WOYWW #810

It's What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday, time for a peek at each other's desks and projects! We are now sharing through Sarah, at Sarah's Craft Shed.

Good morning! I am writing on Tuesday morning, as I play Pickleball tomorrow. We are being blessed with freezing rain today! Hopefully tomorrow will be nicer weather. Here is my desk this morning:

Still working on my book project for Fodder School 1. I am getting the pages together ready for binding.

Before this step, I had to make the cover of the book using many of the fabrics I had dyed:

Here is the inside cover (left side) with some pages on the right:

Then I had to practise binding with fabric pieces, so I made a practise book:

And I couldn't just leave it at that, I had to finish it!

One photo is missing, but you get the idea! So now that I have the idea of how to bind my project, I am getting my pages together with the fabrics that I want to bind it with, which is what is on my desk today. So next week...maybe a finished project? We will see!
Here are some Christmas pics to end this post:

My Advent Calendar that my Dad gave me many years ago. It used to hold candies, but now it holds tiny Christmas ornaments for a tiny tree!

And here is Mittsy wishing everyone a Merry Christmas! Mittsy loves the tree, and if you look closely you can see that all the low lying ornaments are cat toys! Inky isn't all that interested in the tree very much.

Well, have a wonderful week everyone!

PS: I don't get a chance to visit WOYWW until at least Thursday, so check your comments on the weekend! I usually try to visit everyone

WOYWW #809

It's What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday, time for a peek at each other's desks and projects! We are now sharing through Sarah, at Sarah's Craft Shed.

I'm writing this on Tuesday morning, the forecast for the next few days is snow, lots of it. So I might not even be able to got to Pickleball tomorrow, we will have to see. But here is my desk this morning:

The pages of my project are almost finished, cut up and ready to go, the cover will be made of many of the cloths that I have dyed. This is the "undercover".

Here is the process I went through last week. I "aged the paper" with instant coffee! I just sprinkled the coffee on, then spritzed it with water...

Here is the difference between the papers, before and after "aging"

Then I cut the papers up to the size I wanted for my book:

Then I stacked them up and made the "undercover"

My next step will be adding the fabrics to the cover. I'm almost done...

Last weekend was our 50th Annual Christmas Party with our Uni friends and their spouses. So hard to believe! We had a fabulous time!

The restaurant is in an old church and is called The Renaissance Supper Club. Lovely dinner! The then next day we went to brunch at a beautiful old inn called the Woodview Inn, owned by the brother of one of our friends:

This was just one of the trees! We had a wonderful brunch, it was a beautiful day, and a lovely time with our friends. Next year we are back in the Toronto area or the 51st.

Have a wonderful week, the kitties are inside keeping warm and send all their purrs to you!
