Had such a busy day yesterday, I wasn't able to get my What's On Your Workspace Wednesday post up! But here I am today, pretending it is yesterday. If you are wondering what WOYWW is, just go to the beautiful new 5 year WOYWW button on my sidebar, and all will be revealed! This is the 260th week - 5 years for WOYWW, and so I got to choose a button for my site!
I had been away from my workspace for a week, then made sure I was working again this week, even if only for 30 minutes. Boy, other things can sure push me away from what I really want to do!
So here is my workspace:
As you can see I was working on my journal. This page is an interesting one for me. I went on a House Tour last weekend (where you get to snoop in people's beautiful houses) and one house was owned by an artist named Barb Carr who made awesome canvases of just colored squares - using only one predominant color. Here is one of her pieces:
I loved it and wanted to try it myself, but, of course, it's never as easy as it looks! I came up with this page for my journal:
Now, you can see a gold moose and a small gold deer - those were inspired by another canvas in another house - a large white background with a single gold moose in the center. So this journal page was inspird by 2 different artists! I love gold, so everything is edged with gold as well.
Thanks for peeking! See you next week!

Better late than never - well worth waiting for! That effect is lovely. Thanks for sharing, and have a great week. Hugs, Chris # 15 xx
Love your page. So how did you do it? Did you use scrapbooking paper and cut it into squares? I want to try my own hand at this. :D
Love your squares, it has turned out really fabulous and could a technique to use on all sorts of stuff like cards or canvases. Happy 5th Anniversary from Annette #3
To Walks with Wolves - I actually cheated - I had some scrapbook paper that was already marked off in squares and "sewn" together, I just followed the lines!
Love that mosaic effect!
Thanks for stopping by, and I will have a few spare ATCs if you would like to swap.
Happy 5th WOYWW Anniversary.
Bit late posting this week but you're late too so no excuses needed lol! I love the idea with the squares, great fun. Hope you are having a great WOYWW anniversary week.
Happy crafting, Angela x 40
I found this book about paper mosaics. It comes out just like that. Paper squares! Very nice indeed. Happy anniversary to you! Patsy
Loving the page.
Happy WOYWW 5th Anniversary. Sue 57
Love your coloured square piece. Thanks for the visit BJ#103
Hi Linda, thank you for stopping by my WOYWW desk this week! I love your journal page... a real wow! Carole Z X #44
Like your patchwork journal page -- I am doing something similar, but with hexagons, following Laura Bassen's idea of having a "pin board" with swatches of all the projects you do over the course of a year.
I'm Kirsten, by the way, and I am your ATC swap buddy I think for the WOYWW ATC swap. Could you email me your address? kmcorby at yahoo dot com
Thanks!
Amazing journal page! I'm still doing the rounds, this week; sorry it;s late. Helen 8
Hi the idea of using coloured squares is an interesting concept. I might have to try that ... I have fine it with fabric so it's similar ... Kind of.
Thanks for your visit ... I'm still playing catch up with visits

Hey there
sorry it's like this late visiting you, but i've hardly felt like blogging since Thursday night - so I'm sorry I missed your comment - plus i've not even looked at my emails for nearly 3 weeks - well, not properly anyway! If you come back this week, I'll explain why i've been a bit rubbish at visiting desks... i'm only just visiting ppl who came to visit me - i'm making them priority (lol)!!!
Love your busy looking desk, at least it's busy for a proper reason - although I had been making a tag and recently done a canvas, but not ready enough to reveal yet...
Hopefully 'see' you again,
Paula - #150/151
Apparently, we're swap buddies - so I'll go look to see if I have a comment from you in my emails - if so, hopefully i'll be able to reply if you've got it set up to enable replies... if not - I'll have to come back again, unless you pick this up and reply to me because I think I do have mine set up????
