I did manage to get a few other things done besides unmounting stamps this week! A friend of mine and I are going to do a 52 card set (lots of example online). I think it was meant at first to be a journal - one card for every week, but we're not doing it like that. My instructions from my friend was to paint the playing cards with black gesso, then choose 2 colors to smoosh together on both sides. So i chose to have one side one color and the other different colors. Here they are:
I liked the mess everything left!
I also made a birthday card for my brother:
It's been a very long time since I did any Stampscapes - I am in dire need of practice!! I actually watched several Stampscapes videos to get back on track.
And here is my desk this morning:
Getting a page ready to sew the pouches for these stamps. I have finished "Birds" and am now in "Birthdays". The stamps standing up are going downstairs to me microwaved so I can pull the rubber off. You can also see my cup of Peppermint tea, the marker and cutter I use, and the pencil to draw the lines to sew on. The Versifine Ink pad is what I've been using to stamp the images for the pouches, then I tuck the stamp behind. I've drawn the lines, the next step is to pop the page into the plastic page holder and sew on the lines, then cut the pouches open.
Well, that's it for me today. Here is Inky, waiting patiently as I write this blog post! Thanks for visiting!

Wow. Look how clean my desk is this morning! I actually put things away yesterday - all the things I'm using for unmounting my stamps I have been popping onto a bag so I don't lose them - things go missing so quickly in this room! So, really, all I have been doing this week is working on unmounting and storing my stamps. It is a slow job, so you will probably hear a lot about it this year. I think I may make myself spend one day a week actually working on something else, or else this is the only thing that will get done this year! But, I didn't do that this week.
Here is what is awaiting me: On the floor beside my chair - Box of Bird Stamps, and 2 Christmas Stamp boxes
Mounted stamps in all these boxes:
And these (and several boxes I didn't photograph):
And here is what I've done so far - I have gotten rid of 2 photo boxes of mounted stamps, plus 4 small boxes, into these 3 binders (plus some already unmounted stamps)
I am presently working on "Birds". So, I think, as far as space saved goes, I will see a lot more space in this room! Of course, then the room will need a total makeover - it never ends!
I have to make a birthday card for my brother this week, so I will have that to show next week, as long as I remember to take a pic of it!
Here is a rare shot of both my cats, Penny and Inky, together.
Well, that's it for today, now I'm off to peek at your desks!

Here is my desk today:
Looks pretty clean, doesn't it? That's because the only thing I've been doing lately is unmounting my stamps, and organizing them, along with my already unmounted stamps, in binders. I am just starting "B" - babies, and already I'm on my 3rd binder. One whole binder for Asia, another one for Africa and Animals (not including birds, insects or fish).
Oh, and I also made my first journal page for 2017. My word for 2017 is "attraction" for all the things I'm going to attract into my life this year!
Here is what I'm doing with my stamps:
As I mentioned before I am sewing my own pouches, this way I can make them any size I need.
I am also labeling each pouch so I know where the stamp goes, the name of it, as well as who made it.
Someone asked last week about all the stamps that fit into several categories. This is how I did that:
These are all the Asia stamps that can be found in other places, such as insects, postal stamps, faces, animals etc.
The only downside so far:
Boxes of wood. Not sure what to do with it! The stamps are coming off very easily, most just pull right off. Some I have to microwave for 5-7 seconds to loosen the glue. I'm thinking of making a video of how I'm doing this! I have my new i-Pad, and also something to hold it up high so I can make videos - this may be my first one!
Now I'm off to peek at your desks, thanks for popping by!

The week after New Years and all is calm and bright. . .the snow is gone, the rain is here - our annual January thaw (although there wasn't much to thaw this year!), Inky is outside watching the squirrels - life is good!
Here is my desk this morning:
Hardly room to move! The border stamps at the top were for my journal page (not finished yet), there are Dollar Store wipes (great for cleaning stamps!), scissors, ink, tape, and other things. I decided for my 2017 project (who doesn't need one of those!) I would UNMOUNT all my stamps, and along with my already unmounted stamps, keep them in binders.

My first binder - "A" |
I already have ALL my stamps organized both by groups and alphabetically, so I thought I would do this all in order, so AFRICA was first on the list. I don't have a ton of Africa stamps, and the ones I do have were mostly already unmounted stamps, so that was good for this first page experiment. I am sewing my own stamp enclosures to the size of the stamps. This first page is filled both front and back. I'm not sure of the binders yet, I saw zippered binders at Staples, but they were $10 each, and I would need a LOT. I thought they would be good to keep stray stamps from falling out, especially when transporting. Although, I could get just one to use when I AM transporting pages of stamps. Oh well, it's all a process!
My crafty Christmas and Birthday (Jan 1) presents this year:
Stencils and stamps (from Hubby and DD)! Also my Mom got a me 4 new colors of Distress inks, the matching sprays and re-inkers and 2 matching distress ink pens!
One last thing, my DD went to Las Vegas last year, and got me this awesome cup - so my 2017 motto is: Let the Good Times Roll!!
Have a wonderful 2017, a year of new beginnings, new hopes and dreams, and an abundance of love and happiness!
Thanks for visiting, and now I'm off to see yours!
