WOYWW #397

Another Wednesday, time to peek at each others desks and projects! If you want to know what WOYWW is, just go to http://www.stamping-ground.blogspot.ca/p/what-is-woyww.html  and all will be revealed!

Here is my desk today:

Looks pretty clean, doesn't it? That's because the only thing I've been doing lately is unmounting my stamps, and organizing them, along with my already unmounted stamps, in binders. I am just starting "B" - babies, and already I'm on my 3rd binder. One whole binder for Asia, another one for Africa and Animals (not including birds, insects or fish).

Oh, and I also made my first journal page for 2017. My word for 2017 is "attraction" for all the things I'm going to attract into my life this year!

Here is what I'm doing with my stamps:
As I mentioned before I am sewing my own pouches, this way I can make them any size I need.

I am also labeling each pouch so I know where the stamp goes, the name of it, as well as who made it.

Someone asked last week about all the stamps that fit into several categories. This is how I did that:

These are all the Asia stamps that can be found in other places, such as insects, postal stamps, faces, animals etc.

The only downside so far:
Boxes of wood. Not sure what to do with it! The stamps are coming off very easily, most just pull right off. Some I have to microwave for 5-7 seconds to loosen the glue. I'm thinking of making a video of how I'm doing this! I have my new i-Pad, and also something to hold it up high so I can make videos - this may be my first one!

Now I'm off to peek at your desks, thanks for popping by!

WOW, great stamp storage. So, are you removing stamps from wood mounts to use in a MISTI (or similar) or just to take up less space? Love the hammock pic!

Happy WOYWW and thanks for visiting me earlier

What a mammoth task you have set yourself. I am sure it would take me a year to do something like that but hats off to you. Brilliant idea!
Hugs & thanks for visiting me whilst I was out visiting in real life LOL

Hi Lindart, I prefer my stamps on the wood. Maybe you could fix the blocks together and make a surface to maybe put on top of an old table or something.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.

Hi Linda, great job. Makes so much more sense storage wise to go unmounted. If you have wood blocks of a suitable size, you can make yourself some ink blending tools- just buy some small drawer handles from a hardware store. I did a blog post on them when I did mine a couple of years ago. I've just put a load of my small stamps into coin collector storage sheets. Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #7 xx

Thanks for visiting. I thought I had a lot of work to do with organizing ! You will have like a library detailed info system. Great patience I'd say. Glad you are having fun doing it. Love the card in the far right hand corner.
Enjoy a lovely week.

your going to be so pleased with this space you gain once its all done ( your unmounting adventure) ( me, I started doing some of my sentiments last fall but, then I got busy with the holidays and never finished any of it... I need to stamp all the ones I have already done just to have index's of them all again first I think.
Thanks for the earlier visit, ~Stacy #40

I always enjoy a good organizing project, and it looks like your stamp organization is coming along nicely!

I like the journal page, too. Here's to a wonderful year of attraction for you!!!

Lovely stash and gorgeous journal page, Lindart - I adore the borders especially! It's really lovely. Love the kitty in a real hammock too - what we call cat hammocks hook over the radiator. They do love them! Thank you for your nice comment and I'm glad you like my embroideries. Fortunately the arthritis in my hand has abated a lot now, and if it plays up, I've got finger splints to stop the joint twisting, and I'm keeping it moving. As for the tooth, my motto as far as the dentist is concerned, is the least interference the better!! I haven't had any trouble with the other wisdom teeth apart from some slight "teething" discomfort and I'm hoping this one will settle down again as it's done in the past. I really don't want to face the ordeal of having it out!!!

Happy WOYWW,

ooooh a daunting task but worth it. Funny how so many of us are organising our crafty spaces at the moment - time of year I guess!! You should def do YT videos, I love YT tutorials whenever I'm trying something new and need some inspiration - will keep an eye out for yours. Annie C #21

that is such an undertaking.. wow the commitment!! but they will be easier to find once they are all catalogued :)

Maybe you could use the wood to create a frame or a mosaic or something? I am sure it would be a beautiful table top or project for someone :)

Have a great week,

It sounds like you have a plethora of stamps, so although it's taking you a lot of time, it'll be worth it in the end. Blessings!

Wow sounds like you've been really busy despite the tidy desk. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with all my stamps. They aren't really organised very well at all.

Love your 'word' - lovely page.

Happy Belated WOYWW. I can see how brilliant it will be when your mammoth task is complete - but would definitely not have the patience/energy to see it through. I only have a small basket of stamps - and do like them mounted on wood; quicker to use. Ali x #29

Gosh mega stamp storage project. You could use the wooden blocks to make stand alone art items. Thanks for the visit BJ#13

That's a lot of work, but it will be worth it. I would use the wood blocks for little miniature pieces of art :)

I don't have the patience to unmount my stamps. Fortunately most of mine are unmounted and I'll just live with the ones still on wood blocks :)
Your journal looks terrific and the sleeping kitty made me smile.
Even though your birthday has passed, you can still play along. I'll keep your birthday noted, but I also like to send Happy Mail for any of those 364 unbirthday days. Just drop me an email to cardiologydepartment@outlook.com with your info.
Have a wonderful week!

Well done on sorting these out. I did something similar and removed the wood (still have the blocks-they are too good to get rid of!!) then grouped like with like and then dumped them in old VHS video boxes with the generic 'theme' written on them-I take my hat off to you for going the next step, very impressed.

Thanks for visiting my desk already

Wow, that's quite some stamps you have there! Your storage in binders looks similar to how I do it (but I don't own as much stamps as you.)It works really well! It's almost another Wednesday and I am awfully late with my visit... thanks for yours last week! Love from icy Holland!
