WOYWW #808

It's What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday, time for a peek at each other's desks and projects! We are now sharing through Sarah, at Sarah's Craft Shed.

Once again writing this on Tuesday, Pickleball starts again tomorrow! It is a rainy fall day today, they are threatening snow on the weekend, but I can do without it!

Here is my desk this morning:

I had just finished making 2 more Christmas cards...I now have 5 cards in total.
I'm sure you know how to make these cards, but just in case, here is how they started:

I used watercolours and Posca Paint Pens to finish them off. Here are the three I previously made:

I wanted to try a couple of nighttime scenes, but I think I will stick to the daytime scenes! I also might add some sparkly snowflakes.

I have also finished a stage of my masterboard. Last week I showed you the collage, this week I stenciled over both sides.

Wait until you see what I do next week!

I can't believe our next WOYWW will be in December! Time flies! We are getting ready for our annual Christmas Party this weekend - our 50th if you can believe it!(I have a hard time...) These are all people from Uni, the boys all lived in the same house, and us gals married some of them! I will leave you with a picture of Granddaughter Jasper, getting excited about Christmas - her Mom has the tree and decorations up already!

Have a wonderful week!

PS: I don't get a chance to visit WOYWW until at least Thursday, so check your comments on the weekend! I usually try to visit everyone.

WOYWW #807

It's What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday, time for a peek at each other's desks and projects! We are now sharing through Sarah, at Sarah's Craft Shed.

We have been having warm-ish weather this week, blue skies, sunshine, but it's supposed to get cold tomorrow. I do not like the cold!! Here is my desk, taken yesterday:

This is a very big piece of paper that I'm collaging as the substrate of my fabric book for Fodder School 1. I did both sides, and then painted over top with a coat of watered down gesso. Here is how it looked halfway done:

I use the telephone book as a glue station, just rip off the pages as they get covered in glue. Not much else use for these anymore!

And here it is finished, before the gesso. And then I did the other side as well.

Last week I showed on my desk ribbons and such to be dyed, here they are. I didn't want to use alcohol inks, so I used distress inks:

I also spent some of last week block printing on some of my fabrics, that was fun!

I saw a You Tube video of these circles (also hearts, but I haven't made any yet) and made some up:

These would be great to add to journal pages, ATCs, or just to give out to someone. Great activity when I can't think of anything else to do!

Inky seems to love the colder days, sits on her chair soaking up the sun...but Mittsy prefers to stay indoors. Here she is on her tree watching us have our "wine time", which she always joins.

That's it for me today, I don't have Pickleball today, so I should be able to make the rounds today! Inky and Mittsy send their "meows" to their cousins across the pond, and I wish you all a wonderful and creative week!

It's What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday, time for a peek at each other's desks and projects! We are now sharing through Sarah, at Sarah's Craft Shed.

It is a cold blustery November day today! Feeling more like November, as we have been getting such warm days lately. Here is my desk this morning:

I am getting ready to dye that pile of cloth strips. My new project is a Fabric Book, taught by Wendy Solganik, Fodder School 1. Here is what I have been working on all week: dying fabrics...

Marking on fabrics, and block printing on them

Lots of fun, I don't know how much I will need, so this may or may not be enough!

I also worked on my JIYA Journal this week, some pages are using my new Megan Quinlan stencils:

This one is one I showed before, but is now completed:

That's it for my art this week, I am surprised at how much I got accomplished!

We had a visitor yesterday...

Inky is a good guardian of her property, even when the trespasser is much larger than she is! She actually chased Henrietta away a couple of times!

And Mittsy prefers to stay indoors, not chasing turkeys!

Well, that's it for me, we all wish you a wonderful week! Stay warm and cozy!

It's What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday, time for a peek at each other's desks and projects! We are now sharing through Sarah, at Sarah's Craft Shed.

It's November already! I won't comment on the election in the US, except to say "God help them".

Here is my desk (Tuesday) morning:

Something new on my desk today! My new project has started, but I won't tell you what it is yet. But you might be able to guess...

I finished my accordion book from Fodder School 1! This was a lot of fun, and I would love to make another one! Some of you (I know one did!) may have guessed the theme from last weeks post.

I played around a bit this week with my stencils, making "fodder". I'm almost done with my latest JIYA (Journal Into Your Art) Journal, and need to make another one.

Well, that's it for me today, I hope everyone has a wonderful week. Mittsy now refuses to go outside anymore, but Inky is in and out all day still. They both wish their kitty WOYWW cousins "Meows and Purrs"!
