It's October!! Boy how time flies! Everyday I go for two 10 minute walks to get me out of the house and into the outdoors where I can see the seasons change like I never have had time to before! Here are some photos from my walk:

Yesterday was International Cardmaking Day, and while I didn't make a card yesterday, I made 2 today! Both are for birthdays, but I can only show one (wink wink!):

The cupcake is a little hard to see, but very pretty in "real life"!
I used the marker and waterbrush technique over white embossed cupcake. And then I used Distress Ink on the birthday word background, and misted it before stamping. Nice watercolor effect. Actually the first time I've actually liked this stamp! All stamps are Hero Arts.

How about a journal page:

July 25-27 2013
I found some very cool large black numbers at the Dollar store, and drew on them in white. Neat effect!

And a page from my ABC quote Book:

Coffee keeps me busy until it's acceptable to drink wine

And now, the coffee is done, I'm going to have some wine! Thanks for looking, I love you!

Wow! Here I am again - the very next day! Well, I gave myself the weekend off from business stuff, so I thought I'd do another post. Here is my June 2013 page. Yep, I didn't journal at all between October and June.

I went through a lot of stuff during that time, and then lost my confidence in my art journaling. But I think I'm back now. I love this page because I used a tag that I made at my friend Marg's house. I cut it so it would fit, and then used the top part for the left side of the page. I love this tag, and it was very fitting for this post!

We were playing with Dylusion sprays! They have such vivid colors.  The next photo is of my "B" page in my quotes book. The B is glittery, but I don't think you can see it in the photo.

Yes. Good to know!!

I would love some comments, just to see if anyone is looking! Thank you!

Back again! I'm trying to get to the point when I can blog almost daily, so please hang in there! Baby Steps!! Here is my Halloween journal page from 2012, not much writing, but I really liked it and thought writing more on it would just ruin it!

I'm also currently working on a book that I made from one large piece of watercolor paper. I think the instructions were in a Cloth paper Scissors magazine that my friend Marg lent to me. She made one first, and I loved it, and I made one too. We are both making an ABC Quotes book. Here is my cover:

 The book is about 5 1/2" x 10"

Here is the "A" page:

Always be a Little Kinder than Necessary

Hope everyone has a wonderful fall weekend! it is bright, sunny and cool here in Southern Ontario. Lovely!

I see that I have lost a few people - no comments! Well I hope to build up my audience once again. If you are looking but not commenting, then thank you! I'm grateful to have you too!

I am now surrounded by wonderful green plants, both inside and out. I've never had plants in my house before - but these all came from my classroom and needed a home!

We planted this mango from a seed!

I'm going to slowly catch you up on my journal. . .This page is from October last year, when the hurricane hit the Eastern Seabord

Until next time! LMK if you are still with me! I am very grateful for comments!

I can't BELIEVE I haven't posted since October 2012. here it is September 2013! ALMOST ONE YEAR! It's been quite  year, however. In June we closed our Montessori School to rent the building to another Montessori School. I was ready to retire from teaching and wouldn't unless we had another Montessori School in its place. Done! Now I'm working on a site called Linda's Montessori Shop to sell all my books, materials, and handmade items. One of the reasons I retired was to work on more ART!!! Hasn't quite happened yet, but I have done a few things since last October to share with you (if you are still with me!).

Valentines 2013 I made some tags for my staff: (oh yes, and I learned how to add a watermark!)

And an Anniversary card for my parents in March:

I started some Calendar Journal Pages:

but didn't get too far. . . I think the secret might be to have the whole year finished before Jan 1, so I'm planning on making the whole year of  2014 before Jan 1, 2014 (Good luck on that project!)

My daughter needed a card in late August:

and my BFF needed one today for her birthday (before the words were added):

I put "Happy Birthday" right where the watermark is!

So, you are all updated except for Journal pages, which will come soon!!

I sincerely hope I haven't lost all of you, and that I can keep this blog going no matter what!

Many thanks to those who are still with me - love and kisses!

Back again. . .

I'm SO SORRY I have been neglecting my blog - well neglecting practically everything to be honest. Rarely get to my art nest (but hopefully that will change). Just kind of lost my art mojo, just not myself lately. Even made a journal page that looks like someone else entirely made it. Not going to post it! I think I will re-do it. My eyes are acting up, always tired, burning. My optometrist is sending me to the ophthalmologist at the hospital to get something drained from my left eye- can't come soon enough for me, but haven't heard from them yet. Both eyes feel funny.

But anyway, I did scan all my journal pages from the summer to now, so here they are:

I don't think the Paris ATC is mine -probably got it from a swap
 -but it's so pretty I couldn't resist!

Thanks for being SO patient with me!

WOYWW

Whats On Your Workspace Wednesday (or Thursday in this case!)  Click on the link on the sidebar to find out all about WOYWW and see everyone else's workspace!

Well, this is what I was actually doing on Wednesday - my DD is visiting from Toronto, so spending as much time with her as possible!

Enjoying our local beach and the sun! This is Lake Ontario...the water was lovely (for my feet anyway!) This is a 5 minute walk from my house - one of 3 beaches!

So this morning I took these photos of my Workspace:
 My next journal page

The card I made with my new background stamp

Not a lot, but at least I am getting into my stamping room!

Thanks for looking! Next week I start back to work setting up my classroom for 2012-13. Hopefully I will find some time to relax in my stamping room!

WOYWW

Hello all! My desk is not a lot different from last week, as I really haven't had much of a chance to do anything, so here's a different view of it:

My journal is still there, and I did do some doodling on it while watching TV

I bought 2 new stamps (on sale of course!) at Michael's this week. Now for something to make with them! I really like the butterfly!

Hopefully more to show you next week! TTFN!

WOYWW

OK, so today is Thursday. What can I say - I forgot! Soon this will be habit, but now I'm just getting used to the Wednesday thing! Cleaned up a bit because my friend Marg came over to play! Yay!

Working in my journal - I haven't worked in this one for awhile - and playing with Dylusions -who isn't these days? But this is my table after Marg and I tidied up (imagine that!!) I'll need to go back and finish these 2 pages.

Have a great rest of the week! I'll check on everyone else tomorrow, it's beddy-bye time for me! Don't forget to go HERE and see what this is all about!!

Cards

Well, my friend Marg and I played with Dylusions all afternoon! I love being at her house because she has so many stamps I don't have (how is that possible!! This is how I know I still don't have have everything!) We played with the "Ghosting technique" - very cool! Spray your Dylusions onto your paper and blot. Then choose a stencil to lay on top, spray with water, remove stencil and let sit 15 sec or so, then blot. You can't really see the results on either of my cards, because it's a bit covered up.

This was my first card - I liked the little houses stencil Marg had, but then I screwed it all up with my muddy colors...

so I traced the shape of the houses through the stencil...still didn't like it, but then it said "Halloween" to me!
Marg had a cute little witch on a broom with her cat watching the moon stamp, so I used that, painted the image and cut it out, and popped it up. When I got home I added the ghosts. So now I think it is passable! I love taking something I hate and making it something I like!

Here is my second card - I used some of Marg's Stamper's Anonymous stencils (I love these)

I liked this card right away - more my style! But you still can't see the ghosting! I'll have to try that technique again. All the stamps and stencils here are Marg's!
