WOYWW #751

Another Wednesday, time for a peek at each other's desks and projects! If you would like to learn more, just go to http://www.stamping-ground.blogspot.ca/p/what-is-woyww.html. Maybe you could join our little group!

Hello! It is a rainy gloomy morning here in Ontario, but not too cold.

I had a lazy day yesterday...

You can see at the top of the black paper a paper doll, not mine though, but I've had her since 2010. I was in a different group back then, and we must have a had a swap of some sort and I got this doll, which I fell in love with, and she's been by my side every since! She was made by a woman who goes by Tolegranny, and I haven't communicated with her in years. Isn't she fab? She has a beehive as a skirt!

I am just finishing up on my pages and cover of my new journal, and hopefully it will be all together by next week.

I made a wedding card this week for a friend to give to her son at his wedding...

And now, my first flip through video. This is the circle book I made from Meaghan Quillan's Fodder School 2 class. It holds the lyrics to The Circle of Life from the Lion King:

I couldn't figure out how to rotate the video...maybe I will do better next time. Any tips or pointers are welcome!

Have a wonderful week, Inky and Mittsy say "meow"!

Hello all! It's getting colder here, the cats go out for 30 minutes or so then need to come in to warm up, then go out again! Soon they will refuse to go out at all.

I am writing this on Tuesday as Wednesday is very busy, and I won't have time. So here is my desk:

I am deckling the  edges of my journal pages this time to see how that looks, so far pretty good!

Here is a comparison of the 2 methods of making the pages, the left is with the dauber, the right with the roller. I can see a difference, but not much, I think it will be OK.

Here are the journal pages I made this week...

In memory of the terrible attack by Hamas on Israel, and hoping that someday there will be peace in the Middle East, and thinking of the innocents on both sides

And the Paper Doll I made...

I also finished my little Circle of Life book:

I will try and do a Flip-through for next week (I've never done one before!)

Well, that's it for me! Next week my new Journal should be finished and ready to use! I hope you all have a wonderful and creative week!

Mittsy and Inky both say "meow" to all their kitty friends on WOYWW!

Hello! What a difference a week makes! Last week we were basking in 30°C weather, today it's 10°! Here is my desk this morning:

I am working on this journal page:

It's pretty much done, just need to erase the lines.

Here is some of what else I have been working on this week:

making more fodder...

finishing one side of my new journal pages...

and instead of Thanksgiving this year we went on a nice drive in the countryside...

The leaves are just starting to turn. Then we had Schnitzel & Spatzle (mine is Jägerschnitzel with the mushroom gravy) at a wonderful German restaurant called Maximillian's

Delicious!!

So that is me this week, now I'm off to get a mammogram. Yippee! (not!)

Have a wonderful week, Meows from Inky and Mittsy,

Hello all! We are having summer in October today with temps going up to 29°C! Crazy! Our leaves are starting to turn, we will be going on our annual "Leaf Tour" on Sunday so I will have pics for next week. Thanksgiving is this weekend, but we are foregoing it this year.

Anyway, here is my desk this morning:

I am working on making my second JIYA Journal, and have to prepare the pages. I really don't have space to do the 6 giant pages I need to do, so I have cut them down first and am doing 24 pages instead. Also I am experimenting on how to add the top coat of white stencil to tone it all down. Last time I did the dauber method which really killed my arm. So I am experimenting with using a roller this time. Here are the results of the experiment:

1-foam rollers, one with paint, one dry

2-fluffy roller, with dry brush

3-fluffy roller, then dry foam roller

I think #3 is the winner! It will certainly save my arm!

Here are the smaller pages with my new colour combo - yellow, orange, leaf green and a brick red.

I had a happy surprise when I got home from Toronto last Friday, an envelope full of Funky Fossil images! (Thank you Mary Anne!) I had never seen these stamps before, I can't get them here, and I love them all! So of course I had to make paper dolls right away:

I hated this journal page with just the flowers - what the heck was I going to do with this! But the Universe always comes through. It reminded me of the 60's (yes I was a teenage hippy!), and this image was perfect!

So that was my week, I hope yours was just as fun!
