Another Wednesday, time to peek at each others desks and projects! If you want to know what WOYWW is, just go to http://www.stamping-ground.blogspot.ca/p/what-is-woyww.html and all will be revealed!
Hello everyone! I hope all of you are well. We are all dealing with the ramifications of Covid-19, and it is such a blessing that we can still be in touch. I think about what life would be like if we didn't have computers to keep everyone in touch in times of crisis like this, to keep on top of the news, to make sure at least part of our lives continue as normal. With that said, I am self-isolating, as I'm sure many if not all of you are as well. We have been very lucky to only have (as of yesterday) only 3 cases in my city. I am so happy that I have a craft room chock full of things to do!
Here is my desk this morning, not much is happening, but I have plans...
I made some previous stencil play into cards:
And that's about it.
I thought I would show how I am storing my unmounted stamps today. I unmount them, usually just by heating the stamp with my heat gun, and they pull right off the wood. Then I put a couple of drops of this stuff on the back and let dry.
I prepare the top card which shows the stamp and maker, cut a piece of the photo protector page that comes with photo albums for the base that the stamp sticks onto.
They go into an album like this
into pages
that I have pre-prepared by sewing pockets to fit the stamps.
They are all stored here:
very easy to get to and find the stamp I need!
That's it for today. Hopefully I will get the rest of my stamps unmounted during my time at home.
Mittsy says "stay safe, self-isolate and social distance!"
Inky and I say "have a great week!"

Yes, it would be very different without all the technology we have access to now.
I am grateful to have computers, e-readers, phones and cable. But I am most grateful for my craft room and my books.
I love the organization of your stamps. I love organizing my supplies. I am currently working on a spreadsheet that has all of my stamps in them so I can search by category or type. It's an on-going process since I have a lot of stamps but I plug away at it from time to time.
Stay well.

Hi Linda, yes, I'm staying indoors, as I'm in the high risk category.Mind you, with all the idiots panic buying, not much left in the shops to go out for! I unmounted all my older wood blocks too, and I use the Currency/atc/postcard storage sheets for them. Stay safe, have a good week, Hugs, Shaz #6 X
We are social distancing as well because G has high risk health issues and, like you, I'm very thankful for my craftroom and internet access. Hope you are ok, those stamps are going to be so well sorted!
Hugs LLJ 8 xx
I'm not self isolating yet but it won't be long. your stamps are so well organised! Great cards. Stay safe.. Helen #3
I am another, SID, social isolator/distancer. Best way if you come into the category for staying safe.
Love the way you have stitched those pockets for your staps, if I get the chance I will do something like that with my word stamps.
Mittsy looks very settled there, she seems quite happy - hope Inky is ok too.
Hugs, Neet 1 xx
Nice projects on the go today. I'm not sure that we will ever know how many people have got or had the virus in the UK now they have told people to self isolate as they will not be tested so they may or may not have it. Pleased to see your kitties doing well and wishing you a very happy and creative woyww, Angela x12x
Thank goodness for the internet and computers indeed Linda. we are lucky to have so much to keep us occupied. Great stamp storage idea, much better than on wooden blocks. Meow to Inky and Mittsy. Happy WOYWW. Stay safe. Sarah #2
Nice projects on your desk and thanks for sharing how you are storing your stamps. Wow you have a lot of stamps and I can see why it would be important to store them in a binder otherwise they would take up your craft room. We are truly blessed to have such ready access to the web and information. Stay safe and keep crafting.

Wow Linda, cant decide what I’m most impressed if not a little jealous of - your tenacity in keeping up the brilliant filing system or the number of stamps you must own! How fab, would love a rummage! WWE aren’t on total lockdown here, and I’m not in any way vulnerable, so just the social distancing for me...have elderly lovelies to see to and so its great that i can still get out to do shopping etc without restrictions. Have to say that I’ve enjoyed having a couple of locations all to myself this week!! Keep well, gal. Never before has crafting proved itself as good for your sanity!
Hi Linda. My goodness - what a time you are going to have! Lots of stamps to unstick, and lots of plans! I am simply trying to be sensible at present, but haven't managed to do anything yet on my "to-do-while-restrictions-last" list!! Couldn't get myself into gear. I have actually finished a jigsaw which has been on the board for a week, and a blanket which I have been doing for a fortnight... but after my card-a-thon I have run out of steam!
Take care. Stay safe. God bless.

Hi Linda, that's quite a collection of stamps you have there, thanks for sharing how you store them. I still have not totally finalised my stamp storage, down to a solution I am happy with, but I guess I will have time in the coming weeks if I'm going to be stuck at home a lot. Stay safe, and have a lovely week Heather xx #13
What fabulous storage. Loving the picture of inky! Take care my friend. Happy belated WOYWW. With love & God Bless, Caro x (#14)
Thank you for sharing your stamp storage, Linda - really nice to see it with pictures - your albums are lovely. I think I'm trying to put too many into one album. I haven't seen that glue before. I wonder if there's a UK alternative, or whether perhaps my low-tack stuff for stencils would do? Anyway, your system all looks great. That's a nice busy desk and I like your stencil projects too.
I'm not really self-isolating. I don't get out and about much anyway, unless my hubby takes me, so being at home all the time is no real hardship for me. Even when I was well and able-bodied, I always loved to be at home, being a real home bird! As for social distancing, our kitties could learn a thing or two from Inky and Mittsy I think. You know how they love to cuddle up close to each other lol!! Mittsy looks very superior and aloof in that photo! All my hubby's regular activities out of the house have been cancelled, and it's nice having him around a bit more. This is going to be good for his weight loss programme too, because even though his Slimming World group has been suspended for now, and he's only got me to be accountable to (which has never worked in the past lol!!) at least with him being here for all his meals, he's only getting what I give him!
Thank you for your visit and your comment really made me smile! You are right - generally, men are hopeless without us! I think the problem is that they never grow up. They have their mum to do it at first, and then their wives take over. I know men in the ostomy community who even depend on their wives to change their bags for them!!! I was told at the hospital that they wouldn't send me home till I was managing independently. Perhaps they don't say that to the men? We also know men with diabetes whose wives do all the record keeping and calculating their insulin doses. It's probably a good thing that women tend to live longer than men, because without us, they just don't cope!! My hubby has never taken the slightest interest in looking after himself and when we were engaged, and went to see the GP together so I could register with him, he read the riot act at my hubby, taking advantage of my presence, I think, and told him he'd have his first heart attack in the next 5 years unless he changed his ways, and it would probably be his last. From that moment on, I tried to take him in hand. The fact that after 33 years he is still overweight shows that I haven't been all that successful in my efforts! But at least he's still with us... I've learnt a lot since those days and now know the best way to deal with the problem and the silver lining of this crisis is that he's been forced to eat all his food under my supervision lol lol!!! I don't think he would call me a saint, though. And I am very glad I am not a man!!!!!
As for the knitting, designing your own is really easy. All you need to do is make a tension swatch and count the number of rows and stitches to the inch, and plot it out on graph paper. You can even get rectangular graph paper now, instead of squares, and there are computer programs to help too. I prefer to work from graphs because you can actually see what you are doing, and you can make things whatever size and shape you want. There's no magic to it really.
Happy belated WOYWW to you and Inky and Mittsy,

It's a great thing is technology where we can keep connected to our friends and family far away, we all need to keep connected even when forced apart.
Your filing system is fantastic, I really must do something like this especially with my words and sentiments. Super cards, I am in need of making a few myself, feel like I need to treat myself to a day in the craft room after this past week. Stay safe & keep on crafting, happy WoywW Tracey xx
Wow, Linda, that’s a huge number of unjointed, how can you keep track, mind you I’ve more than I use by a very long way.
Lovely cards too...
Lovely desky share sorry I’m so late and brief.
Thanks for being a blessing, and may God bless you too, especially in these troubled times, may we look up in faith! Praying you’re all kept well too!
Hugs, Shaz in Oz.x 😊
