Greetings everyone in Blogland! I have no idea where the time is going, except that it is going by so fast I can hardly keep up. I'm writing this on Tuesday and will still not have visited many who visited me, and for that I apologize. Hopefully next week will be better.

I made some magnets for DD and Son-in-law
showed hubby how to make shortbread...
made up boxes to give away
and ate way too many myself! All those take-out boxes I've been collecting sure have proven useful!
I have also been decorating, even though it will only be hubby and me:
This is the wooden advent calendar I made last year from one of my wood stamping blocks:
I want to get rid of all our VHS tapes and extend the Villiage to the shelves on the wall. It's very interesting to watch Mittsy walk through the Villiage very carefully, then choose something to knock to the ground!

Ooooh, yum, I love shortbread and ginger cookies too...what a great present! The villiage made me laugh, I think it’s brilliant that it stays up all year, why not?

Shortbread I think, is one of my most favourite treats. Love it. Your lovely hubby looks as if he was reallly concentrating...and what a great job! What a nice gift for your friend, it’ll be well received I’m sure. I love the tour of you’re decorations, the tree looks gorgeous and i just LOVE the sweetie baubles that are hanging just above the round section of the car track...just my sort of thing, that style of decoration. Look forward to seeing a walk around the man cave tree!
I made shortbread too-a nd it had to be vegan so that was a challenge . covered it in chocolate and turned out better than I thought! I thin k I have a magnet o yours for a swap!

I am SOOOOOO glad I don't live near by!!! LOL Goodness what a load of goodies!! I LOVE shortbread and the ginger-molasses cookies are probably my all-time fave!! YUM!! Love all your decorations and especially hubby's man cave!! I love little villages also, so yes, would be hard to take down! Too cute to look at!! Oooh Linda, what a mouthwatering post! I love the shortbreads with the pictures on them! I've never made any like that. It all looks extremely professional, and I just imagine the delicious aromas in your house... Mum used to make the most delicious shortbread I'd ever tasted. Trouble is, I'm completely dairy free now so butter is a no-no, and pretty much any added oil/fat too, and refined flour, so that particular food love has to be a fond memory! Your ginger molasses cookies look amazing too, and I can imagine that they have a good robust flavour. I am drooling, this side of the Pond!! (If you invite me to tea, I shall forget the diet and come like a flash lol lol!!) I love the "Villiage" and think that perhaps it, and Mittsy, aren't that good a combination lol! Kitties can walk very delicately when they choose, but knocking small objects off onto the floor is always a huge temptation.

Thank you for your return visit, Linda, and for your sweet comment! Interesting about different words for things - I think Canada is closer to the UK in this, which I suppose isn't surprising. I think it's hard to change to a different breakfast choice. We are mostly pretty individual when it comes to breakfast and like to stick to our favourites, don't we. I never thought I'd give up my beloved porridge (cooked the Scottish way) until I found my overnight oats recipe which I simply adore! My hubby doesn't like it. All the more for me!
Thank you so much for the link to the soup recipe. I must look into that. I bought a butternut squash this week but forgot to put it in what I was cooking so perhaps I'll try it! My electric pressure cooker also doubles as a slow cooker (crock pot - another transatlantic difference lol!) so I'm sure it will do well in that.
I'm glad you're enjoying the progress of the kitty throw. I just wish I had thought of doing it earlier, so it would be ready for my hubby for Christmas. I've told him his present won't be here in time so he thinks it's something on order - I am crocheting away at anonymous grey squares and he hasn't really commented on them which is good! I left the 2 cat stitch ones out by mistake and he handed them to me without a word - he never looks at anything lol!!! Phew - what a relief! We are loving our new furniture. My hubby says the chair is much more comfortable than the old one, which is good. The recliner on the settee (which I use) has a bit of a bump which just catches my calves and after a while it's quite uncomfortable, but a folded blanket under my legs has sorted the problem nicely. The kitties, of course, have fully adopted the new furniture, which of course we bought just for them!
