just go to http://www.stamping-ground.blogspot.ca/p/what-is-woyww.html  and all will be revealed!

Greetings to all from still chilly Canada! I think we had our summer last week, and now we are getting cold again! I hope your weather is better than mine...

Here is my desk this morning:

Looking fairly neat, I spent the week making these ephemera books.
I saw the idea on Roxy's Creations on You Tube, and thought it would be a great idea to have a bunch of my bits and pieces in booklets where I could easily see them and use them, and I would just keep replenishing them as I used them up. I decided to use a children's book as a base since I have hundreds of them in my basement, and I chose a board book to begin with, then a couple of Little Golden Books because they have perfect hard covers.
(I didn't actually use this one...saving it because I love the story!)
I tore out every other page, then covered everything in dictionary paper.
Then, using tracing paper, I made strips and glued them in to hold the ephemera.

Voila!

The small one is made from a board book, but I only had one of those, but made in the same way.

But first made the covers, that's my favourite part!

This is probably all I will need, but if I need more I have more books!

Garden:

I didn't get to show you the most perfect day in the garden last week. We generally only have one or two perfect spring days, and this was it this year:
 Honeysuckle

 Crab Apple Tree

Lilacs

Bird bath
Everything was so beautiful that day! We have had several days of cold and rain since then, so today everything is pretty drab, most of the flowers have fallen from the tree, and the colours are washed out. But it was nice while it lasted! Hopefully  the perennial garden will start to bloom soon.

Here's Mittsy in her usual pose on my lap just after I've finished my dinner, she's such a creature of habit!

I hope everyone has a lovely and safe week, Mittsy and Inky say "meow"!

Another Wednesday, time to peek at each others desks and projects! If you want to know what WOYWW is, just go to http://www.stamping-ground.blogspot.ca/p/what-is-woyww.html  and all will be revealed!

Hi fellow deskers! Hope all is well in your little spot on the globe. We are finally enjoying summer weather, and the tress and flowering bushes are finally flowering. It was a long wait!
Here is my desk this morning:

My i-cloud doesn't seem to be working well again, only saving one photo from the many I took yesterday. Frustrating. I had to email my desk photo to myself and save it that way. Grrr.

My lovely daughter had her 34th birthday yesterday, here is the card I made for her, it is a triangular stand-up card!:

Other than the card I've been working everyday on my new journal. It has become a black-and-brown journal rather than a black-and-white journal, as the contrast was too much. No pictures yet, though, I will try and get some for next week.

Garden:

My i-cloud photos of the garden have not landed yet, so I will wait until next week. But here are Inky and Mittsy in the same photo!

And my little perennial garden, you can see how far behind we are than you over the pond!

Anyway, that's it for me, Inky and Mittsy say "meow", and I say stay well, stay safe, and stay busy! Have a great week!
PS-I am showing my previous journal pages on Instagram, one per day. If you are so inclined, you can find me at @lindart61

 Happy Anniversary everyone!

I haven't been here since the beginning, but I have been posting a long time now!

Here is my desk this morning: Working on my new journal, and starting my daughter's birthday card.
I keep thinking that I want to start my own You Tube channel, even if no watches it. I have been so inspired by other you tube channels - it can't be that hard, right?

We were challenged to finish a UFO for today. I started with one idea then started doing something else. Beside my bed I have a little set of 3 drawers. The top drawer was FULL of collage sheets I had printed out over the years, with the intention of cutting them all up while watching TV. Well, that didn't happen. Now that I am using collage sheets more, I decided to finish cutting up the sheets in the drawer. It was literally filled to the top.

I put the tiny pieces in individual bags sorted by theme,
And the larger pieces in bags sorted by colour (with small bags inside for more tiny pieces)

It is now much easier to find things I want to use! It did take a long time, and my cutting muscles did start to hurt...poor me!
So I am very glad I got that UFO project done! I look forward to seeing what everyone else did!

We finally have nice weather, it was a very long time coming!

Look how big Mittsy is!

And here's Inky, resorting to sitting in a pot because we are sitting in the chairs...

I hope everyone is well, or recovering if not feeling well, hopefully things will get back to some kind of normal soon. Have a great week, stay safe! Happy Anniversary!

WOYWW #571

Another Wednesday, time to peek at each others desks and projects! If you want to know what WOYWW is, just go to http://www.stamping-ground.blogspot.ca/p/what-is-woyww.html  and all will be revealed!

Hello everyone! I hope everyone is in good health and good spirits today! I also wish those who are sick a speedy recovery.

Here is my very messy desk this morning:
I am working on the signature of my new journal, which is kind of a "black and white" theme, but I didn't like the stark look of a white signature, (and the paper was too thin) so I chose a better paper and painted one side black. That was also too stark with one side black and the other white, so now I will glue the coffee dyed paper to the white side of the painted pages, and I think that will work well. Hence the spray glue. I have to do it outside though. (It's darn cold out there!)

But most of my time this week was spent at this "desk".
A few months ago I sorted out some of my collage sheets into envelopes by colours. That was fine, but I never used them. So this week I cut all those sheets up, as well as another drawerful that I have had sitting there for literally years. I also have small bags of tiny pieces to they don't get lost in the big envelopes, and the box has small bags of topics, such as children, butterflies, Halloween, etc. Hopefully these will now get used, since I can move them right onto my pages and not have to cut anything out. One envelope has stickers. I still have more to do, but it's almost all done. I do realize, however, that I don't have any birds! I will have to print some out. I also want to make a few pages of stamped images to cut out.

We had our Mother's Day this past Sunday, my DD sent me flowers and chocolates, and we had a nice long Face Time chat in our Jammies, just as if she were home. It was so nice! Hubby bought us a take-out dinner from our local "gourmet restaurant" and we had a nice romantic dinner. Almost nicer than being in the restaurant!

And it snowed last week. Snow! In May! And again yesterday! I can't wait for nice weather to come, I'm so sick of this cold.

Mittsy had a run-in with the fox the other day. Hubby saw it cross the street so went to get the cats, Mittsy had already found it (or vice-versa) She was all fluffed up, but otherwise OK, she didn't really know what the fox was. Hubby chased it off, brought the cats inside, and all Mittsy wanted to do was go back out!
She has never climbed up to the door window before, but she was determined to look out! Crazy cat!

 Today is grocery shopping day!

Well that's all for me. Mittsy and Inky say "meow" and I say "have a great week! Stay safe, stay busy!"

WOYWW #570

Another Wednesday, time to peek at each others desks and projects! If you want to know what WOYWW is, just go to http://www.stamping-ground.blogspot.ca/p/what-is-woyww.html  and all will be revealed!

Hello everyone! I hope you are all well, we are well here, just starting to enjoy the Spring weather, although it is still quite cold, and warm days are few and far between. But the leaves on the trees and bushes are just starting to pop out!

On to my messy desk, I finished my junk journal, and am now making a new one, copying the style of my old one. I'm making the cover, then will add my signature of coffee dyed papers.

Here is the last page of my old junk journal, including the big tag inside:

The pocket is from Bohemian Crafting, a download

I don't remember where the dog with wings is from

and I leave with the Global Pandemic numbers from April 1- May 1, pretty horrifying.

Look who we found in our backyard on Sunday morning:

Don't worry, she looks dead, but is just sleeping in the sun on a soft leaf mattress! Hubby and the baby went off jumping the fences in the back, Dad was teaching the little one how to climb (he can easily just jump the fence), and the kit was trying hard, but just couldn't get it. I'm sure it wont take long. This is why Mittsy and Inky stay close to home, and are always on the lookout when they are out. Also I usually go out and sit or garden while they are out, and then they come in with me.

So we leave with Mittsy in her usual spot in the kitchen, watching me while I make dinner!

I hope you have a wonderful crafty week, Inky, Mittsy and I say "meow!" and stay safe!
