WOYWW #460

Another Wednesday, time to peek at each others desks and projects! If you want to know what WOYWW is, just go to http://www.stamping-ground.blogspot.ca/p/what-is-woyww.html  and all will be revealed!

It is a foggy, miserable day today in southern Ontario! But at least the temperature is above zero! Almost all the snow is gone, I can still see some  in the neighbors yard. I have yet to convince hubby to take down the Christmas display yet, hopefully this weekend!

I have done nothing in my stamping room this week, so my desk looks exactly the same as last week. But I did finish my watercolour:

Not too bad for a first try! Hopefully it will get better!

I got a neat Kodak Mini-Printer for Christmas, kind of an external instant camera, I can print photos right from my phone. I was taking a watercolour journaling class, and the teacher recommended this printer, and said it was great for "extending a photo" by drawing and watercolouring past the restrictions of the photo. So I tried it, extending a photo of Inky that I had on my phone:

I still have to add the watercolour part, but it's a fun idea!
So that's it for me, no desk today, but at least I did something

Here's Inky with her favourite fishy toy. We have a routine, while I'm getting dressed in the morning, she's on her back on the bed, waiting for me to toss her the fishy!

Have a great week, and HAPPY EASTER!

WOYWW #459

Another Wednesday, time to peek at each others desks and projects! If you want to know what WOYWW is, just go to http://www.stamping-ground.blogspot.ca/p/what-is-woyww.html  and all will be revealed!

Happy Spring everyone! Even though it still feels like winter (-9C today), we know that we are moving towards warmer weather! Yay!!

Here is my desk this morning, not a lot happening!:

This is my new journal page from yesterday. The hand is a stencil, the flower border some Washi Tape (back when they used to make really good washi tape!)

My new watercolour journal page, done on St. Patrick's Day. i had lunch with my Mom (I had Pho), and I wanted to practice my cylindrical shapes, and then there was this photo on Twitter of all the Queen's U students getting drunk and out of control on the streets, thousands of them. But this guy was wearing this crazy hat, so I chose him to draw.

Here is my "alternate desk" this morning, with my next journal page in progress, from a photo of a friend and I saying goodbye (she is moving away) on Tuesday. It's quite a challenge!

And kitty bliss in the Spring afternoon sunshine!

Have a wonderful week!

WOYWW #458

Another Wednesday, time to peek at each others desks and projects! If you want to know what WOYWW is, just go to http://www.stamping-ground.blogspot.ca/p/what-is-woyww.html  and all will be revealed!

My desk, yesterday afternoon:

I was working on my journal page, when I lost my main image (the Goddess), and couldn't find it anywhere. That's when I thought I should take a break! I never did find it, I had to make a new one.

This was my 2nd desk this week - my dining room table. I am teaching myself watercolour sketching for a nature/daily journal. I started on this is the fall, then dropped it for some reason, and now I picked it up again because I found a fab teacher online (Gay Kraeger)!

This is the page I did yesterday from this journal, from a quick sketch I did in October 2017
I hope I can keep this journal up!
I made myself a traveling bag for my watercolour things - they all fit!

and the bag is about the size of my journal

I made 2 journal pages last week:

This one was kind of a look back on my youth in California. AND I found my lost stencil! (along with several more that I didn't know were missing yet!) I was so happy I used as many as I could on this page!

And this one I decided to start with a quote, and go from there
It was this one that gave me talk-back. I think it hated the first image I cut out of the Goddess, and lost it, and it is still lost. I was forced to make a new one, but NOT the same paper! I chose the paper, but then (the page) had me turn the paper over and stamp on the back - which was the real side that it wanted! I think the page was right, this looks much better then the first one I cut out. Listen to your pages! The quote is "The present moment is a powerful Goddess" -Goethe

It is STILL winter out there. . .

and this is still Inky's favourite place to sit and get warm after venturing outside! Can you see the heating vent just peeking out from under her tummy?

I hope someone out there is enjoying Spring weather. . .we can't wait!! Have a great week,

WOYWW #457

Another Wednesday, time to peek at each others desks and projects! If you want to know what WOYWW is, just go to http://www.stamping-ground.blogspot.ca/p/what-is-woyww.html  and all will be revealed!

I missed last week! Aaack! I'm not sure what happened, I had my pictures all ready to go, and I was invited to breakfast on Wednesday morning - who could turn that down? Then to lunch with my Mom afterwards (to the restaurant next door to the one I had breakfast in!), then I was going to go to the gym, but I stopped by the store where I work for a minute to pick something up, and they asked if I could work that night, of course I said yes, and by the time I got home at 10pm I was zonked. Then I had to work the next two mornings in a row, so WOYWW kind of got lost! But nothing has changed since last week, I have not had the time to get to my stamping room, so here's last week's (and this week's) desk:

I'm going to be giving a free Art Journaling class to a group of women living in a shelter that is run by my ex-sister-in-law, so I've been preparing for that. Tomorrow I'm going to have a test run with a friend who is visiting me from Niagara Falls for the week.

This is my latest journal page in response to the Florida shooting.

That's it for me and Inky this week, short and sweet as my friend is staying until Friday. Today we went to our local art museum and had a great time, and we had  lunch at a very "folksy" restaurant.

Have a great week!
