I know, I'm a week late, but I hope everyone has a wonderful and creative 2012! New Years Day was my 58th birthday. I don't feel 58! We always go to brunch on New years Day, and take a 3-generation photo. Here's this year's photo:
I'm in the middle, my Mom is 75, and my daughter is 25.
I also got sick on my birthday, a very bad cold, that sent me to my bed for the next 3 days. Today (Sunday) is the first day I've had enough energy to get me through the whole day! Good thing too, because I start back to school with all my preschoolers tomorrow!
I didn't have much time to really do anything but write in my journal, which I will show you on my next post. Today, I wanted you to see what I saw this morning when I looked into my Stamp Room:
It was treacherous just to walk to my work table...
and even worse ON my table!
my goal today was to finish figuring out what to do with my unmounted stamps to make getting to them even easier...
and to be able to get some space on my table to do some work this week.
Mission accomplished!
Hopefully NOW I can get down to some serious creating!
Talk to you soon!

A belated happy birthday ! Great photo of your family !!
I agree , storing stamps can be a challenge , so what did you come up with to make it easier to keep track of ? I keep mine in several drawers , but when I am creating they end up a mess !
Have a wonderful day !

Thanks Eunice! My unmounted stamps are in white envelopes (5x7?) stamped on the front with what's inside. I have organised them alphabetically (by company) in small gift bags that I can sit on my lap and flip through. Many bags are mixed companies, but I have 2 bags dedicated to Tim Holtz an done just for Character Construction. They are all on the floor lined behind my chair so I can just turn around and grab a bag. For me, things have to be within reach and visible!
Happy Birthday! I'm going to be 53 and don't feel it either. You look wonderful and I love that 3 generation photo! I wish I still had my Mom. At this point all that is left to my family is me and my kids so its only 2 generations. Cherish the time you have together. I miss my Mom everyday. Great workspace. I totally understand the mess though...THAt is exactly how I work.
Happy belated b-day!
I'm so glad that I am not the only one with a terrible mess in my studio!! Clean-up is on my list this week! :D Becky
Hi Linda,
Happy belated birthday -- and I hope you're completely recovered! Ah, the studio cleaning caper! It must be in the air. I decided nearly a year ago to move my "messy" art (stamping, book binding, collage, etc.) to a spot to be set up in the basement and convert my carpeted room upstairs to strictly sewing. I stewed about it for nearly a year and began the process in September. Our 20-something cousin was willing to haul books and supplies down 2 flights for pizza and beer which worked well. The sewing studio is now done but the basement still has sorting and putting away, though all furniture is in place. I've had to slow down more than I'd like due to a massive embolism in my right lung but, at some point, both spaces will be functional....I hope!

Congratulations, Linda!!
Three generations and a clean craft room!
You are blessed!
Happy creating!!

You make me feel so much better about my studio! It is good to see someone else who has allowed their stuff to creep into their working space. Sometimes I am working in only a square foot area...then I laugh and try to be better next time. But I wind up with all possibilities for a project surrounding the actual working area on my desk. Thanks for sharing with all of us.
Glad you're feeling better. Love the pics of your art room. Finally someone has as much STUFF as I do... BIG GRIN
I agree within reach and visible! I have been toying with the clip systems I have seen, just not sure about how much they will really hold. I was feeling so bad about my office/workspace - Now I am happy to see that I am not alone!
Great work!
Can you get teh cleanup fairy to come to my house?
Great job!
HNY blessings,
Robyn
Many Happy Returns Linda, guess what we're twins! I was born at 12.40am on 1st Jan 1954. I'd love you to come to my sewing studio and perform some magic too, even thinking of taking over the room next door for more storage LOL
Regards,
Christine
