My friend Susan and I drove to Bancroft (about 2 1/2 hours from here) for a small annual stamp convention called Stampfest. It was fun to see all the people I usually only talk to online, and a few more personal friends as well. This is a record of what I bought that day.

August -we had a miserable heat wave, as we always do each summer. It's funny how people seem to forget that. All of a sudden its "Global Warming" proof! We did reach a record high for that one day though. With my asthma, I spent most of it inside. A few other days are also journalled. The middle thing is a piece cut from a Dali painting from a calendar (sorry Salvadore!)

Near the end of July, my friend marg and I went back to Toronto for a mini-holiday! We stayed at my favourite place, Holiday Inn on King, and went to see the Lord of the Rings play (musical?). Marg had won free tickets, and we had a ball for 2 days! Bought more stamps! Frodo's pouch holds all the bits and pieces of the trip, including stuff that fell from the sky at the play!

My next entry wasn't until July 2006. I had been very busy working on my Elementary Montessori training, and unsuccessfully trying to open an Elementary class in my school. Oh well, I'll try again next year! I used a new dollar store roller stamp for the edges. The thing on the top left is an experiment - a piece of paper towel I had used to clean some letter stamps, it looked really cool, so I thought I would use Gel Medium to attach it. It kind of muddies everything up. Then I attempted to stamp "JULY" on top, which you can just barely see! I like how the yellow flowers brighten up this page. I used a silver gel pen to write.

My second page about my week with my daughter. You can see my week-long Subway Pass peeking out of the pocket. Also the stamps I bought at the stamp store.

I spent a week in May with my daughter, staying in her new apartment. It was great fun, getting to know her roomate Pat, buying things for the apartment -toaster, couch, animal print carpet and pillows, and red end tables, all Caitlin's choices! It was a fun and tiring week living the student life again! She took me to the ROM, to her favourite hangouts and stores, and I found a few neat places on my own! The central picture is my working page for a Johnny Depp Fat Book.

I spent a day with my friend Marg playing with transfer techniques. Of course I used my favourite subject, Johnny Depp!
