WOYWW #520

Another Wednesday, time to peek at each others desks and projects! If you want to know what WOYWW is, just go to http://www.stamping-ground.blogspot.ca/p/what-is-woyww.html  and all will be revealed!

Congratulations!! TEN YEARS! Whoo Hoo! I can't believe it! Here is a card I made 10 years ago and adapted for the occasion!

It has been so nice to have been a part of this community for quite a few years now (not 10 though!) and I have made so many online friends that I cherish. I love this group because it gets me to post on my blog at least once a week, and we get lots of ideas from each other. We can an commiserate on lost mojo, and celebrate when it returns. We can see each others desks that are just as messy as ours and not feel so bad. We can see something we have never tried before and try it. I have discovered Lavinia stamps in this group, and found several people who like the same artsy things as I do. I love peeking into people's lives, their families, their pets, their gardens, homes and trips. It really does feel like one big family!

Having said all that, lets look at my (particularly uncreative) desk this morning:

Not much happening here...

But last weekend was my DD's 33rd birthday, and she wanted bookmarks, just plain bookmarks with no tassels...

And I used the pocket that I made last week out of a chocolate bar box as her card. It doesn't look like much here, but I learned how to make a spinner card on You Tube, so when you take the clip off the side and open the card, a circle inside spins "Happy" "Birthday"! I tried to take a video of it, but it didn't go well...so you will just have to use your imagination! I brightened up the inside with red collage paper (you can see a little strip of it on the side), so there's a party on the inside! I popped the bookmarks in the pocket on top.

I have, very sadly😟, somehow lost my latest junk journal. I have looked everywhere, gone to every store and restaurant I could have possibly brought it, and no luck. I have a feeling that it might have accidentally slipped into the garbage as I was cleaning up last week, which is long gone. But I will keep my hopes up, and maybe it will turn up. In the meanwhile, I will make another one, and perhaps, as I get into the new one, the old one will turn up - that's how things work, right?

Here are Inky and Mittsy together outside, Mittsy no longer on the harness. I can't believe she's 8 months old to inky's 5 years (almost 6!) they are the same size! Mittsy stays close to home so far, as she is skittish and runs to the door whenever she hears a sound that scares her. She's only outside when we are out, so we can keep an eye on her. We have lots of Lilies of the Valley and Trout Lilies on the side of our house, and Mittsy is a leaf chewer, Lilies are poisonous to cats, so I keep a close eye...

I hope everyone has a wonderful week, I'm looking forward to seeing the ATCs that people will be receiving. I have yet to join the ATC tradition, perhaps next year...

The kitties say "meow", and I say enjoy the anniversary!

PS: I forgot to mention, I am now back at work! Many thanks to all of you who gave me kind words and encouragement!

I always love how you identify everything on your desk. It's a hoot to see how you label things.

those bookmarks are great and the birthday card is wonderful. I've made spinners in an AB, but never a card. Great job.

LOVED seeing both Inky and Mittsy. What fun to see both together like that. Bleubeard was happy to see he wasn't the only cat on the block this time (grin). Happy 10th from # 4.

I forgot to mention. I hope you find your journal. It's frustrating when that happens and all your hard work and effort is lost.

Those are very pretty bookmarks - I bet your daughter was happy with them. I can't imagine how the spinner card might work but will look it up on YT! Oh no, how did you manage to lose your journal? I do hope you'll find it hiding somewhere. Nice to see Mitsy out and about - I know it can be nerve-wracking letting them go at first. I still panic when Oreo is gone for more than an hour. I've heard about lillies too - hopefully, they know instinctively that they're poisonous. Oreo used to throw up regularly when we first let him out - he must have been eating stuff - thankfully, it doesn't happen any more. Happy 10th anniversary! zsuzsa #26

Really hope you find your junk journal, hope you did not leave it with your pile of art books from last week?? Fab remodel of your old card and handy created book marks, I went through a stage of making these from left overs a few years ago, so useful. Wishing you a very Happy 10th WoywW Anniversary, it's so lovely to see what your up too on a Wednesday, Julia certainly keeps us all focused. Hugs to those kitties Tracey #9

Your desk always looks so creative - primed and ready to go! I love the bookmarks, they are all gorgeous and I especially love the pocket to hold them in - those red butterflies are stunning, especially against the more neutral background colours - love it!

Hi Linda, the bookmarks and pocket card are brilliant. Love them! I don't seem to have visited you for a while so I trawled back through your recent posts - love the Inky and Mittsy pics, especially Mittsy climbing up the wall and dislodging all the pictures lol lol! Mittsy is so big now! Inky is very longsuffering. Mittsy reminds me of Ruby who winds up her sister - I think Ruby just wants to play but Lily gets all superior and won't join in! They have their little sibling rivalry spats! Goodness, they'll be 2 tomorrow!

I'm glad to hear you are well enough to go back to work. Just don't overdo it!

I'm really sorry to hear you've lost your junk journal. What a shame, after all that work, too.

Thank you for your visit and I'm so glad you enjoyed the card I made for my hubby, with Lily taking to the skies!

Thank you also for your commiserations regarding my PIP application. The worry and stress is taking its toll on me and I'm feeling total rubbish at the moment, but things are gradually coming together - I picked up my GP's letter today and should get the stoma nurse's one next week. I agree, it's all horrible because of the minority that tries to beat the system and claim it when they don't need it, and we have to pay the price.

My hubby is being so supportive and lovely, and said I should have treats to help me through it all, like he gave me when I was having my chemo. He said we should just go for the power chair and think about selling stuff to pay for it later!! So we may get it sooner than expected.

Happy 10th anniversary WOYWW,
Shoshi #15

Sorry I’m late Linda! Back at work..well done. Now to build up your stamina...I’m thinking that keeping an eye on Mitty may be a full on job when outside. A leaf chewer, well, who knew what cats get up to! Gah, am sorry about the Journal, I think I’ve done the same thing with a really useful die. Now you’ve turned the place upside down looking for it, I really hope it turns up now that you’re not looking for it. Makes total sense to me. At the very least you must promise yourself to enjoy the process of replacing it. But, 😤 argh!! Love the selection of bookmarks for your gal, great way to deliver them too, you are a clever craftswoman!

The Woyww-list is quite long in this anniversary-week and I want to visit everyone on it, so I am still making my round... sorry I am late. I always like peeking at your desk too, and the 'labels' make it easy to see what's on your desk. You got the idea from me I think? That's indeed what woyww-wednesdays do: get ideas from online friends, be inspired, try it yourself... you describe it so well, I feel just the same! Have a nice Sunday. Happy late-woyww-anniversary, hug from Holland. Marit #16

Hi Linda -Sorry to be so late commenting, blogger wasn't playing for me!! Happy 10th anniversary! Love the bookmarks - well done. So sorry about your journal - I know journaling isn't my thing - but you had put so much work into it... and to lose it. Trust it turns up for you and didn't get thrown out with the rubbish.
Take care. God bless,

Happy Anniversary, Linda! Ohhh nooo. I would be heartbroken if one of my journals vanished. If you need a bit of inspiration, I invite you to check out dearjuliejulie on YouTube. She will be starting a new Junk Journal Challenge around June 1. We have a different month-long challenge beginning the first of the month. I'm just about to finish my May journal. You'll find me at KellysCreativeStamping on YouTube. Since you said you attempted a video, does that mean you have a channel? I'd love to see. Creative Blessings! Kelly #33
