WOYWW #452

Another Wednesday, time to peek at each others desks and projects! If you want to know what WOYWW is, just go to http://www.stamping-ground.blogspot.ca/p/what-is-woyww.html  and all will be revealed!

Good afternoon all (yes, I didn't get around to this until this afternoon!) I should take a page from those of you who make their posts on Tuesdays! I have every good intention of doing this in the morning, but other stuff got in the way. Also, if you want to see my desk this morning, all you have to do is look at last week's photo - it hasn't changed!

So I thought (if anyone is interested), I would take you on a tour of my small stamping room. It is the 4th (and smallest) bedroom in my house, and was, before I got to it, an upstairs library when my Dad was alive. So it was floor to ceiling bookshelves on 3 walls. They were well stuck to the walls, so I left them, and I had to make some of the spaces narrower, so I added wooden shelves, one or two, in each space, and some I left as they were. I used Jenga (yes, you saw that right) pieces glued to the sides of the shelves to hold the shelves in!  So can see the wide shelves, and some narrow shelves.

So even though I don't have a desk pic, I have a lot of pics to show you of the mess I call my stamping room. And no, you don't have to look at them all!

Here goes:

And last but not least. . .

Someday I will clean this room up and will show you it all nice and tidy!

Now I'm off to peek at yours!

Hello all! I hope everyone is in good health, and full of creative juices! Today's desk is quite busy because I made my baby brother (turns 62 today!) a birthday card. He thinks he is a pirate.

Here is his card:
I used a beautiful drawing by KaloqnStoqnov, and cut out the face, adding my brother's face to it!
my brother's passion is his little rowboat...!
Two journal pages for you today, this one I finally found the right sentiment:
and this is my newest one:

Well, that's it for me today! I'm not feeling too well, so I'm going back to bed for awhile, but I will go to visit blogs later today or tomorrow! Inky Inky says "meow" from her tent, which she loves, especially since it partially sits on a heating vent - it must heat up the whole tent!

Have a great week,

WOYWW #450

Another Wednesday, time to peek at each others desks and projects! If you want to know what WOYWW is, just go to http://www.stamping-ground.blogspot.ca/p/what-is-woyww.html  and all will be revealed!

Hello everyone! It's a beautiful day here in Southern Ontario, the snow is gently falling, and it is a balmy -9C. Much nicer than the -20C we had yesterday! Hope everyone is having a great day!

Here is my desk this morning:
 A relatively busy spot!

I told you last week I may need another set of drawers for more ink, and I did:
I went through all my old inks that I haven't used, really, since Distress Inks came out, and found most of my colorbox inks were dried up and/or disintegrated. So they all went in the garbage, and what was left went into the new ink drawers, which is now full. I'm not sure yet if I want to replace the pigment inks.

I also moved my Big-Shot, not sure if it will stay there yet.

My new journal page was interesting, I wanted to use this Paper Artsy stamp that I hadn't used for a very long time, and I just couldn't get it to stamp. I thought I would use my new Stamp Platform, but it just didn't do the job at all. I just ended up placing the stamp on the paper and pressing it with my fingers. I thought for sure the Platform would do the job, but was disappointed. Anyone else with this problem of using just the rubber (no backing) with the Platform?

The page is not finished yet, still waiting for more inspiration!

I accepted the Twofer Card Challenge that Julia did last week! It was fun! My blog post for it is here

I have been mostly busy here in my office, trying to clean it up. It was a MESS. But I'm trying to do something every day.

Looks much better! Inky is asleep under her hammock, as she is wont to do!

I hope everyone has a wonderful week, see you next time!

Twofer Card Challenge

I was reading Julie Dunnit's post today, and she mentioned she had participated in a "Twofer Card Challenge". Well, doesn't that sound intriguing, so I went to the link: https://twofercardchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/
and thought I would try!

The theme of the challenge is "to make two different occasion cards featuring the same themed stamp/image/die cut."They have a challenge theme stamp to use each month, this month it's "feathers". After seeing Julia's beautiful cards here,
I thought I would give it a try! "The goal is to stretch your creativity as well as your stamps and dies by making two distinctly different designs using the same prompt stamp or die." I also love the concept of NBUS (Never Before Used Schtuff), goodness knows I have a lot of that!

So here is my first entry, using a Tim Holtz feather stamp and die set that I bought a couple of years ago, and never used yet:

The bird is Inkadinkadoo (Michael's) and the background is a Stencil with Distrss Inks (I think the stencil is Stencil Girl)

The background on th is one is a stencil too (one of my favourites, not a NBUS) with Dylusion Sprays, the frame is Paper Artsy (NBUS) and the thank you is Stampin' Up (NBUS as well!). For the thank you stamp (all the words are on one stamp) I used Kaleidoscope ink, also NBUS! We should also have HEBUS (Hardly Ever Before Used Schtuff!)

Well, that's it for me, I will add these to the challenge page and see what happens!

WOYWW #449

Another Wednesday, time to peek at each others desks and projects! If you want to know what WOYWW is, just go to http://www.stamping-ground.blogspot.ca/p/what-is-woyww.html  and all will be revealed!

Greetings! Hope everyone is well, and that the flu is over and done with in your part of the world! Here is my desk today:

and my first journal page of 2018, using my new stencils that my DD Caitlin gave to me for Christmas:

Yes, Inky and I are already fed up with winter!

Here is something I did in my craft room, I don't know if it saves any space or not, but it gets all my inks in one place. The first 4 drawers are all Distress Inks, the 5th are Oxides, and the last 2 are regular coloured inks. I know I will need at least one more of these. It is sitting on my right hand side.

And here is Inky playing with one of her Christmas pressies - a burlap fishy!

So that's it for us today! Short and sweet - working the evening shift tonight!

WOYWW #448

Another Wednesday, time to peek at each others desks and projects! If you want to know what WOYWW is, just go to http://www.stamping-ground.blogspot.ca/p/what-is-woyww.html  and all will be revealed!

Hello everyone!
I hope everyone has had a wonderful start to 2018!

Apart from hubby missing New Year's Eve, and our annual New Years Day Chinese Buffet Brunch,  due to the same sickness I had over Christmas, it was fun! My DD, her hubby, and I played Settlers of Catan (our 2nd annual New Year's Eve game!), and of course, Jamie won again, 2 years in a row. We will have to get him next year!

My desk this morning:

The first 2 cards I made with the Stamp Platform , getting ready for next year already! I chose this stamp because I had never had any success stamping with it for some reason!

I think I'm going to be using this platform a lot!

Here is a plaque I found at a thrift store - my word for 2018!

I also had my birthday on Monday, my Mom gave me a little Kodak Mini-Printer and film! I can print small photos (credit card size) from my camera! Should be fun for my journal!

So Inky and I wish you all the very best for 2018, and I will leave you drooling over the awesome cake my DD made for me for my birthday - all from scratch! That's my girl! It won't last much longer! (and then I have to get back to my diet!)
