WOYWW - Feb 26

I think I missed the last two Wednesdays, but here I am today. When I realized it was WOYWW (see sidebar for more info) I jumped up and took pics of my Workspace. Surprisingly neat! Doesn't mean I haven't been busy, though!

Here are today's photos:

And here is my newest Journal Page for

I hope everyone has a wonderful Wednesday today! We have a fresh 3" of snow - how about you?

Journaling!

I have changed the way I journal. Again! I have been writing a journal daily on my computer since August 2013, and found it was rather strange to just repeat and repeat by journaling my life in my art journal as well. So, now my life is private, and I have joined two journaling groups, as I think I mentioned in my last post. I am enjoying following their prompts, although I haven't followed all of them.
Here's the first one:
The prompt was -Make a flap on your flap. So, 2 flaps. OK. I had never really done this before! I found a page in an old art journal that I am actually using for the purpose of ripping out and incorporating them into journals or Project Life. That was my first flap, and i just went from there. Earlier this week I got some lovely "Happy Mail" with a tag saying "Smile" The tag was mostly blank, so I could add to it, and that was my second Flap!

I am also only using the right side of my Moleskine watercolour book, and writing how I did the page on the left side. This also allows me to be always working on a flat surface. So this is everything all closed up:

And now my small flap (the tag) is opened:

The large flap is opened to reveal 2 new pages:

The left page - about friendship and meeting one of  my BFs at Starbucks every week. The vellum quote got all wrinkled when I used Gel medium on it. Don't do that!

The page on the right is about Valentines Day! This time I used my Xyron to adhere the vellum. That's the way to go!

I really enjoy technique prompts. I really don't like writing prompts!

The other Journal prompt group is called Journal52. This week's prompt was "Found Poetry" I have seen this before, but never done it. I'm terrible at poetry. But I tried! here it is:

I realized I need an "of" for it to make sense, so I added it. Maybe it makes sense. I don't know. Poetry often doesn't make sense to me!

So that's it for today! Thanks for looking!

WOTWW-Feb 5

Another Wednesday! And this is a SPECIAL DAY for my blog - it's 9 years old today!!!!

Hard to believe! Anyway, it nicely fell on WOYWW (click the Paisley sidebar button if you don't know what this is), so here is my room as I walked into it this morning:
A mess! At least I have been busy!

Here I am working on one of my October PL pages -oh, BTW - I started a NEW blog just for PL, if interested go here

I opened my journal so you can see my last page - an abstract page for my Journal52 FB group (you can see the stencil I used in the first photo)

And I turn around. . .oh joy! Another snowstorm! Aren't we lucky! (Only 42 days, 11 hours, 46 minutes and 14..13..12..10 seconds until Spring!)

So that's it for today! Thanks for looking! And if you are interested in PL, have a look at my other blog (birthday will be Feb 4 - how convenient!)

2nd Post in One day - I'm on a Roll!

This is my first post for The Documented Life Project.
The challenge was to find something on Pinterest to inspire you. I love tags, and I saw this post today, and I did it! The tutorial is by Shelly Kuck from Splitcoast Stampers. I loved how she did the collage stamping on tags, and I thought it would be great as a journal page!

I realized afterwards that I didn't do the ribbon correctly, but that's OK. Also I used Dylusions spray instead of rubbing with Distress Ink at the end. I like how it turned out!

Thanks for visiting!

Journal Pages

Hello! Happy Groundhog Day!! My daughter and her Dad watch "Groundhog Day" every year, whether they are together or not!  Ontario's Wiarton Willie emerged from his cozy den this morning and immediately spotted his shadow, which according to groundhog folklore means Canadians can expect six more weeks of what has already been a long, cold, snowy winter. Joy.

On that note, I have two Journal pages for you. I have slightly altered how I do my journal (I always seem to do that - I'm all over the place!) The journaling I'm doing now is following some prompts that come up in the several journaling groups I'm in.

As I mentioned in my last post, Persevere is my word for 2014:

On my Journal 52 group the prompt for 2 weeks ago was "What makes you smile?" Well, my new 6mo old kitten, Inky does! Everyday!

I'm starting a new journal prompt today from The Documented Life Project which I will post when it's done!

Thanks for looking!
