WOYWW #460

Another Wednesday, time to peek at each others desks and projects! If you want to know what WOYWW is, just go to http://www.stamping-ground.blogspot.ca/p/what-is-woyww.html  and all will be revealed!

It is a foggy, miserable day today in southern Ontario! But at least the temperature is above zero! Almost all the snow is gone, I can still see some  in the neighbors yard. I have yet to convince hubby to take down the Christmas display yet, hopefully this weekend!

I have done nothing in my stamping room this week, so my desk looks exactly the same as last week. But I did finish my watercolour:

Not too bad for a first try! Hopefully it will get better!

I got a neat Kodak Mini-Printer for Christmas, kind of an external instant camera, I can print photos right from my phone. I was taking a watercolour journaling class, and the teacher recommended this printer, and said it was great for "extending a photo" by drawing and watercolouring past the restrictions of the photo. So I tried it, extending a photo of Inky that I had on my phone:

I still have to add the watercolour part, but it's a fun idea!
So that's it for me, no desk today, but at least I did something

Here's Inky with her favourite fishy toy. We have a routine, while I'm getting dressed in the morning, she's on her back on the bed, waiting for me to toss her the fishy!

Have a great week, and HAPPY EASTER!

I hadn't heard of those photo printers before but what a great idea to use it in that way, extending the picture - it's a good starting point! I like your watercolouring, it's a medium I like the look of but have never had much success.

Interesting photo printer though I'm not sure I can get to grips with anymore new technology just yet. I've yet to work out how to get print photos from my mobile on the Canon Selphy I got two Christmases ago! Your watercolouring picture is lovely. Inky has got you well trained. Hope you have a wonderful week. Elizabeth x #28

I think that printer is a very good idea. My printer is supposed to accept my camera but I think Canon is in a different universe! I just love Inky she a Ms Kitty would have great fun playing together.

I wanted one of those printers for Christmas/Birthday/Anything???? But nobody took me up on it! Mine wasn't the Kodak one but very similar. Just for printing things out and putting them in my journal but that's a great idea for extending photos - like it and now need to either splash out or hint more for .... how many months????
Hugs to you and Inky, Neet 2 xxx

Hi Linda, thanks for your visit and meow to Inky. She looks most content with her fishy. That printer looks a most useful gadget. I like the idea of extending a photo! Happy belated WOYWW Sarah #7

I might have to google that printer. I love your extended illustration. My friend who is in the second year of the course I'm doing did a similar technique with a photo drawing. Instead of extending the photo she cut pieces out from the photo so - cut out the face and maybe the hands or a cup and then drew them in so it was a mixture of photography and illustration that way. I'm not explaining it very well but it was very effective and I can ask her if I can show you if you are interested in experimenting with the technique?

Have a good week,

Hi Linda! Just catching up - lovely watercolour portrait - the lady on the left (you?) reminds me of Meryl Streep! Great idea to extend photos into paintings - will keep that in mind. Oreo's got a little toy like that too - it's a banana filled with catnip. He always goes berserk after playing with it, high on catnip LOL! Happy Easter! zsuzsa #11
