WOYWW #621

Another Wednesday, time for a peek at each other's desks and projects! If you would like to learn more, just go to http://www.stamping-ground.blogspot.ca/p/what-is-woyww.html. Maybe you could join our little group!

Hello all! Our last post in April! May will be an awesome month, especially since I will become a Grandma, and I will be vaccinated!

Time for another peek, my desk has gotten some use this week, but mostly for gluing unmounteds.

And my last week of April page in my BUJO, I'm really behind, I have a lot of work to do before Saturday!

I tried to get the flowers on this page to reverse - does anyone know how to do it? I tried stamping on an acrylic block, didn't work. I tried stamping on vellum (from a You Tube video) didn't work. I ended up just gluing down the vellum instead. Any tips?

This week has been rather exciting outdoors with foxes, raccoons and squirrels to chase! Mittsy did come nose to nose with Mr. Fox this week, and after I chased him off she stood guard on the porch waiting for him to come back! I think she thinks he wants to play...

I found this little guy in the backyard...

Mama having a little rest in our front yard without the kits...the cats were inside.

And another friend to play with...

It's funny, Mittsy sneaks up on the squirrel to surprise it, and that's all! She has never attacked one, sometimes chases it up a tree, but to her, I think, it's just playtime.

Well, that's it for this week, see you in May! I hope everyone has a great week, and Mittsy and Inky say "meow!

I like how you do the little tiny labels of things on your desk ! How fun to have a fox so close by. they are on a come back here, but usually never in yards. They use tree'd or government grounds mostly. We just had the sweet little Wrens comeback, it's still cool here just no sunshine. My rhubarb and fern peony froze off so my favorites are gone this year. Have fun playing catch up.

How lovely to have so many visitors in the garden. You asked about reversing the stamped image. I have always used a large wood blocked smooth surface stamp, one with out any detail that is especially for this technique but you can use a rubber embossing mat too, new ones are best as they wont have any marks on them. Place it in your stamping platform and stamp on to it if necessary do this a couple of times and then you can use this to create the reverse image by stamping with it. Hope that helps. Gosh Linda, I’d completely forgotten about reversing images! I used to use one of my Hero Arts shadow stamps and stamp onto that with pigment ink and then stamp the shadow stamp as the reverse image. I used pigment because it would hold better without having to squash the two stamps together and spread the image. Gosh , May is a big moth for you this year, I’m very excited for you. Glad it won’t be me taking Inky to the vet!!

To reverse stamp you are best lightly stamping onto a clean gel plate and then pressing it down onto the paper Linda. I often do it to get a reflection. It takes practice but if you find the right pressure it works well. Looks like Inky and Mittsy are having fun with the local wildlife. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah #3

It seems like your house is the place to be for the wildlife! I've never heard of reversing stamps before but seeing the comments has got me intrigued. I hope you find a way that works for you. Stay safe and keep smiling, Lisa-Jane #5

Sorry I'm late! I think you visited, i'm sure your name flashed up but my computer had a wobbler and deleted it! And it got tagged as a bad link or something! So I couldn't even call in. (Anyway, I'm here now!) Lovely to see so many different 'critters' we don't get those over here. Don't know how to reverse a stamped image...well, I've seen it done on You Tube with some kind of jell block, but if you stamp it out can't you then save it to Word on you computer and turn it over that way? Stay safe have a good rest of the week...Happy last weeks WOYWW! ((Lyn)) #8
