New Stamps!

I won a pound of new rubber from Viva Las Vegas Stamps on their Friday the 13th Blog Hop!  (Thank you so much!!!) I spent the day yesterday sorting them all out and adding them to my database:

After sorting them into groups, I stamped them onto these envelopes which are numbered as to Box, envelope, and stamp. So UM16-1-5 means UM Box 16, envelope 1, stamp #5

There was a small pile of stamps I know I will never use, so I am going to give them away to the first person who comments to say they want them:

So this is what the finished box of VLV Ums looks like,

And this is what it looks like in my database:

All set now to use them! If you think you might like the group of stamps I'm not going to use, just comment, and I will get back to you for your address.

Thanks for visiting!

Fun Project!

Two weeks ago my good friend and Stamping buddy Marg and I decided to do a project together! we found what we wanted in a current issue of Stampington's Somerset Studio magazine, making a Tag Book of quotes.

Here is what we did on Day 1:

I thinks it's so neat how we both interpret the project in our own way!

Here is Day 2 (yesterday):

Even the way we organize ourselves is different - I had my tags spread out so I could see them all, hers were stacked the way she wanted them, so she could do one at a time.

Here is one of many boxes of unmounted stamps Marg has, this one has lots of quotes in it! All my unmounted stamps are in neat little envelopes, labelled, numbered,  and in my data base, which would drive Marg crazy! She knows where all her stamps are!

So that's it for Days 1 and 2. Will keep you posted!

WOYWW #301

Another Wednesday - they do come by fast! We are just starting to enjoy above freezing temps here in Southern Ontario, I actually saw a guy yesterday wearing a Tank Top! Our high today will be +5C, I'm sure someone will be in sandals!

WOYWW - if you don't know yet what this is, there is a paisley button on my sidebar you can click and find out!

Actually, even though I have worked at my desk this week, there is not a lot of change:

You can see my "Daily" journal that I actually only started March yesterday - so much for "Daily"! I'm already 11 days behind!

And to my right is my Donna Downey Journal that I using with her workshop - I'm a week behind on that one too!

There's a little yellow card that has "New Stamps" written on it for me to add to my database. I went to Michael's yesterday and bought a couple of "sale" stamp sets. Like I need more!

Here is a close up of the new March journal page, using some of my new stamps called "Crochet Lace" -I stamped them in a light Distress Ink and then I could draw over the lines  (idea from here) In the link, she was using a stencil, but I knew it would work with a stamp too. So I have a few days to catch up!

Thanks for visiting! I will now go and check out YOUR desks!!

WOYWW #300

Direct from the mastermind Ms. Dunnit herself:

"WOYWW - What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday
Desker - someone who joins in by posting a photo of their workspace on their blog and linking it here.
WOYWWer - someone who visits, comments and enjoys.
The number - the weekly count. This week is the 300th time we've come together to show and tell.

Believe me when I say the pleasure is all mine; friendships, opportunities, ideas and inspiration that I get from looking at your desks.....worth the cost of broadband. At least. And probably it's best to skate past the amount of shopping I've done as a direct result of the influence of many a Desker. Oh my."

TODAY is the 300th time Julia has invited people to look at her desk, and to peek at everyone else's too! Congratulations Julia!

And TODAY is probably the cleanest and neatest my desk has ever been on a Wednesday!

I have actually been putting things away!

Here is a card I made the other day for a young friend who has been injured:

House Mouse - the only "cute" you will probably ever see from me!

This is my cutting plate from my Big Shot - should I replace it? How long do these things last? The one I use for the top is fine, can I switch them and use this one for the top?

Thanks for looking! I will check on everyone's desk ending with the last number in my number, and hopefully even more!

WOYWW #299

Here it is, Wednesday again, time to take a peek at everyone's workspace! If you dion't know what WOYWW is, please go to the paisley print on the sidebar and click to find out!

One of my best friends came to visit last week, so I didn't get a lot done, we were having too much fun! But I did get a start on a new journal page in one of my art journals.

So, my desk has remained fairly neat and clean - I so happy with myself! A little trip to Michael's the other day got me a new Pitt Pen, some new Aleen's Tacky glue, and the blue washi tape you see in the bottom right of the photo. A word to the wise: Washi Tape this wide is horrible to try and remove from the roll! I'll never buy it again. It just keeps ripping in little pieces!

When I turn around in my chair, this is what I see:

When I re-organized and got everything off my table, I made sure it was easy to get to.

I now have a new place for all my pens - Ferrero Rocher boxes from Christmas!

And here is last week's Art Journal page from Donna Downey's Inspiration Wedenesday Workshop (actually from 2 weeks ago!):

That's it for this week! I'm off to check out the blogs that end with my number, and hopefully a few more! Thanks for peeking!

WOYWW # 298

Today is "What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday?" once again! we are closing in on 300 posts over at Julia's page, where this all started! If you want to find out what this all is, go HERE!

Well, after last weeks horribly messy workdesk, where I had about 6 square inches of space to actually work, I decided to do something. Here's a reminder of my desk last week:

So I got to work, and cleared EVERYTHING off my desk, and started over. I'm in the middle of the cleaning frenzy (as I do have other things to do!) but finally I have more than a tiny little space to work!

I am working on my Donna Downey Art Journal page from her workshop that I am taking, not quite finished yet, but at least I can open the whole book and still have room!

This is the view to my left, that matches the "before" photo above:

And to my right:

I now have both my Lazy Susans at my sides, before, they were awkward to get to. I even cleaned them out and re organised them! My big guillotine (under the clipboards) was supposed to stay uncluttered, I moved it away from right beside me where I have tendency to pile things up, but it has disappeared under clutter once again, but hopefully not for long!

Here are two cards I made, one for my brother's birthday, and one for Valentines day for hubby! The wolf is "Stampin' Up", an old set, and one of my favorite stamps that I use every year on hubby's card is the "amour", with "I love you" written across inside. I don't remember who makes it. I used one of my Pinterest pins for the idea for the Valentines card, but of course, it doesn't look at all like the pin!

Well, that's it for today! I will visit anyone with the last number the same as mine, and hopefully a few more if I have time! Have a Wonderful Wednesday!

WOYWW #297 What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday

(If you don't know what WOYWW is, please click on the paisley button on my sidebar! All will be revealed!)

Well, it's been awhile since I've visited my blog! My 10th blogiversary has been and gone (Feb 5th). I had all kinds of good intentions for that day, but nothing happened. Oh well. I've been in a bit of a slump recently, but I am now hopefully coming out of it.

Today I am making my mother a Birthday card - she is 80 on Thursday although you would never know it.

She is a wonderful, kind and generous person, who is also an artist, a writer, and a book editor! Here is the LINK to her website.

Anyway, here is a peek at my workspace, with the card in progress (I still have to finish it today!)

It is using a burlap heart I got at Michaels, that I sprayed pink with Dylusions Spray. Then I sewed it onto the background with red thread, (next time I will use a contrasting color), and glued a metal heart to the center. I stamped a flying bird holding a piece of paper, cut it out, and it's going above the heart. That's all so far!

You can see the mess of my desk, and the small space I have to work on. This distresses me! Here are 2 more views of my desk - to the right:

And to the left:

I feel like I can't breathe!! I did spend the last month and a half
RE-organizing all my stamps. I did this 2 years ago I think, thought I "had" it, and 2 years later realizing that no, I didn't. So I set out to fix my mistakes. It didn't take as long this time (only 1 1/2 months instead of 4!), and THIS time I think I "have" it!  I will write more on this in my next post, if you are interested in how I finally organized all my mounted stamps, AND my unmounted stamps, please bookmark me and check back in a few days! My next step will be to re-vamp the whole room!

Thank you for peeking at my very messy and disorganized space! I will now go and peek at yours!
