It's What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday, time for a peek at each other's desks and projects! We are now sharing through Sarah, at Sarah's Craft Shed.
It is a lovely fall morning, all the snow is gone!!
I wasn't in my art room this week, so not much to show, but here is my desk this morning, I am working on a paper doll.
Here she is, not quite finished, but I was trying a technique that Megan Quinlan was showing on YT to do the face. Trace the face area first with a pencil, then mix up the skin colour with watercolours and paint the face. You don't have to be neat (you can see I went out beyond the face), just get the colour on smoothly, and let it dry. Then put on the features and trace the pencil marks with black ink. This way, if you mess up the face, you haven't messed up the whole thing and you can start again with a new one. Great advice!
Grumpy cat is happier this week...
the snow is gone!! But the temperatures have gone way down (-6°C) and Inky is not happy.
Well that's it for me, hopefully I will have more for next week! Have a wonderful week!

It's turned cold here after being very mild (and wet) we even had a snow flurry for about 10minutes this morning, unusual for my part of the uk at this time of year. it didn't settle though I like what you did with Megan's technique. Happy WOYWW Helen #2
I'm NOT happy and neither is Poppy! Tooooo cold, and rain expected for our big outing to the Festival of Light at Longleat on Saturday. Ugh. The ONE DAY I leave the house for something fin and not a drs. appt or a blood test and the weather sucks. Love the advice from Megan - a trick to remember, although faces remain a challenge to me :D
Happy WOYWW!

Love your new doll. I must admit faces always put me off doing one. It’s going to be a cold night tonight, -6 in some areas. Hopefully I will be tucked up in bed! Hugs Angela #10
Wow a super face love it. We even had snow yesterday, it settled here for a while and I'm just up the road from Helen! Hugs Bj#12
Hi Linda, good job I popped back, nearly missed you. Love the paper doll. It's been snowing here but the sun is out now. Have a good belated woyww. Hugs Angela x9x
I love your paper doll. It’s true winter is hard on cats. So sorry to hear about your shoulder. I had a steroid jab in mine his week. Dihydrocodeine helps but it makes me dozy. My painting was the onions and garlic.
Have a good week
Hugs Lynnecrafts. 8 xx
The tree of life is a well known symbol in many cultures and religions. So I thought I would get rid of the roots to make it more like the Bible image of a tree planted in a garden as the image was for my Revelation journal. I had no joy with the Ai this evening, probably because I didn’t have a clear image of what I wanted.!
Loving your paper doll and a good idea to start with the face first Linda. Meow to the kitties - that sounds cold! Stay safe and happy belated WOYWW. Sarah
