Happy September! It started to feel cooler exactly on September 1st. All the kids went back to school yesterday, including Jasper! She started the Montessori Toddler Program yesterday. She's growing up fast!

My desk this morning:

I told you I would show some pictures of our trip to Nova Scotia today, so here goes (hopefully I won't bore you with too many). It was a nostalgic trip as we were visiting family graves along the way, culminating at a funeral for hubby's older brother.

We opted for picnic lunches on the way there and managed to find beautiful parks like this on on the way to have them. Driving through Quebec and especially New Brunswick all you can see for miles and miles are trees, hills, mountains, and Beware of Moose signs!

This double rainbow was in Quebec, you can just barely see the second rainbow about an inch above the first. We had terrible rainstorms through Quebec.

We stopped in Fredricton NB to see my favourite painting that we visit every time we go east - Salvadore Dali's St James the Great. It is a giant painting, and absolutely breathtaking!

We went through the longest covered bridge in the world in New Brunswick

When we got to Halifax we visited the Halifax gardens which is a beautiful, a huge park in the middle of Halifax. Hubby remembers running all over the gardens as a boy.

They don't focus on flowers like Kew Gardens does, but more on landscaping.

And we spent time at Purdy's Wharf (where I had my lobster dinner)

The next day we were off to Peggy's Cove

Then to Lunenburg, a beautiful fishing town where the Bluenose Ship was built - this is a sister ship

Then off to Bridgetown which was the purpose of our visit, the funeral of Hubby's older brother. It was a sad family reunion. We stayed at an airB&B with a bit of a surprise in the backyard:

a very old cemetery called Clark Cemetery, a municipal cemetery very few know about. This is where we had the wake after the funeral. Kind of appropriate I guess.

The next day we were off home pretty much backtracking the way we got there, but not stopping here and there. Hours and hours of trees and more trees. We hit a big rainstorm on our second day, just before home. We were glad to get off the highway and home!

These clouds brought torrential rains, but luckily no hail.
