WOYWW #436

Another Wednesday, time to peek at each others desks and projects! If you want to know what WOYWW is, just go to http://www.stamping-ground.blogspot.ca/p/what-is-woyww.html  and all will be revealed!

Hello all! Today is a cold October rainy day in Ontario, the leaves are turning, but the temperatures are going up and down like a yo-yo! Yesterday was sunny and very warm, up to 20C! We BBQ'd last night (my hubby is very picky about his BBQ weather, has to be perfect, no BBQing in the snow for him!) Last weekend was Thanksgiving in Canada, but since our daughter was in California, we are postponing it for 2 weeks when we can all be together.

Here is my desk this morning:

It was such a busy week, I didn't get much done with my book (The Art of Whimsical Lettering By Joanna Sharpe) except playing with my own handwriting. One of our deskers wondered if she could join the fun of working through a book (I think she has this one) I think that would be awesome! If anyone else wants to join, please feel free! Essentially I'm choosing one book a month, and choosing the pages I want to work with, nothing organized, so if you would like to join, it would be great to see what your interpretations are too! If you don't have the book, try your local library.

I have started a new journal, I have the itch to go back to drawing and keeping kind of a daily/weekly journal, not too specific, but I do want to get back into sketching. So I bought 2 Craftsy courses and have been working through those as well.

Last weekend my hubby and I went on a day trip to see the leaves, do some shopping and enjoy a great meal. Here is what I did in my new journal:

So that's it for this week, short and sweet,
Here is a pic of Inky, in her fav spot in our bedroom window, made artsy by my new fav app called artisto! How cool is that!

Have a wonderful week everyone!

I have not really "journaled" in a long long time, but I love the writing along the edge of the leaf Linda :) ~Stacy #25

Hi Linda! I love the idea of daily/weekly journalling but I just know I couldn't commit to it. A bloggy friend of mine in New Zealand, Lynette, does this really well and I always find her journalling very inspirational. She does a weekly double spread of chronicling her life with all the little things that have happened in the week with photos, art work, collage, etch. I'll give you a link in case you want to check it out for inspiration - this is her latest entry: http://lynettecollis.blogspot.co.uk/2017/10/daily-journaling-weeks-39-and-40.html Love your sketches and let me tell you, you're probably the only one who doesn't like your handwriting (I hate mine too but I like everyone else's LOL) What I mean to say is - have you ever thought of someone else's handwriting in hateful terms? Of course not - it's just our own we hate - goodness knows why! Love the artsy picture of Inky - you could put it on the wall! Hope you have a good week! zsuzsa #11

Hi Linda, love all your October pages! And your kitty is a darling! Keep on the lettering practice, looks great so far! I sorta do handwriting practice too, but not from a book, just with my fountain pens and a meditative written page. Doing this daily, just 10-15 a day really helps with the movement and developing skills :) Happy rest of the week! xo Cheetarah WOYWW #13

Hi Linda! I think your journal looks wonderful. The autumn leaves look great, as does your handwriting! I've never thought about practicing handwriting. The temperatures were apparently 'freaky' whilst I was in Canada the week before last. 34 degrees was just not normal. My sister reports it has cooled down and the leaves are falling. Have a lovely week, Heather #32

Hi Linda. A day out in the autumn colours - how absolutely glorious, and brings back wonderful memories from when John and I were in Canada for October. Huge sigh of happiness!!! Enjoy all your practising - the idea of joining up is a good one - people will feel they want to contribute regularly, and so will grow as they play! Sorry I won't be able to join in... life is simply too hectic at the moment.
Take care. God bless.

What gorgeous autumn colours, Linda, and what a great idea to start a new journal and start it with pictures of them! I love the picture of Inky - I wonder if she knows how artistic she looks?! Thank you for your lovely comment and sorry to be so long replying - I'm so busy and so far behind because I'm under the weather with my ME at the moment and it's really slowing things down. I did manage some studio time yesterday, though! Thanks for all your good wishes re my health. We'll just have to wait and see what happens. The clicker training I am doing with the kitten is treat-oriented too. Perhaps I should try using it to get them to sleep in the cat bed!

Hope you're having a good week.
Happy belated WOYWW,

Funky Inky. Guess this photo should be "Finky".
Fall, or Autumn as we call it, is my favourite season. I love the goldens, reds etc. Only thing is, having so many trees around us it becomes a mammoth task picking them up from our lawns. With the amount of rain we get that doesn't help either. Still, I love e crisp days when you walk through the fallen ones and they rustle.
Sorry I am a week late but Internet and my iPad had a clash last week and would not work well at all.
