WOYWW #435

Another Wednesday, time to peek at each others desks and projects! If you want to know what WOYWW is, just go to http://www.stamping-ground.blogspot.ca/p/what-is-woyww.html  and all will be revealed!

We have been having the loveliest Fall weather so far, except for today, the first overcast day in about a week. Hope you all are enjoying your Fall (or Spring?) weather as well!

Here was my desk first thing this morning:

I have chosen to work with Joanne Sharpe's book "The Art of Whimsical Lettering" this month. I have such a huge stash of art books, and I've never really done more than glance at the pages. I am hoping to choose one book a month to play with!

This is what I've done so far:

More writing/drawing than I am used to! But I am enjoying it.

As far as my job goes, I did not quit, but they did allow me to reduce my hours to no more than 4, which at least makes it bearable until I can find something else! Here is my journal take on my job:

Now, there's lots of plants and things coming up, if you want to stop here, that's fine!

Here is my Fall garden:
still blooming!

Morning Glories did not do well this summer - too much rain?

The lettuce has been replaced with these! So pretty! I think I can plat this in my perennial garden. . .

Looking a little sad - I weeded it. Needs more fall flowers!

The last of the Cherry Tomatoes!

Indoor plants are back indoors and pruned - they were wild!

does anyone know what this is? The florist said it was a Lime Tree - those red berries do not look like limes to me!

And finally, Inky has now been successfully "treat-trained" to a new kitty bed on my night table next to our bed. She now sleeps there every night for a few hours. It took about 4 weeks to train her!

It is Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada, we are going to have a "fake Thanksgiving" this year (as my DD calls it) later in the month because she and her boyfriend are off having adventures in California at the moment! They are off to a wedding in Los Angeles, driving from San Francisco along the coast, camping and surfing along the way. Oh to be young again!

Thanks for looking, hopefully I will get to more desks this week!

I love autumn - it's my favourite season. The changing colours, the misty mornings, the warm and comforting cooking - I love the feeling of putting the year to bed, so to speak. The sentiment really spoke to me - after our big life change this year, it's been proven that we did do the right thing and are seizing every day!

Hi Linda. Your lettering is lovely - I like the little leaves growing from your name! The gardens are all beginning to look a bit deserted now, aren't they. as plants die back but the spring bulbs aren't yet popping through the soil. I tend to agree - red berries don't suggest limes!!! The leaves look more like laurel - but I don't think that has red berries either!
Take care. God bless.

Hi Linda, that book looks really useful; I love your lettering. I may have to look out for it as I rarely hand journal. Inky looks comfy in her new bed, glad she's got used to it. I'm pleased that your employers managed to work with you to make the job more manageable. Happy WOYWW Sarah #20

Great pages! glad you managed to resolve - or kind of - the job for now at least. Hope you find something else soon. Thanks for the visit. Helen #1

I know that book by Joanne Share. I was in a year long class she had in 2014 and bought her book and made a journal and never went beyond a few pages but it was very good book. Inky is such a handsome cat. Treat training is very unsuccessful in my house as they invent their own rules. Like that you used your journal to express the shambles at your job.

Great post, looks like you've been busy. The weather here has been nice considering it's autumn but today was quite cold so maybe the winter is on it's way. Thanks for the visit to mine, enjoy your 'Thanks Giving' and happy woyww, Angela x11x

Love Inky's new perch.
Love the plants and things in your garden and likewise the lettering. Good idea - think I might copy it if you don't mind as I need to try out lettering to improve on what I do now.
Glad you got somewhere with the company you worked for - good for you.
Finally - the bags in my photo - Ranger and the design is by Wendy Vecchi - each designer does their own version.
Hugs, Neet xx

Hi Lindart, Love the lettering and your journal page.

Nice your garden still has colour. Hope your tomatoes ripen.

Those fruit look more like Cherries.

Your lettering is beautiful and I love the quote about doing what you have to do. That is a great idea to dip in to a book a month - I too have loads of books I've barely skimmed through, I might start doing the same, although it may take me a while to get started!!
Hope you have a great week and thanks so much for stopping by my desk this week,

The lettering is stunning and such a good idea to go through a book per month. We must all have a heap of books to go through.

Lovely colours inside and outside your craft room, Linda! Going part time with your job is a good idea - that's what I want to do at one point too. Even if it's awful, I could bear it for 4 hours a day. Love Inky's new bed - I set up a blanket for Oreo too next to my bed and I often find him sleeping there - it's such a calming affect seeing him snoozing, knowing that he's safe. Your daughter looks lovely - all the best to her on her adventures! Thanks so much for visiting earlier. Enjoy your weekend! zsuzsa #17

love your layouts! Especially the one about your job. My oldest brother in law told me once that you can get through anything when you know there is an end... just keep looking for the light at the end of the tunnel.

Like you, I have many art books. One of my creative goals for 2018 is to get back into them... playing my way through. Maybe we should see if we both have the same book and walk through together :-) Creative Blessings! Kelly #24
