WOYWW #485

Another Wednesday, time to peek at each others desks and projects! If you want to know what WOYWW is, just go to http://www.stamping-ground.blogspot.ca/p/what-is-woyww.html  and all will be revealed!

Another Wednesday morning - they do come by quickly! I have been busy the past couple of days with an online tutorial called "The Day of the Dead Sugar Skull Art Journal Class" by Nicole Bray. So here is my messy desk today:

Here it is partially finished, I still have a ways to go. The colours should be more vibrant, but I don't have the expensive paints and paint pens she does. I probably should have used my Dylusions, but I didn't realize it would get so muddy. I'm sure by next Wednesday it will be finished. Not quite my style, too busy, too many layers! I will probably do another one when this one is done. I like the skull though!

I told you I would show the birthday card I made last week, but as usual, I put it in the envelope and sealed it before I remembered to take a pic. But I did take a pic of the envelope!

The card was bird-related too.

We have been having beautiful weather lately, but by the weekend things will cool down again, and we will be getting the tail end of the Hurricane Florence that devastated the Carolinas and Virginia. It was so sad to see this happening, Myrtle Beach is one of our favourite places. I hope everyone is OK, and that lives get back to normal soon. So sad for the lives that were lost, especially the children.

I thought I was doing so well with my tomatoes until it got really HOT, and a squirrel, or raccoon, broke off a big branch of my cherry tomato plant!

So I just stuck the branch into the tub on the porch where my lettuce had been.. .
Wow-now bigger than the mother plant! Lots of flowers too! I guess it was just too hot in front of the porch, I will have to plant all my veggies on the porch next year. And I planted more lettuce there too.

Well, time to leave you, I will visit as many as I can next week (my work hours have gone crazy these past couple of weeks - I'm so tired!). Inky says "Meow" from her favourite chair, and I say "have a great week!"

Your sugar skull looks awesome! Good save on the tomato plant - we had a newly planted hedge and about half of them didn't survive the heat despite us watering them throughout the summer. We'll have to patch up the holes with some new plants. Inky looks very cushy and has shiny black fur. She looks like Oreo without his white bits. Have a lovely week! zsuzsa #18

Hi Linda. You did well to save the tomato plant - it certainly looks good and healthy now! Hope you get the tomatoes before the season ends.
Take care. God bless.

HI Linda, ooh that is cool that the plant liked being re-potted to the porch. We have moved some tender things into the greenhouse already as it has froze here every morning this week so far. the interesting thing is we have not lost the whole garden as of yet. Love the vibrancy of the colors on the page a lot too! ~Stacy #29

Always enjoy seeing our desk. I sent a friend a pen holder almost exactly like the one you have. They are handy.

I really love your sugar skull. I had a friend send me a napkin with one nearly like that last year. Very impressive journal page.

Seems the hot weather has taken over many of our plants, but yours still look healthy for the most part.

Bleubeard and Squiggles say MEOW to Inky. Happy WOYWW from # 1.

Oh..loving the Sugar Skull, was going to get that stamp/die set long ago. Trying to visit before our electric goes out. High winds predicted. Have 4 inches of hard rain and more for today. Ponds are full. Those little critters find everything. Our tomatoes were not that abundant, but what we had were really nice. Your envelope is really unique. Love them ! My niece's husband retired 5 months ago and they left New Bern and moved to Chapel hill, they are so sad to see the devastation there. My son finally is getting settled near Boston, too busy to call I guess, but maybe this weekend. Have a good week.

Hi Linda, The skull looks fab.

We are definitely going into cooler and wet weather. We have very strong winds today and it's supposed to get stronger during the morning.

Often the way with plants. Glad it is growing well.

Inkly looks so comfy.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.

A lovely busy desk, Linda, and well done, rescuing your poor tomato plant. Your birdie envelope is lovely and I'd love to have seen its matching card. So easy to forget to photograph things, isn't it, when you get absorbed in what you are doing. Thank you for your visit and I apologise for the extreme delay in replying but I've had a busy and exhausting week and got really behind with all my emails and blog comments! I smiled at Inky deciding to get off you and sleep somewhere else - my hubby and I always say kitties only do things if it's their idea. You can put them on the bed and they jump straight off, but five minutes later thay are back on again! Typical... Ruby is spending a lot of time on my raised legs on the recliner these days now it's got colder and they don't want to be outside so much. Wish you could come and visit and eat all the goodies with me!! I'm getting very pleased with my sourdough results these days.

Happy extremely belated WOYWW,
