WOYWW #581

Another Wednesday, time to peek at each others desks and projects! If you want to know what WOYWW is, just go to http://www.stamping-ground.blogspot.ca/p/what-is-woyww.html  and all will be revealed!

I hope everyone out there is well! I completely missed last weeks post, it flew by without me noticing. It was the weirdest thing! But, in my defense, hubby had contracted an infection, unrelated to his knee surgery, which totally upended everything he had done the previous week relating to his knees. He's been in bed now for the past 12 days, and that first 7 days or so was a nightmare for both of us. He is slowly re-cooperating, I can now leave him for a few hours at a time to do other things. He now has to re-gain what he lost in relation to his progress with walking.

Anyway, needless to say, while he was in that state nothing got done craft-wise, so you didn't miss anything.
Here is my desk this morning:

A new flower shop just opened up nearby, so I am making gift cards for it! Never made cards for sale before, it was hard trying to figure out how much to charge. They are 3x3" cards with envelopes, and I will charge her $22 cad (about 13 GBP) or $25 cad (about 14.5 GBP) for 16.  Those of your who sell cards, does this sound reasonable?
Anyway, here they are, 8 different designs:

The embossed middle is slightly raised.
Essentially they are made to tuck into a floral arrangement. The store owner loved them, so that's good!
I am also experimenting with tea bags, so here are some cards I made using them, tea bags that have been unfolded.

I think this is a Dina Wakely stamp above, and the one below is Stampin' Up

That's it for me, I will get around to as many of you as I can over the next few days!
I found this online somewhere, and I loved it!
So on that note, Inky and Mittsy say "meow" and I say have a great week!

Oh I am really sorry to hear about your husband's set back, how frustrating for him and you. I really hope he's on the mend now, it must have been a worrying time for you both. I think those cards are fantastic for the florist, I would get one to go with a bouquet for sure, I especially love the embossed white ones, so elegant! I'm not a card maker though so have no idea about price...sorry!

Oh those cat words - straight to my heart. I miss my cats. And it is so like your Inky. Those are nice cards that you have made for the florist, I can just see those peeking out of bouquets but sadly have not a clue how much to charge for them, I have never gone down the route of selling cards.
I used to do cake making and icing (like Wedding, birthday etc) and can only say that I set off with one price in my head but by the time I got there with the said cake it had dropped to about half price. So you can see, I am no salesperson, sorry.

Hi Linda. Sorry to hear hubby has had such a setback. Hope he is well into recovery now, though! I sell some of my cards - a 4x6 inch card, at the hotel, sells for £1 It doesn't seem much when I think of the work involved, but I know who the guests are in that place - mostly pensioners - so know that they can't afford much more. Even an 8x8 inch card costs them less than £2. I don't do anything really fancy, and endeavour to keep them "thin" so postage is just the normal rate. Don't know if that helps.
Take care. God bless.

Hi, Linda!

Hope things are continuing on the homefront. So tough with a sick husband. Mine doesn't like to accept help, even though he desperately may need it. He recently feel through a step outside. Damaged his leg, from ankle up past the knee. It has been so frustrating for him. Hope yours is better at this.

You "I am your cat" poem brought tears to my eyes.

Love your cards for the florist. It is hard to put a price on them, isn't it?

Stay well and Happy Wednesday!

Sorry to hear your hubby was so poorly and hope is recovers quickly. Not made cards for sale so no idea of pricing - I agree it's hard to know how much to charge - don't want to over charge or you won't sell but too little and it isn't worth your while....good luck!! Helen #2

It sounds like you are having a bit of a time of it. I'm so sorry to hear of your hubby's setback and hope he recuperates well now and is soon feeling more himself.
Your gift cards are lovely. It's so hard to price things. I sell my cards for about £2 locally. They sell well at that so that works for me.
Take care and have a good week

So sorry to hear about your hubby, Linda, and I do hope he makes a quick and full recovery. I am not surprised you haven't had so much time for crafting with everything that's been going on. However, your cards are all absolutely gorgeous, gorgeous!! I recognise some of the embossing folders, and I love the white texture - a perfect background for the flower topper. Your teabags are fabulous, too! I love the cat picture too - so like Inky! Sweet words.

Thank you for your visit and I am glad you liked my red outfit and the first tiny carpet. I've now made good progress on tiny carpet #2 and hope to have it finished to show next week. Your breakfast concoction sounds delicious! The whole-food plant-based lifestyle certainly does pay off with loads of health benefits. We are thrilled with my hubby's cholesterol results.

I am glad your two kitties behave themselves out of doors. We are mostly fine now with ours but my hubby had to do a great deal of work to make it kitty-proof at the back, and we have occasional mishaps which is why we only ever let them out when my hubby is home. They aren't allowed out the front at all because it's almost straight onto the road. They do have their little routines, don't they, as well as their favourite places which seem to change suddenly, for no apparent reason! I am glad Mittsy enjoyed looking at my blog too lol!! I'm surprised she let you near your computer... I've got Lily on my legs on the recliner at the moment but they are starting to get a bit agitated for their tea.

Happy belated WOYWW,
