Hello! It's already the end of August! Summer is slipping away...

Here is my desk this morning. I did some tidying last week, it doesn't seem like much, and there's a lot more to do!

I have a little more room now than I did before. I also put all my smaller scraps into these ziploc re-usable bags by colour, and I have my larger pieces sorted by colour in large ziploc plastic envelopes.

That should be a bit more helpful as I used to have my colour scraps in clear boxes that were difficult to get at. These are right behind my chair. I still haven't gotten to the mess I showed you last week, that will hopefully happen this week!

I did manage to finish the last page of my Niagara Falls Trip: (there's the alien that Angela saw on my desk last week!)

If you look closely at the bottom photo you can see the alien standing behind us!

And I did manage one more page in my journal - I really like this one!

I can't seem to help myself, even in the middle of a tidy-up, I come across something that inspires me, and I just have to do it now!! In this case it was an unfinished paper doll that need a face!

Well, that's it for me today, Hubby and I are off this afternoon to check out a new place to play pickleball this winter, the place we've been playing in all summer has to revert back to ice for curling! Hubby curls, so it will just be me playing pickleball. Maybe by Spring I will be able to beat him!

Hello from chilly Ontario! Only 12°C today - brrr! Someone needs to tell the weather that it's August!! The cats are in and out, not believing it could really be this cold!

Here is my desk this morning, I'm just starting the last journal page of my trip to Niagara Falls:

My art room is in a real mess, here is a small portion! I need to spend a day tidying!

I worked on my journal this week, catching up with my Niagara Falls trip:

Only one more day left to do! That's it for me today, short and sweet for a change! Inky and Mittsy say "meow" to all their furry cousins, have a great week!

I've been away, first to Niagara Falls, then to help my DD with Jasper while her hubby was away. So now I am back!

Here is my desk this morning:

I got myself a new mini-photo printer for the trip so I could add pictures to my journal. It worked very well! 

Here is my journal of the trip so far. It is in my Jaya Journal:

If you lift the flap with the eye on it there is a picture of us at the restaurant

This is the little pamphlet book behind the fox:

All the restaurants we ate at during the week! We also tried food at 3 food trucks, the tamales, samosas and Creole. The eggplant parmesan was incredible!

This is as far as I got so far, the rest next week!

When I was at my DD's house. I made a set of butterflies for Jasper to find when she got home from Summer Camp. They were made from a tutorial by Tiffany Sharpe. They are about 3 inches wide, so fairly big. Jasper loved them, and she taped them to the wall of her dining room, then the next day took them upstairs one at a time to stick them to the wall of her bedroom!

We went to see the fireworks above the Falls on Saturday night. To get to the spot where we were going to watch, we had to go down a funicular, it had a lovely view from the top!

The fireworks were spectacular!

On Monday morning we went to our favourite breakfast place in Niagara Falls - The Flying Saucer Restaurant! This guy watched us eat...

It was a fun trip, a week with just my friend, then hubby and 3 other friends came on Friday, and we had a lovely weekend together!

Hello all! I missed last week, unforeseen circumstances and all...but I'm back now! Here is my desk this morning:

I've been working in my Art Journal this week. I hadn't touched it since April! I think it's because I don't like the colour palette. I did two pages, then I had a dream that said "well, change it if you don't like it!' And it showed me what to do. So the next day I did what my dream told me to do:

The pocket is holding a lovely Mother's Day card from my DD, from last year, that she kept forgetting to mail! I'm glad she finally got it to me because it was worth the wait!

So now, moving on, I have given myself permission to do whatever I want, whatever colour I want, and change things as I want. I am going off to my yearly visit to Niagara Falls with my good friend Cairine, next week. We always have a wonderful time. I bought myself a new mini-printer so I can add photos to my journal.

That's it for my art adventures, but here's Inky...what is she looking at?

Why, it's the turkey come back to say hello! Inky was not happy and chased her across the road, and later that afternoon when the turkey came back again, little teeny Inky chased that giant bird all the way around the house! She's very territorial..

We've had such lovely July weather until today, when we are getting the remnants of Hurricane Beryl. Not too bad so far, just a LOT of rain and some thunder. Not even windy! A nice day to stay inside where it's cozy!

I've been making more ATC's from my Mastersheets/boards. This one was just made with strips of fodder:

And then cut up into ATC's, and finished:

That's it for me today, I really need to get to my Little Journal, which has now turned into the Little July Journal, and my big journal that I haven't working in ages!

I hope everyone is finding time to make art, sometimes it's hard in the summer, too much to do, places to go, too hot and sweaty...but it's nice when we can! Have a wonderful week, Inky is enjoying watching the storm from the porch, and Mittsy is curled up somewhere comfy in the house! They both send their purrs to their cousins across the pond!

It's July already! We are finally into the summer weather! The cats love basking in the sun on the porch, the yard is alive with birds, squirrels, foxes, and even a wild turkey!!

My Granddaughter Jasper was finally introduced to Grandma's Magic Room this weekend...

and I haven't been able to get back to it. But Jasper had a great time! She made 3 ATCs, one for herself and her Mom and Dad from the ATCs that I cut up from my masterboard last week:

And she stamped and coloured her own little paper doll! For the ATCs she chose the words, stamped a 3 on hers, added some marks, and the flowers and design piece on her Dad's. She was so proud!

So the weekend was spent with Jasper and her Mom, no time for Grandma to get into her own Magic Room!

She's just too cute!

They left on the 30th, and we had Canada Day on July 1st. We have a tradition of going to lunch and people watching that day, which we did!
