WOYWW #594

Another Wednesday, time to peek at each others desks and projects! If you want to know what WOYWW is, just go to http://www.stamping-ground.blogspot.ca/p/what-is-woyww.html  and all will be revealed!

Hello from a rainy day in Canada! It's getting colder, although Mother Nature is throwing a bone to us tomorrow with a predicted high of 21°! Today's high is 17°, not too bad, but it can only get colder from here on in!

Here is my desk, unchanged from yesterday when I took the photo:

I don't know how I have been keeping it so neat! But I can see my work area slowly decreasing...

Yesterday was our 36th wedding anniversary! I made hubby a card that he opened to Bryan Adam's song   "(Everything I Do) I do it for you"

I used a clothing tag! Jeans stamp - Hero Arts (I think)

                                               words from the song

both of these stamps were dollar store stamps,
the background paper is from Bohemian Crafting

Nothing too romantic for dinner, since we can't go out, and our fav restaurant was closed on Tuesdays, so we got a Chinese Take-Out Feast instead! This will last us 3 days at least!

We each order a combo that we like, then a bunch of other things as well. That way we get a little bit of everything we like!

Do you remember the scroll project? The project that I was making from the inside tubes of 2 macramé cord wheels? Here it is!

And this I wish for all of you!

No kitty pics today, but there is this - spooky!

Have a wonderful week! Inky and Mittsy say "meow!"

It's raining here in Lincoln UK too today but that means I have no reason to not sit here and visit everyone. The scroll project looks great and the food scrummy. Eating in seems like a good idea to me at the moment. Have Anniversary and wishing you a lovely week and a very happy woyww, Angela x20x

What a lovely post, Linda. A very happy anniversary to you both! We have now achieved 34 years so not too far behind you! Wishing you many more happy years together. I love, love, love your scroll project! What a fabulous idea. It looks so ancient and vintage - just glorious! Sorry not to see your Little Madams this week - Lily and Ruby send meows and purrs to them and a stroke from Auntie Shoshi too.

Thank you for your return comment last week and I found it very amusing your Trump comparison of Mittsy lol lol!! They are always so amusing, aren't they, with their funny little ways.

I've decided that the answer with the non-meatballs is not to mix them up with the pasta sauce but to put them on top at the very end. They've got quite a bit of okara (soya pulp) in them and I think it's this that soaks up all the liquid. I made them again this week and I added loads of extra veg stock and they still came out not runny enough!

Happy WOYWW,

Thank goodness! I hit a patch of no Open ID comments allowed and almost gave up!. I am glad to be able to tell you how much I love your scroll and your card. I did a card for hubby once that was inside a box frame where you rotated the drawer pulls to advance the scroll inside. I loved it. Not sure if the link will display but you can see it here https://scrappystickyinkymess.wordpress.com/2011/04/05/sdc27-triptych-card/

Your take-out feast is making my mouth water and it is 10:30 on Saturday! Oh dear.

Happy WOYWW, a few days late!

Sorry I’m late Linda! huge congrats on your 36th anniversary, a feast of a take out sounds ideal to me! Looks great, I love that you have little pumpkins on your table. I had a big jeans stamp like that - Judikins. I remember when it came out it was so finely etched that no one believed it would stamp properly! It’s been so useful. Meanwhile, am admiring your desk too, a small pile of Christmas cards and that scroll is simply awesome! You clever thing, never guessed that it cam out of something that I would have thrown away, it’s wonderful.

Thanks for your visit, Linda, and I was amused to read about Inky and Mittsy's antics with the little mouse! I'm quite sure it was a mouse that our 2 were after, as well. We do have a few in the garden. Where we used to live, in the country, there was so much small wildlife for the kitties to go after and in our time we've had some great hunters - Beatrice with rabbits was the worst - when she was young she couldn't get enough of them and one week, she got six! She would eat them and then sick them up all over the house - really gross! I used to say to her, "You can go off kitties..." She would always do it when we had company, or if my hubby was out and I'd have to deal with it.

I remember once putting on my slippers and getting the fright of my life because there was a mouse in one of them!!!

The best way to catch a live mouse that they've brought into the house, is to put lie a wellie on the floor and the mouse will run inside. You can then take it outside and tip it out. My hubby became a very good mouser in the old days when our old kitties were always bringing them in. The present two aren't using the cat flap so they aren't coming and going as they please, which simplifies matters for us! They are only allowed out under supervision because of all the problems we had early on with Ruby getting out.

I can't do a lot of prep on that particular counter in the kitchen, apart from working the machines. I use the peninsula unit which sticks out at right angles to that counter when I'm baking (biscuits etc) and all my chopping takes place the other side of the kitchen, between the sink and the hob, where my chopping board and knife block are. That unit is reduced height so I can sit on my perching stool to work, and I can reach both the sink and the hob without getting up. It's where I spend most of my time.

Have a great week and hope to see you again on Wednesday!

Good morning, Linda! Belated Birthday Blessings to you and hubby. What a thoughtful card! Such a romantic - but that's a good thing! Chinese take out would be our choice as well.. or a good steak. Thanks for sharing the Boris Karlof pic. Here in the US we get METv which runs a show on Saturday nights called Svengoolie. Every week he showcases a classic horror picture. I've not seen Sven run this one yet but we have seen several Boris Karlov and Boris Jr. Creative Blessings! Kelly #31
