Greetings all! Today is Canada Day here, happy Canada Day to all my fellow Canadian WOYWWers!
of course all the normal plans are gone, no parade, no events, no art shows (except online), everything this year is virtual. And hubby is still in hospital, so a lonely one too. But he will be home on Friday! YAY!
But I digress, here is my desk today!
Not too messy, and an actual space to work! My project this week has been Tea Bag art, since I've been making a lot of iced tea lately. I never realized how different tea bags were! I started out with the ones that open up to a large flat piece of very thin paper:
this woman is from Meer Image, and the grapevine wreath is
from Stampington
this bird is from Club Scrap
this dragonfly is from Stamp Oasis
I will probably add some bling to it, I usually do with this stamp!
I haven't tried the smaller tea bags yet, that will be next week.
Garden:
My garden is finally looking good! I don't have much, just this little perennial bed:
my newest flower
my roses!
It's funny, I really can't see my garden from the porch unless I walk around right in front of it, but I can see a beautiful garden across the street, which makes me happy! I am not a great gardener. If I had the money I would hire someone to make me swaths of garden that I could see and enjoy from the porch! It's all up here in my head...
Here are Mittsy and Inky to say hello today!
Mittsy on the bed,
and Inky in the favourite bed (for both of them) right in the bedroom window. Sometimes I will find one in the bed and one stretched out beside it - we have a long cat-dedicated shelf under the window. You can see the curtain to the right of Inky, so they have this lovely "hidden" space! And my pile of Books-to-read at the end of the shelf.
Well, that's it for me! Inky and Mittsy say "meow" and I say have a great week!

Happy Canada Day! Hope you're enjoying the celebrations even if they'll be different this year. The teabag art makes me smile, great results from such a mundane start!

Hi Linda. Goodness - stamping and painting on teabags - they are quite small... I don't think I would have the patience.I love the giant pile of books to be read - I have one similar!! I wish your hubby well - glad he will soon be home, and you will be able to celebrate together.
Take care. Stay safe. God bless.

Happy Canada DAY. Our July 4th will be soon and Yes most all the towns have cancelled everything...Fireworks most places for evening viewing. Oh the tea are is fun. I too was surprised at the differences in the little bags. I've a good collection, but haven't had time to work with them. Love your flower photos. I seem to tend to love the vivid colors these past few weeks. Keeps my spirits alive. TOO Hot and Humid here to be outdoors. We've missed all the storms but we do need a nice rain. Enjoy a great week, and happy to hear your husband can return home.
Happy Canada day. Bet you are looking forward to hubby coming home. Nice pics of the kittles too. Wishing you a very happy and creative woyww, Angela x20x
Happy Canada Day!
I am enjoying your tea bag makes...
I too have a long list of books to read - and in particular I need to finish the current one for book club next week - on Zoom.
Happy woyww!

Happy Canada Day for yesterday. Love to the kitties they always know the best spot to lie down and have a rest. Tea bag art is always fascinating to me, so many wonderful ideas. Stay safe as you keep creating.

I love the colour of that rose! It's a beauty, as is your dragonfly tea bag art particularly. I can imagine putting some bling on that. Do you store them for yourself in a book / journal or do you mount all of them? Have a lovely week, Lisa-Jane #15
Hi Linda, Happy belated Canada day...
Isn't teabag paper a lovely surface to work with. I love the variation of colour that the tea stain leaves, beautiful artwork. Looks like your desk has saved a space for you to carry on crafting.
I bet you have missed Hubby, you'll be rushed off your feet when he returns so make the most of that crafty time and cuddles with the kitties, they look very contented. Happy WoywW hugs Tracey #8
Happy belated WOYWW! I am like you, I love a beautiful garden, but just can’t create one myself. I try, I try and my mom says I try too hard, but when I get plants (especially flowers) to grow, I love it and am so proud. I’m glad to hear hubby is coming home soon. Dorlene #33
Happy belated Canada day Linda, hope hubby is safely ensconced back home now. I have never tried working with teabags (I am not a tea drinker) but your artwork makes me want to try sometime. Meow to Inky and Mittsy, stay safe and happy belated WOYWW. Sarah #2
Sorry I missed saying Happy Canada Day to you. It must have been strange not being able to celebrate as normal but I guess the tv gave good alternative coverage.
Sorry about hubby, hope he is safely home now. And well!
Love the teabag art - so different from what I did but I have to say I love what you have done (I should have a link to mine in my side bar if you want to see). I just adore that dragonfly, the colouring works so well with the teabag.
Great garden and flowers, nice to have them there to welcome hubby back.
Have a good week now he is home and ...Chin tickles to Mittsy and Inky and Hugs to you two - Neet 5 xx
Sorry your hubby was in hospital for Canada Day, Linda, and I do hope he is now home and recovering. It must have been strange with everything in lockdown and the usual celebrations so quiet. Your teabag art is lovely! I have literally thousands of teabags and have started emptying them of tea now, so they take up a bit less room (I had 4 large boxes full of them!!) and I need to think about what to do with them. Lovely flowers in your garden. Lovely to see Inky and Mittsy again this week. I had visions of Inky doing a spot of reading while lying in bed, with a nice selection of books to choose from! Lily and Ruby send them meows from across the ocean.
Happy belated WOYWW,
Shoshi x #7
