WOYWW #399

Another Wednesday, time to peek at each others desks and projects! If you want to know what WOYWW is, just go to http://www.stamping-ground.blogspot.ca/p/what-is-woyww.html  and all will be revealed!

I did manage to get a few other things done besides unmounting stamps this week! A friend of mine and I are going to do a 52 card set (lots of example online). I think it was meant at first to be a journal - one card for every week, but we're not doing it like that. My instructions from my friend was to paint the playing cards with black gesso, then choose 2 colors to smoosh together on both sides. So i chose to have one side one color and the other different colors. Here they are:

I liked the mess everything left!

I also made a birthday card for my brother:

It's been a very long time since I did any Stampscapes - I am in dire need of practice!! I actually watched several Stampscapes videos to get back on track.

And here is my desk this morning:

Getting a page ready to sew the pouches for these stamps. I have finished "Birds" and am now in "Birthdays". The stamps standing up are going downstairs to me microwaved so I can pull the rubber off. You can also see my cup of Peppermint tea, the marker and cutter I use, and the pencil to draw the lines to sew on. The Versifine Ink pad is what I've been using to stamp the images for the pouches, then I tuck the stamp behind. I've drawn the lines, the next step is to pop the page into the plastic page holder and sew on the lines, then cut the pouches open.

Well, that's it for me today. Here is Inky, waiting patiently as I write this blog post! Thanks for visiting!

What a great idea, playing with the playing cards! That's kind of like doing art on rolodex cards--so much fun. Happy Wednesday. Sandy Leigh #45

Hello to Inky from me first of all.
No problem about last week (me not being able to comment), just didn't want you to think I had not bothered.
You" need more practice with the Stampscapes"? Don't think so. I think the card is simply beautiful and I am in awe of your stamping first of all and your colouring secondly. I am sure he will be delighted to receive such a beautiful card - if I got something like that it would have to be framed afterwards. You are talented.
Hugs, Neet 2 xx

That card is absolutely gorgeous! I bet your your brother was (or will be) well chaffed with it. I've always liked working with altered cards - I like how they are similar, but still different from each other and they are also very tactile when you put the deck together. Inky's cute under foot - I keep my art books on the floor as well - next to my bed! Thanks for visiting yesterday. Happy belated WOYWW! zsuzsa #21

Good morning, Linda. I'm liking those color blends. Look forward to seeing more of their progress. I've never had the courage to try a stampscape so yours looking really good to me. :-) See you're still making progress on the unmounting. Such a task, I'm sure. But you'll be happy in more ways than one when the task is finished. Creative Blessings! Kelly #42

Your Stampscapes card is lovely! I've tried scenic stamping, without too much success! Probably because I don't have enough stamps :)

I love the idea of painting the playing cards, and the scrap paper at the end of it is brilliant - I've got a piece like that from a project years ago, thinking I'd make something with it - it could be the basis for an interesting project. Nice to see Inky fully involved with all the activity! Thank you for your comment - yes, kitties have a mind of their own. Ours have a habit that lasts for a few weeks, like a favourite sleeping place, and suddenly, for no apparent reason, they go right off it and start doing something else! And they will never do anything if it's not their idea - put them on the bed, they jump off. 5 mins later, they jump back on again. Go figure... So glad you like my embroidery. I am keen to get this ancient UFO (UnFinished Object) well and truly finished this year, after more years than I care to admit!!

Happy belated WOYWW,

Goodness - you are SO busy. That card is lovely - you may feel you lack practice - but the result you have is still great.
Take care. God bless.
