WOYWW #579

Another Wednesday, time to peek at each others desks and projects! If you want to know what WOYWW is, just go to http://www.stamping-ground.blogspot.ca/p/what-is-woyww.html  and all will be revealed!

My desk hasn't changed much, as I really haven't been able to get to it.

Last week I had to pick some needed things for hubby's return on Friday, and the car just happened to take me to our local stamp store...funny how the car knows where that is! So I got myself one new stamp and 2 re-inkers. This is, actually, exactly what I was looking for!

Along with caring for hubby, who is doing very well and really only needs help with meals, I hurt my back, so it is painful to do very much except put the heating pad on it. But I went to my chiropractor yesterday and it's feeling better today. We have been having a heat wave over the past few days, with temperatures soaring above 40°C, and so I have had to keep the cats in during the hot afternoons. But they are out in the cooler mornings.

Inky's favourite spot. Mittsy doesn't often stop long enough to sit in a chair!

Here are my newest blooms, most of the rest of the garden needs de-heading so they can bloom again.

And I bought a catnip plant for the cats, I often see Inky chomping away on it, but Mittsy pretty much ignores it. Maybe that's why Inky looks so zen in her chair!

Well, that's it for me today! Mittsy and Inky give you a rousing "meow!" and I say "have a great week, stay safe!"

Hi!
So lucky to have a local store! None in sight here. The independent brick and mortar shops have all but vanished! A couple “big box” stores are over 2 hours away!

Take it easy with your back! Don’t push it. Things will wait. My husband hurt his knee/leg over a week ago! (So stubborn!) It’s wrapped and he’s using a cain, but I’m sure it will take longer as he won’t give it a rest. We’re retired so he could. .

Love your mellow kitty!

Happy Wednesday!

Well done on training the car to take you to the local store, it's a great excuse!! I'm glad your hubby is ok, hope he's being a good patient. I can't believe how your temps change so quickly but I remember how hot it got in Halifax NS when we were there two years ago.

Hi Linda, it's lovely to have a proper craft store nice and close, sometimes you have to see things IRL to know it's what you need. I gave up with catnip with our last cat, every time I planted it, he'd end up pulling it up and taking it off somewhere! Stay safe, have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #5 X

I'm so glad your hubby is recovering, Linda, but sorry to hear you hurt your back, which I hope will get better quickly! We can't have you out of action too! Take care of yourself and rest it if you can!

Our kitties love going outside when it's hot. They lounge about on the warm concrete or under the bench if it's too hot, and there are various bushes they like to sleep under. They send meows and purrs back to Inky and Mittsy! This is what our old kitty, Beatrice, used to enjoy - hot tubbing! https://www.flickr.com/photos/12780076@N05/50092020866/in/album-72157714858929471/

Thank you for our visit. Someone else explained about the droplets problem with singing. Oh well, it's back to singing in the shower, then! Lol! Hopefully we'll all be in full voice again soon. There have been some awesome online choirs with each person sitting in their own home, watching the conductor on the screen, and hearing everyone through their headphones! Isn't technology wonderful.

Oooh I'd LOVE to go shopping with you! Another boho/hippy/ethnic fan! We've got some awesome shops round here. You can often find good stuff on Ebay too. I would love to see some pictures of your daughter's Boho style wedding in due course - should be lovely!

My latest tofu is still grainy and fragile. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. It tastes great, though - tonight I dry saute'd cubes of it after marinating it and tossing it in cornflour and it came out lovely but not that crispy. I think you have to use oil to get things really crispy and I use hardly any oil at all in cooking nowadays. I haven't tried making silken tofu yet but have watched some YouTube vids about it.

I had a really good session in the kitchen today and am pretty much ready for our lunch out tomorrow - just a few finishing touches in the morning before setting off fairly early - it's a good 2 1/2 - 3 hour journey. We had a really nice lunch out yesterday - it's really nice to be able to meet up with people again.

Happy WOYWW,

Ouch, poor back. Take it v easy, everything will wait. HUbby seems to be doing well, am so glad to hear that. Must be nice to have him home where you can be in charge! I smiled at your tiny scraps bowl. Mine is called a bin! I really dont re-use little pieces anymore, not a great habit but its a storage thing too isn’t it. That an being honest with myself! Very impressed that ou went to the stamp shop and came away with one stamp that you’d been looking for - what self control you have!

So great photos. hoping your hub is on the mend. Mine has had re visits with new implant issues. I did not post this week, was dealing with Blogger issues and what I think was a kidney stone, so ice/advil and soreness today.
We need rain,it's been high 90's / 100 and humid, but forecast is for storms, hail/winds/tornadoes, I only hope they miss us, our crops are doing so good but a 2 inch rain would save them. Glad we are all crafty, it might be keeping us sane !! I need to travel 50 miles for most items now, I order on line and have some fun stamps coming, keeps my spirit up !!! Stay safe and wishing you the Best

Good job I've popped back. For once I was early doing the visits yesterday and then got caught up with other stuff but I'm here now. You poor things it sounds like you've both been in the wars. Sounds hot there, I prefer it a bit cooler. My friend bought their cat a toy with the catnip inside and he's been much more relaxed since he got it. Wishing you a very happy, belated woyww, Angela x15x

Hi Linda. Great car!!! Mine knows its way to the craft shop, too!! Well trained. Hope your back feels much better soon - and I'm so glad hubby is doing so well after his knee op. Brilliant. Trust the pain levels are cope-able!
Last week you mentioned Escape to the country - yes, it's a useful programme for looking at different areas. I love Britain as each county is so different from any of the others. I adore Wales - it's my heart's home. The Welsh word "Hiraeath" means that gut wrenching yearning to be home... yeah, you get the picture. I'm glad you like seeing Wales in my photos!
I'll keep adding some each week for you.
Take care. Stay safe. God bless.
