WOYWW #427

Another Wednesday, time to peek at each others desks and projects! If you want to know what WOYWW is, just go to http://www.stamping-ground.blogspot.ca/p/what-is-woyww.html  and all will be revealed!

Hi all! I missed last week's post because I was in Niagara Falls (Canada)! I attempted to do post from my i-Pad, but I gave up on that fairly quickly! Anyway, here is my desk this morning:

It's starting to get messy again!  Also, now I'm working bigger (no more index cards!) so it's taking up more space.

Here was my desk last week!

Except when it was raining - which was a LOT of the time!

I went to a place called Port Colborne to have lunch at the "Smokin' Buddah" (isn't that a great name?) with friends, and they have one of the FEW stamping/scrapbooking stores left in Ontario, so instead of giving the big internet online companies my money, I gave it to this little shop, and bought a few things to add to the few things I brought with me:

I did a journal page every day (I had a lot of time!), using just the items I brought with me, and the few I bought. I joined a FB group started by Marjie Kemper, to go through an art book a month for 3 months. This month it's Dina Wakley's Art Journal Freedom book.

My journal pages from Niagara Falls:

Lunch at Smokin' Buddah!

The figure is something I cut out of a magazine and painted black!

And this is what I brought with me:

It all fit in this very cool Dollar Store make-up bag! The stencils and another set of stamps are in the blue bag.

So that's it for me! I had a great time, in spite of the rain. . .

And I found a new friend in Patrick, much bigger, and not as soft as Inky, but cuddly just the same!

Have a great week!

I do believe that we can all learn to use less, more effectively. You're pages are wonderful..the air and spray at Niagra made you prolific! Like the new stamps..it would have been rude not buy something, surely!!

What a terrific way to use your free time while on vacation! It's easy to forget sometimes that less really can be more. Your pages do not look neglected or boring at all, so you really do know how to make the best out of fewer supplies. Your purple and blue 2-pager is a real treat for my eyes! Yummy
Happy WOYWW!

What a great post - I really enjoyed reading it! Your holiday location looked gorgeous and I'm so glad you had time to create some fab artwork! That little bag is perfect for the stamps and I'm glad you had chance to buy some more bits too...I always try to support small shops like that, it makes such a difference to them.

Patrick looks lovely. How I miss having a furry friend.
Great colours in your first journal page from Niagra - such rich jewel like colours. Lots of lovely pages as a result of your time away. Not to mention lovely purchases as well.
Sorry it rained but it did in Amsterdam for us on day 2 so it was pretty miserable for the middle day. Not much fun wandering a city in the rain.
Hugs and thanks for visiting me, Neet 3

These are great pages Linda - and so many of them - with just limited supplies too - I'm really impressed! I was just looking at that those distress oxides. I must get just a couple to see what all the hype is about! I doubt I would buy the whole collection but just a couple of coordinating colours would satisfy my curiosity. I've joined that FB group too but forgot all about it - I must visit them again! I'm a member of so many groups, it's hard to keep track LOL. Gorgeous shot of Inky! Thanks for visiting earlier! Have a lovely weekend! zsuzsa #23

So glad you've been having such a great time on your holiday, Lindart, and well done managing to be creative at the same time, especially with limited supplies. I love what you've produced! Also, so nice to find a kitty to befriend while you are away. Thank you for your great comment - yes, our kittens are quite adorable and such fun! I am delighted that you enjoyed my album so much, and of course I don't mind you pinning it - I'm flattered! Actually it was aboout my dad, but it says "Grandad" because I made it for my niece, who is his granddaughter. You are right about him being a wonderful man - he had a great sense of humour amongst all his other attributes. He died 3 1/2 years ago and I miss him dreadfully. He and I were very close, and it was great making the album because it brought all the memories of him to the fore. For my niece it's a lovely keepsake and she told me it contained a lot of things she didn't know about him.

My hospital appointment went very well. I am pleased that my surgeon is obviously going to keep a close eye on me and is clearly as keen as I am to avoid the situation I got into at the beginning of the year, with the hernia causing an obstruction resulting in emergency major sugery. He's booked me in for another CT scan at the beginning of next month, and I'll be seeing him again in about 3 months. We discussed surgical options for a more permanent repair but for now he's happy to leave well alone, but keeping a watching brief.

Happy belated WOYWW,

Hi! Thank you for visiting me last week on WOYWW.
I´m very late this time o this week I start visiting
you before I make my own post for this week.

I love your colourful blogpost! I thought a hundred
times I want to make an art journal too, but I still
haven´t... Your pages are wonderful. Vibrant colours!

You had a Niagara fall outside too on day I think. ;)
Great idea to sit outdoors on the terrace crafting.

Have a wonderful day!
