Woyww #595

Another Wednesday, time to peek at each others desks and projects! If you want to know what WOYWW is, just go to http://www.stamping-ground.blogspot.ca/p/what-is-woyww.html  and all will be revealed!

Hello everyone! I hope everyone is healthy and happy!

Here is my desk:

I got a sample card from Stampin' Up that I liked, so I made it into a Christmas card, using my new SU papers and dies.

And this is another card I made last week:

This stamp is from Wordsworth, look at the capitals in this to see what it says!

and these are from Stampington

and this one from Hero Arts

Do you celebrate Halloween where you are? It's very big in Ontario, and because of Covid-19, many cities are having to cancel, such as Toronto and Ottawa, but here we are designated "green" and Hallowe'en is ON! We still have to follow guidelines, but the kids are excited. We made up these baggies of candies that look like hands!

I put a few Hallowe'en touches in my living room yesterday, and I think it looks really hygge!

Here is my coffee table...

and this is the box on the coffee table that I made a few years ago...

and this is the inside of the box...

We will be having a social distanced Halloween, no knocking on doors, no handing out handfuls of candies, we will set up decorations and a table at the end of our driveway and just put out of few baggies at a time for the goblins to come and pick up. Hopefully it won't be too cold!

Here's Inky all comfy cozy on her throne...

and here's Mittsy saying "Brrr! It's getting cold out here! Let me in!" It actually snowed yesterday afternoon!

If you are celebrating Halloween this year, have fun and stay safe!

Mittsy the Hallowe'en cat!

WOYWW #594

Another Wednesday, time to peek at each others desks and projects! If you want to know what WOYWW is, just go to http://www.stamping-ground.blogspot.ca/p/what-is-woyww.html  and all will be revealed!

Hello from a rainy day in Canada! It's getting colder, although Mother Nature is throwing a bone to us tomorrow with a predicted high of 21°! Today's high is 17°, not too bad, but it can only get colder from here on in!

Here is my desk, unchanged from yesterday when I took the photo:

I don't know how I have been keeping it so neat! But I can see my work area slowly decreasing...

Yesterday was our 36th wedding anniversary! I made hubby a card that he opened to Bryan Adam's song   "(Everything I Do) I do it for you"

I used a clothing tag! Jeans stamp - Hero Arts (I think)

                                               words from the song

both of these stamps were dollar store stamps,
the background paper is from Bohemian Crafting

Nothing too romantic for dinner, since we can't go out, and our fav restaurant was closed on Tuesdays, so we got a Chinese Take-Out Feast instead! This will last us 3 days at least!

We each order a combo that we like, then a bunch of other things as well. That way we get a little bit of everything we like!

Do you remember the scroll project? The project that I was making from the inside tubes of 2 macramé cord wheels? Here it is!

And this I wish for all of you!

No kitty pics today, but there is this - spooky!

Have a wonderful week! Inky and Mittsy say "meow!"

WOYWW #593

Another Wednesday, time to peek at each others desks and projects! If you want to know what WOYWW is, just go to http://www.stamping-ground.blogspot.ca/p/what-is-woyww.html  and all will be revealed!

Hi everyone! Boy, we are getting close to 600 posts! Last weekend was Canadian Thanksgiving, and on the day (we celebrate on Sunday) the weather was incredible - warm, sunny, a gorgeous fall day! The downside was we weren't allowed to have guests, it was just the two of us and my Mom. But that was OK, we still had a good time, and Face Timed with our DD and her new family. "Next Year!" seems to be the battle cry these days!

Here is my desk today:

I have been busy though...

Background: Hero Arts; Leaf Stamp:  unknown

and more Christmas Cards

Stamp: Magenta; Background music: Bohemian Crafting; Sentiment: unknown

Background: Hero Arts, Stencil: Tim Holtz; Snowflake die: unknown

I used my new brushes for the stencil - I was even able to get just the little red berries with the smallest brush!

Here are some Thanksgiving photos:

                Table for 3...

Deviled eggs - usually DD makes them, but hubby made them this year...

Our spatchcocked turkey - only takes 1 1/2 hours to cook a 10 lb turkey!

Pumpkin soup (real pumpkin, not from a can!)

Turkey Soup the next day!

And my Showstopper - Apple Cinnamon Crumb Cake and Maple Leaf Sugar Cookies

missing family...

And last but not least, Inky and Mittsy were playing through the window yesterday...

Mittsy was outside and Inky was inside, and they were batting at each other through the glass! And then I got this gorgeous photo of Mittsy!

Well, we all say "Have a great week! Meow meow!"

WOYWW # 592

Another Wednesday, time to peek at each others desks and projects! If you want to know what WOYWW is, just go to http://www.stamping-ground.blogspot.ca/p/what-is-woyww.html  and all will be revealed!

Greetings to everyone! Our first October post (wait - what happened to September? Time goes by so fast these days!) I've been bitten by the card making bug lately. I may even have enough Christmas Cards this year to send out!

Here was my desk yesterday morning:

But I have been busy!

Here are my new toys that just arrived. I've heard so many good things about these make-up brushes and stencils, I hope they work the way everyone says they do! (I've tried them out since writing this, they are awesome!!!)

Here are some cards I made this week. I was inspired by a couple of you-tube Stampin' Up videos by the Australian couple Kylie and Bruno Bertucci. I'm not normally a fan of SU stamps, once in awhile I see something I like, but their paper and inks are really nice. And I like their card ideas!

This one is called Scrappy Scrap or something like that, I thought it was a great way to use up Christmas paper scraps from last year:

This idea came from them as well, although it is an old technique. I often forget about those old techniques that I should be using! This stamp is from Viva Las Vegas. I got it in a grab bag (I love those grab bags!) and never did find a way to use it that I liked until now!

and this one with the same technique:

They called it "Joseph's Coat technique.

This next one was inspired from a card my local SU representative sent me when I asked for a catalogue. I made this one and the next one. (without realizing it I used a SU snowman stamp!)

You can see how the middle part opens up

I think I will make several more using these 2 techniques!

Hubby and I walked down to the lake (Ontario) on Sunday, and I snapped this view between two trees.

I also harvested the catnip on the weekend. It took the cats about 5 minutes to find where I had hung it up to dry!

Here is Queen Inky on her throne, saying "have a wonderful week, everyone!"

And that goes for Mittsy and me as well!
