WOYWW #856

It's What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday, time for a peek at each other's desks and projects! We are now sharing through Sarah, at Sarah's Craft Shed.

I didn't do anything notable this week, so all I have to share is my desk. I am in the midst of a little project which I will show next week.

If you remember, last week I was running out of space for my Posca Paint Pens and markers which shared the same holder. Also my black drawing pens were overflowing their little space. So this is the solution so far, and so far it seems to be working.

Now you might have noticed Grumpy Cat in each of these pics. I really like Grumpy Cat and thought I would start a daily (or semi-daily) Instagram post of what Grumpy Cat and I are doing, and where we are going (no big International trips here!). I thought it might be fun. We will see!

I do have a question. I often use (or try to use) Aileen's Tacky Glue, but I have a very hard time getting the glue out once I've used it, and always have. I tend to use up about 1/4 of the bottle then throw it out when I can't get any more glue out. I've tried clearing the nozzle with a long pick, needles, but nothing seems to work. Any suggestions? Or maybe a glue that does work everytime? I see people using the little bottles with the long noses a lot, should I transfer my glue into one of those? Would it work any better? TIA.

Here are Jasper and her Dad cutting their Halloween Jack-O-Lantern. Last year Jamie did most of the pumkpin while Jasper lost interest. I think she had a bit more interest this year!

I hope everyone has a fun Halloween! Last night at choir our section (the "Lows") put on a skit to the song "Everyone's Gone to the Moon"!

Hi Linda, I hate it when glue does that. I have had some success by keeping a stainless steel pin in the fine nozzles but sometimes that doesn't work either. I have one of the bottles that has that attached already to the top and it works well with the glue I use. The glue I use mostly is Nuvo by Tonic and they are good to the very bottom and Tombow that's good too. By the way I love your Grumpy cat and little Jasper too. Happy woyww, Angela x9x

I use Anita's Tacky Glue and use a long quilting pin to release it probably EVERY time I use it from the nozzle however I usually just unscrew open the top and flip that over quickly and dip in a plastic glue spreader from there. I tend to spread it on the back of my hand and dab the pieces on there if they are small, each to their own.
You'll be glad to know there is NO purple rectangle this week horrah. Hugs BJ#1

I love grumpy cat and Jasper’s activity making Halloween pumpkins. I have no luck with glue either.

I always store my glue once opened upside down. I use a kitchen skewer if it gets blocked, but it doesn’t usually.. I look forward to seeing Grumpy Cat’s adventures. Hugs Angela #10

I hate it when glue sticks in the bottle - I've got a bottle of Glossy Accents that is practically full and won't budge! I use pins too but again, not always successful. Good luck with your Grumpy Cat adventures. Happy WOYWW Helen #2

The glue thing...drives me nuts. I use silicone glue and the same thing happens, then the bottom two thirds go off and are solid. Tacky glue - might be worth storing upside down so the nozzle is always filled with soft glue. Isabel a bottle that's about a decade old and I unscrew the lid and dip a coffee stirrer in it. Unless it goes off I determined not to waste it! Love the idea of grumpy cat being on Instagram, I really must awaken my Insta account and watch out!

Hi Linda! I like your Grumpy Cat photo creative journey post idea. My grandson is just two, so he just painted his family's pumpkins, as you can see in a picture on my blog. We had a quiet Halloween eve at my house, as we didn't get that many kids trick or treating this year. Happy belated WOYWW!

I must admit to leaving my glues upside down and using a long stainless steel pin to clear the nozzle before doing so. I stick to Perga glue these days and haven't had any trouble with that so far. Hope you all had a fun Halloween. Sorry for the belated visit. Stay safe and Happy belated WOYWW. Sarah

Hi Linda.
Try storing your bottle upside down so gravity does the hard work.
I use a crafter's glue from Hobby Lobby that I love. I keep some in a 1/4 pint jar with press n seal then the screw lid. I use a small brush to apply.

Bob and I carved jack o lanterns this year. First time in years. How did Jasper do with pulling out the guts? My youngest granddaughter won't touch them... and she's 14! LOL Creative Blessings! ~ Kelly #13
