WOYWW #467

Another Wednesday, time to peek at each others desks and projects! If you want to know what WOYWW is, just go to http://www.stamping-ground.blogspot.ca/p/what-is-woyww.html  and all will be revealed!

Greetings everyone! It's Wednesday again already! We had a wonderful Spring rain all day yesterday, and today the grass is green, the air smells awesome, and the leaves are popping out on the trees! Can't wait for my spring bushes to flower, should be soon!

Today is the day we share our desks, and I really don't have much to share - not to say I haven't been busy, just not in a very creative way. I have been unmounting all my scene stamps - water, trees, rocks, clouds, etc, which takes time, and doesn't show much except more empty boxes!
My desk this morning. . .

I also sorted out all my stencils into photo albums -

Mother's Day was last Sunday, so I made my Mom this card using my new stencil:

My daughter sent me a dragon card (I love dragons!) and a bluetooth speaker for my phone, as she also got me to listening to Spotify the last time she was here. It's awesome! She's such a wonderful daughter! My baby brother and I took our mom to lunch at her favourite Mexican restaurant - she loved it!

My big project this week was making my eyesore of a stump in our front yard into to birdbath! I was inspired by this post on Pinterest:

Nice use for leftover old bricks.... just stack them up and lay piece of wood on top and then lay a saucer on top.

Here is what I did with it (but it's not finished yet!) This was the planning stage. . .

Then I bought this beautiful bowl. . .

Now visualize beautiful flowers cascading down from around the bowl. . . Hopefully it will be awesome! I still have to fill the "well" with dirt, and plant the flowers. I'm thinking nasturtiums. . .
I can't even see the ugly stump anymore!

Anyway, that's all from me today, Inky says "meow" to all and any cats that are listening!

Have a great week!

WOYWW #466

Another Wednesday, time to peek at each others desks and projects! If you want to know what WOYWW is, just go to http://www.stamping-ground.blogspot.ca/p/what-is-woyww.html  and all will be revealed!

Greetings everyone! I hope everyone's morning is as sunny and glorious as ours is today! Here is my desk first thing this morning:

Not much to show, just trying to get these Martha Stewart number stamps in my Numbers album. The WORST stamps I have ever bought! I had to put tacky glue on the backs of these supposed self-stick stamps. . .will have to now go back and do it to all the letters that came with this set too.

Unmounting all my Stampscapes and scenic stamps. Stampscapes stamps are so easy to unmount - the rubber comes right off! Yahoo! I put the tacky glue on them yesterday so they will be ready for today.

My new stencils! I saw the one with the hearts a few weeks ago one someone's desk, and immediately ordered it, plus the dragonfly! These are from The Crafter's Workshop. Can't wait to use them!

No art this week, just busy unmounting stamps and organizing my space.

BUT. . .this morning it was warm enough to have my morning coffee on the porch!! Yay! You can see my lettuce starting in the big container - no sprouts yet. . .fingers crossed!

And  here is Inky doing her favourite thing, watching the squirrels under the bird feeder! She doesn't chase them, just watches them!

Hope you have a wonderful week, Inky says "meow"!

Another Wednesday, time to peek at each others desks and projects! If you want to know what WOYWW is, just go to http://www.stamping-ground.blogspot.ca/p/what-is-woyww.html  and all will be revealed!

Today will be short and sweet, I had a dentist appointment this morning, lunch with my Mom, and I'm working this evening, so here is my window of opportunity!

My desk this morning:

Nothing much to show as I tidied up yesterday, but the there is something new!!!

Also, I have a secret desk here!:

It is actually very sturdy, and just the right height for pressing on a difficult stamp! Right now you see unmounted stamps that have tacky glue that is drying, and the wood mounts they came from so that I can transfer the information. Also my acrylic blocks are here.

Here is the finished journal page from the other week:

I was telling it I wanted white scribbly writing on it, and it was telling me it wanted colour and feathers. You see who won.

We finally got some sun here in Southern Ontario, Canada, and Inky is loving it.

Me too!

But the bugs are out too! (My wine! Get your own, bugs!)

Hope you have a wonderful week!

WOYWW #464

Another Wednesday, time to peek at each others desks and projects! If you want to know what WOYWW is, just go to http://www.stamping-ground.blogspot.ca/p/what-is-woyww.html  and all will be revealed!

Hello all! Happy WOYWW! After a few lovely days of sunshine and warmth, I can't even show you because today is cold and rainy! But more of that later on. . . you came to see my desk, and here it is:

Big changes happening on the end of my table - I am making room for a friend to come and play! Usually we go to her place, but she is having her floors replaced, so she wants to come to mine. So I've had to clear off the end of my table (not ready yet though!) I have moved my big guillotine ans one of my twirly whirlys, I will have to get used to everything being on my left side! The things that used to be to my left are now on a shelf behind me. I am also using my empty boxes that used to hold my stamps (of which I am in the process of unmounting) for holding washi tape, sprays, embossing powders, etc. I am currently unmounting my ocean stamps. Hopefully I will be done my next week.

In my first picture you can see a black ATC - that is my WOYWW ATC turned over! This will be the first time I have been actually ready to send one out!

My friend gave me a sample of a technique she had found online (in the 1st photo), and so of course I had to try it before I forgot:

These are Distress Oxide Ink techniques, and can be found here:
Distress Oxide technique and another one here:  Distress Oxide technique 2  I used the first technique on the card with the leaves, but just from the description by Marg, I hadn't seen it yet. Will try it again. I did the rest with the 2nd technique.

I made this one after seeing the video, removed the colour from inside the shell and painted in pink:
Using the ocean stamps that happen to be on my desk this week!

Wondering if Spring has found it's way to Southern Ontario, Canada yet? Perhaps. . .at least we have some rain that is greening up the grass!

And a sure sign is that I have put up the porch curtains to block the hot afternoon sun whilst I sit on the porch with my wine and read. . . not today though!

Here is Inky whining to get back inside where it is warm and dry. . .
but after her treats she wanted to go right back out again! Silly kitty!

Well, that's us for today. Inky says "meow" and I say have a great week!

PS: Julia asked in her previous post how we got into stamping - my story was a visit to the mall, where a stamp company had set up a Pop-up stamp store - I had never seen anything like this before, and stopped to watch a demo on embossing - there I was - hooked! The rest is history. . .it was probably around 1990. I had no money to buy many stamps, but there was an image trading group on Yahoo that I participated in, and I also (don't tell!) used to print off stamp images from stamp catalogues that I had photocopied. The first online group I ever joined was a Yahoo stamping group.

Hi all! This will be short and sweet today as I have to rush off to work this morning.

My desk this morning:
My new journal page insisted on the hands, now I'm awaiting further instructions.

My weekend-freezing rain, ice pellets, snow, rain. . .how was yours?

Thankfully, it's spring, and some of it is gone now (just not enough)!

So short and sweet, Inky is meowing to go outside, but since I'm off to work, she will have to wait. Poor thing - the sun is shining today!  Have a great week,

Another Wednesday, time to peek at each others desks and projects! If you want to know what WOYWW is, just go to http://www.stamping-ground.blogspot.ca/p/what-is-woyww.html  and all will be revealed!

Greetings from still cold Southern Ontario! Today is the warmest we've been in a long time, at +3C, or 37.4 F. But apparently we are getting an ice storm on the weekend. Something to look forward to (NOT!).

Here is my desk this morning, I did finally get back to it, since I had to make a birthday card for my SIL!

I also started a new page in my journal. I painted the page with black gesso to begin with, then found some TH tissue paper I had long forgotten I had, so plastered that down. Added some Washi Tape border, and now the pages are flattening under two boxed of mounted stamps. No idea what comes next - I have to wait until it tells me!

Here is the card I made for my SIL, who is off to Vancouver and will probably do some surfing, which he loves to do

I got the idea for the waves on pinterest, but didn't have any white core paper, so I embossed white on the torn edges - I think it works! The "sand" is sandpaper.

And here are Inky's true feelings about the weather lately:

I think she can't wait for the temperatures to go up! Just a little longer, kitty!

Here's wishing everyone a wonderful week, until next Wednesday. . .

WOYWW #461

Another Wednesday, time to peek at each others desks and projects! If you want to know what WOYWW is, just go to http://www.stamping-ground.blogspot.ca/p/what-is-woyww.html  and all will be revealed!

I have been a very bad girl again this week, not even stepped into my craft room this week, therefore not changed a bit. But I can share some of my Easter Weekend with you!

Caution - no art photos past this spot! (Unless you call my cooking art!)

My daughter came to spend the weekend with us, as she does every Easter, we feel so grateful that she still enjoys coming home for family events! On Saturday we have lunch with my mother, where she took this very creative 3 generations photo:

The Easter Bunny always comes while we are at lunch (how does he know?):

And then later that night we have our scrumptious Easter Dinner:

On Easter Sunday we went for a walk to 2 of the 3 beaches near us. The ice is just breaking up, and hubby and I are watching it:

So today we are having lots of rain, all the snow will be gone after today! Inky has been enjoying the sun over the past few days, in and out all day long, she even went out today to sit and watch the rain!

I have to apologize to the people who visited me last week, and I didn't get a chance to visit back. I will do better this week!

Have a great week!
