We had our own windstorm here on Wednesday night and Thursday. Winds hit 83 km/hr (the Katrina winds hit 285km/hr). 83km/hr was enough to break large branches from trees, uproot some trees, and knock down power lines. Two cars were hit while people were driving, but no injuries. We kept our power and all our trees, minus some branches.
My newest idea - a month in pictures. I will take a photo each day of October and fill the squares. I will need to finish this page on another page because there aren't enough squares! But I didn't want them to be too small. So I just have Oct 1st so far, a beautiful day, so I took a picture of the lake, and a tall ship in the distance. There is a pic of my Mom beneath this one because I had lunch with her that day!
This page was hard to write on because it was done with Lumiere paint. I ended up using a silver sharpie, that was all that would work. Evian is my favourite water! I am tending to use up all extra paint from other projects in my journal. I just find some blank pages and slop on the paint 'till it's gone!

This page has two photocopied newspaper articles in it, one is about the heat wave we've been having, and the record heat of 35 degrees celcius that was reached (I don't know what that is in F). Let's say really really hot! (For us anyway). I didn't really notice, since I was inside with AC all day, but the next morning it was 13 degrees C, a big drop!

This is the view from my front window, looking out to my porch and beyond to the road. I have a split rail fence that you can see a bit of. This was a big undertaking for me, and I'm happy with it! Played with a lot of dark colors for black-but still haven't achieved a nice black black. In the small spot where I needed it I used my marker. I used Danny's advice, and started drawing what was closest to me, the chair, then went out from there. It worked well! I think if I had done this before reading Danny's advice I would have started in the background. Don't know how to get the window to look like a window. Didn't wan't to do the 3 white lines thing. And it is very clean!

EDM #26-draw a vegetable
I drew a zucchini that I bought at the market today. Not totally happy with it, but I guess it does look like a zucchini!

EDM #18 challenge-draw what you see out your window...this was a bus ride where the view kept changing, I just put in what I saw when I looked up each time-these were never all together in the same place! It was a very bumpy ride, a bit tricky when drawing and painting! I used the brushes with the reservoirs so I didn't need any water. But I did need paper towels which I forgot!
